  • @shubomb
    @shubomb 7 месяцев назад +35

    Vidit's time management has been shockingly bad in the tournament, it's been 8 rounds and you'd think he'd have addressed it by now but no he continues to play like he's got extra time on his clock, using more than an hour by move 13, thinking for 20 mins in opening just to castle. It's like he's obsessed with playing the absolute best move in every position, even in opening where you can play a few different moves and not be worse

    • @soxnation1000
      @soxnation1000 7 месяцев назад +3

      I agree. Sometimes a move is critical and you need to spend time, but Vidit spends too much time on opening moves.

    Gukesh does not appear to need much meditation. Cool as a cucumber. For years now Magnus has bounced back after losses unperturbed. If Gukesh can emulate this ability, he could be the next classical WC since Magnus is not interested in this format

      Gukesh is amazing because even Magnus did not play this well when he was that age. Magnus suffered candidates tournament losses at Gukesh's age. Gukesh has the mentality like Kasparov like fighting spirit and I believe he will rule classical chess in the next few years or so.

    That was a tough loss for Vidit and his chances for winning this tournament drop significantly with this loss. Unfortunate but Gukesh shows he is a dangerous counterpuncher like Karpov was and you have to respect that. You get just a bit impulsive against him and you pay for it. Today's game against Pragg will be very interesting! Either one of them has a chance at winning the whole thing.
    Keep playing hard Vidit! You never know what can happen cuz it ain't over till its over!
    As always Great job with the summary coverage and analysis Chess Base India. Much appreciated!
