I think I blacked out how much chaos theory was brought up. It's almost like the book didn't want you to forget that escaped dinosaurs are ChAoTiC! Lol
The characters are the worst part of the book, which is interesting considering they are one of the best parts of the film.
    Awesome review!

I don't blame you if you did, it was so often lol
      and SOOO chaotic.
The characters are the worst part of the book by far - but it made me happy when they got what was coming to them.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! i really appreciate it :)

Wow! I didn't realize that Jurassic Park was 450+ pages. I would've expected it to be 100 pages shorter. lol It maybe would've been if it weren't for the Chaos Theory popping up so much.
I've only seen the movie, so hearing your thoughts about the book is very interesting. It makes me wonder why the movie isn't more closely adapted.
Totally Relatable: All the characters suck and enjoyment is gained from their suffering. KILL THEM ALL! 🤣🤣🤣
    Thanks for the review!

I’m glad you enjoyed the book! It does seem darker than the movie. Is it wrong I loved how much you hated the little girl 😂😂 Not grandpa hating on his own grandkids! 😂 I don’t remember any of that from my horrible read of it when I was young. Just all the science stuff being thrown at me and angry is all that stuck out to me then. Hope you enjoy Lost World too if you get to it! 😊

Oh the grandpa hated them with a passion I didn't know a grandad could have lol

@BookWyrm1060 lol that is messed up! Grandpa is just supposed to help the little ones get into trouble, not be almost responsible for them being Dino food and happy about it! 😂

@@BookWyrm1060 that’s crazy! Yeah he was delusional but sweet lovable old grandpa in the movies. Didn’t learn his lesson obviously, but sweet nonetheless. Book grandpa is just like I’m evil and my kid raised horrible kids 😂

Nice review! I just did the audiobook for this recently, as someone who only saw Jurassic Park when I was in my late 20s and only vaguely remembered it. Unfortunately I didn't like it, haha. You're right about the kids--at first when Lex was all shell-shocked and traumatized after the T-Rex I figured the book would play it pretty straight, but then later she's literally taunting T-Rexes and screaming for ice cream. At some points the kids are written like adults and at others they're written like toddlers :P
You're right about the chaos theory stuff being annoying, it seems to just be there so Crichton can make himself feel smart, but it's made a lot worse by him not even understanding what chaos theory is, because it has nothing to do with why the park failed, lol. Also that scene with the T-Rex's tongue was hilariously cheesy, maybe that's what you meant by funny moments? I don't think it was intentional though!

sorry it took me so long to respond to your message!
for real! the kids! and the whole taunting had me in a whiplash moment.
oh the tongue bit did have me in stitches lol, and I agree that I don't think it was intentional at all.
Thank you for the comment and stay amazing!

@@BookWyrm1060 No worries! Yeah, Jurassic Park seems like one of those books that got written just so it could be improved in a big budget film adaptation, haha. I bet Crichton's 'Andromeda Strain' is the same way!

Interesting fact, it's now debated if they were warm/cold blooded. Sounds like a more interesting start to the thing than the film

It's got so many cool and good things that it mentions. And it's a good read. But it's bonkers.
Just be ready to have choas theory thrown in your face at multiple angles lol

@@DanielGafner generally speaking it's suspected that many Theropods were likely warmblooded by the end of the Jurassic period,if not earlier, especially as generally speaking that line was the precursor to birds which are warm blooded, although it's contested
