The problem is that a few Nepalese celebrities who live in the United States act as if they were celebrities in the US as well and seek a celebrity treatment from members of their fellow Nepalese diaspora. Whether in Nepal or the US, we are all equal and must act like ones. It's understandable that they have celebrity statuses in Nepal, where they have thousands of fans and people may swarm at them posing potential security risk, and they need to maintain certain distance and behave exclusively from the rest. When they act similarly in the US, it gotta give some sour grapes to some people. That's what Karishma Didi may be complaining about. Huge respect to the legend of Nepalese silver screen world.

Working at a Subway sandwich store in Maryland must have been quite a humbling experience for her. Although, I am not sure what sort of employment she sought in US with her education/work experience. You can't expect friends and coworkers to treat you like a celebrity. She usually stayed a little aloof to herself at a distance during gathering and nepali events.. wonder if she expected everyone to crowd around her.
