ഉപ്പുമാവ് കഥ സൂപ്പർ. സ്കൂൾ ലൈഫ് ഓർമ്മ വന്നു. ഞാനും പഴയ ഓർമ്മയിൽ ചോളപ്പൊടി വാങ്ങി ഉപ്പ്മാവ് ഉണ്ടാക്കി നോക്കി , നിരാശയായിരുന്നു ഫലം. ഒരു ടേസ്റ്റും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.പ്രവാസിയായപ്പോൾ ഇവിടുത്തെ ചോളപ്പൊടിയും വാങ്ങിനോക്കി , ഒരു രക്ഷേമില്ല. ആ ടേസ്റ്റ് എന്താണാവോ ഇപ്പോ ഇല്ലാത്തെ . ചിലപ്പോൾ അന്നത്തെ ദാരിദ്ര്യം ഇന്നില്ലാത്തകൊണ്ടാവും ...ആവോ...
വീണ പറഞ്ഞ ഉപ്പുമാവ് അതായത് സർക്കാർ സ്കൂളിൽ ഞാനൊക്കെ പഠിക്കുന്ന കാലത്ത് കിട്ടുമായിരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ രുചി ഭയങ്കരം തന്നെ. കാരണം അത് ചോളപ്പൊടിയും, ഗോതമ്പു നുരുക്കും അമേരിക്കയിൽ നിന്നും ഇറക്കുമതി ചെയ്ത താ യി രു ന്നു. അതാണ് ആ ഭയങ്കര രുചി കിട്ടിയത്.. ഞാനും ആ രുചിയോർത്ത് കൊതിക്കുന്നു '
ശരിയാണ്. ഞാനും ചോളത്തിന്റെ ഉപ്പുമാവ് കഴിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 5 മാസം ചോളവും 5 മാസം ഗോതമ്പിന്റെ ഉപ്പുമാവും ഉണ്ടാകും. ചോളത്തിന്റെ Taste ഒന്നു വേറെ ലെവലായിരുന്നു. ഒരു മധുരം കലർന്ന രുചിയായിരുന്നു നാട്ടിൽ വച്ച് ഒരുതവണ ചോളപ്പൊടി വാങ്ങി റെഡിയാക്കി നോക്കി. പഴയ ഒരു രുചിയും ഉണ്ടായില്ല.

ശരിയാണ്. ഞാനും ചോളത്തിന്റെ ഉപ്പുമാവ് കഴിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 5 മാസം ചോളവും 5 മാസം ഗോതമ്പിന്റെ ഉപ്പുമാവും ഉണ്ടാകും. ചോളത്തിന്റെ Taste ഒന്നു വേറെ ലെവലായിരുന്നു. ഒരു മധുരം കലർന്ന രുചിയായിരുന്നു നാട്ടിൽ വച്ച് ഒരുതവണ ചോളപ്പൊടി വാങ്ങി റെഡിയാക്കി നോക്കി. പഴയ ഒരു രുചിയും ഉണ്ടായില്ല.
