    Owned a 2010 Fatboy Lo, great bike. The 2019 looks great with the exception of the solid billet wheels, but starting to warm up to them. Fatboy's have always been a chore in corners, still fun to ride.
    Price is too high for a cruiser, 16-18000$ I think is fair. 20000$+ and I'll wait to buy used.

    I have a 2018 Fatboy. You have to push harder in the corner and it will do it. Don't expect it to handle like a sport bike. That's not its purpose.
    Touring bikes with M8 have 75 percent vibration knocked down with a single counter balancer and Softails have dual counter balancers with roughly 100 percent of primary vibrations gone.

    • @curtis1951
      @curtis1951 6 лет назад +1

      Fatboys used to handle good until Harley put oversized tires on it.

      I've a 114 Breakout, so I hear you. I love this new Fatboy but didn't test it yet. Was a hard decision between both. I've no problems enjoying my Breakout if I wanted to do Canyons I would own a Japanese bike.

      Curtis Sherwood : the Looks of the Japanese bikes do not stand to compare to that of a Harley. Harley looks are much much superior .. that’s why..

      This is a Highway Machine for sure, twisty roads and canyon turns are not this bikes forte with these tires. With that said, it's the best looking "old-school" bike HD has in it's soft-tail line-up with the Deluxe following close behind. Is it me? I'm diggin the Root Beer color on this Fatty !

    Great video and the FatBoy 114 is a great bike. I felt the same way about the turning initially, but after 250 miles, I don’t even notice it. My buddies on street glides cannot keep up with me through the twisties and it’s rare that the footboards scrape. The stock seat is JUNK and there are very few aftermarket seats due to the new softail frame.

    This is my dream bike except, I want the 107 version to do a stage 2 build with the power cam.
    Stage 2 characteristics, and 107 is a lucky number for me.
    Also Harley Davidson specifically calls them Floorboards in the catalog and in technical specs. So I'm going with that. They're floorboards.

    • @markmasson123
      @markmasson123 6 лет назад +1

      My dealer wants 16 hours of labor to do a stage 2. That's about the same amount of time for a stage 3. I've seen lower labor estimates on forums but I can't find a dealer who will do it for less and I've been to three in my area. I can't speak to the "lucky number" thing but you are going to end up spending more money to build up a 107 then just buying a stock 114 and you'll be left with a bike that has similar performance to a stock 114. You'll also now have adjustable pushrods with a 107 Stage 2 which many techs I've spoke to are down on. I do agree with you on the power cam over a torque cam. The Milwaukee 8's are known for their torque in the lower RPM range so adding power to the upper range with the cam you are looking at is the way to go IMHO. Lastly, the 114 comes with a Stage 1 air cleaner so that saves you another additional expense. BTW, I have an '18 Breakout with a 114 and LOVE the motor...and the rest of the bike.

    • @RossMalagarie
      @RossMalagarie 6 лет назад +1

      Just get the 114ci 2019 version probably cheaper

    • @Aprojeep
      @Aprojeep 6 лет назад +1

      A Stage 2 horsepower cam cost me just a tad over $2400 on my 114 Fatboy. But that includes the Auto and Street tuners.
      Reference the HD Screamin Eagle catalog for power charts. I went with the cam because it made slightly better power than a Stage 3 kit and $2000 in savings.

    • @RossMalagarie
      @RossMalagarie 6 лет назад

      Aprojeep not arguing just doing the math. So if they wanted a Fatboy then it would be cheaper to get a new or used one with a 107ci motor and do a $2400 lets call it $3K tax, title, and license, (total after all fees) so any Fatboy under $14K with a 107ci would be cheaper since a new Fatboy stickers at around $18.5K so after T, T, and L it should be around $20K. As long as the total of bike and $3K for 2 stage is less than $20K then it would be cheaper that way yes

    I bought that same bike. Took the rear tire pressure down to 37 and set the rebound dial to 2 and the ride is manageable. I’m 6’ 2” at 260#.
    It did change the cornering a little, but a softer ride is more important to me.
    HD wants 36 PSI Front and 40 PSI Rear and it rides like a hard tail😔

      As far as your first bike, personally I would stick with something around 96 cubic inches. The torque of the 107 or 114 will be a little much for a new rider. A 96 will more than get the job done and will be easier to get used to.

    Foot boards. Those solid wheels are beautiful, but they will make the bike a handful in a good crosswind. They act like sails. I've owned a bike with almost solid wheels and they catch ALOT of wind and move you around while on the highway.

      @hfalcon25 6 лет назад

      No different than regular spoke wheels on crosswinds. I also have a VROD and feels same in crosswinds. Plenty of research out there debunking that myth.

      Ivan I was speaking from personal experience, not something that I had heard from someone else. So for me; it is no myth, it's fact.

    I'm new to Harley's and currently own an 08 Dyna Super glide custom. I always worried when I was shifting because the thunk I hear makes me think I'm breaking something. But it is good to have both tactile and audio indication that I shifted gears. My main complaint is the mid controls and how hard it is to shift gears with my riding boots. Have to use the edge of my foot to upshift. Looking for forward controls to fix the problem.

    NICE REVIEW. SO THIS IS GOOD FOR LONG STRAIGHT STRETCHES OF ROAD AND NOT FOR WINDING TIGHT CORNERS....? AS YOU KEEP COMPLAINING HOW HARD IT IS TO TURN...

      I have an 18 and I'm a small guy. It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. And it's very comfortable on long rides. I went to my Fatboy from a street Bob and it was like night and day difference

    I was told the same thing about adding vibration by my local dealer when I test rode several models last year with the then new Milwaukee 8 engines. Seems to be a very good motor, although the 1900cc V-twin Yamaha Eluder Bagger would be my choice. I rode one last Saturday and found it smooth, really powerful, great handling and excellent brakes. The Infotainment system is really good as well with a higher resolution display easily viewed in any light, unlike Harley's. It's touch screen as well as bar mounted controlled. The Eluder lays into curves and turns just by thinking about it, and holds a line. It's long and heavy but really well balanced. By the way, I didn't see if the 2019 Fat Boy has solid wheels like previous models but the solid wheels affect handling.

    Foot boards !
    If ya got “foot pegs” with pegs
    Then “Foot boards” with boards
    You don’t call “pegs” Floor pegs
    As don’t call “Boards” floor boards 😁
    Love the 114” as a base to build up.
    Keep up the Brilliant work

    The Fat Boy has been my all time favorite Harley Davidson, especially because of Terminator 2. ...But that 2018 just looks bloated, and $6K more for a 114ci engine, talk about some BOHICA!

    I noticed no master solenoid on the left handlebar? Which means no hydraulic reservoir, which means cable clutch and not hydraulic clutch. I wonder why Harley went with cable over hydraulic for the clutch?

    Wonder if those wheels drift the bike at all when it's windy or you catch an oncoming blast off a semi truck. Cool bike, but I think the riders willing to pay that for a new bike are long gone in any significant number. I haven't read a positive article about Harley's future in a long time. Harley's biggest competitor seems to be it's own used market.
