I love all the tips and tricks you give. Clean is something I use to enjoy. I experience a traumatic event with one of my children a few years back. The trauma from it has made it hard for me to be motivated to do alot of things in life. You videos have been such great motivation. Thanks !!
I’ve been paying a ridiculous amount for a company to do this twice a year - now I can do it myself - & do it better - & save the money to buy ruggable rugs!!!
Yes! I did this for the first time last year, I didn’t realize how dirty they actually are! The windows felt so much brighter after cleaning the screens!
I use the dawn method…. Works like a charm every time!!! Now if only I can reach the outside on the top floor to clean the windows! Thanks for sharing your tips
I use the first method however, I find I get a much cleaner screen when I rinse it with plain water first. Then I’m not smearing around as much dirt and I use less product.
Last spring when I did this I only sprayed it down in my bathtub, never even thought to use a cleaner. Can’t wait to try out one of these methods and see how clean they will be this year! 👏🏻
Can’t say I have ever cleaned my screens….can’t believe I admitted that! Now that I know how, I am on a mission to get them all scrubbed. Thank you for the step by step!
We pop ours out, lean them against the porch and spray them with the electric pressure washer. Fast, simple, and the dirt stays outside. They are clean as a whistle afterwards. Use the same electric pressure washer to clean the screen on my screened in porch as well. Cleans all the pollen out of it every spring.
I like the spray method myself, I took al my screens off and cleaned then all at the same time, while they air dry, I clean the windows and the frames and put them back in and viola they are finshed. I have now done this three times, spring, fall and now spring again. It just feels so good to have evrything so clean, while I am doing all my spring cleaning I make a list of housemaintaince things I need to do also so that gets done, makes a big difference then you dont forget. Last year I painted my molding around my windows because I had forgotten to after we had new windows installed, so that only took me two months to do after I made a note that it had to be done. But I had forgotten it for years.
Can’t wait for spring in Manitoba! Love how you motivate us for spring cleaning even if it’s still full on winter. I feel like we’re getting a head start!!
We pressure washed the whole house and the amount of dirt from window screens is INSANE🤯 even thought I cleaned them less than a year ago! Will definitely try one of these methods next time!
These videos are awesome to watch. I rent, but my screens need to be cleaned. Also have two sliding glass doors. If it ever stops raining in California I'll get on it. My tracks are mud. Thanks Sarah 😊
I love clean screens. When the weather is nice I wash my screens on my deck. I lay the screens flat on the deck then use a soft broom to brush my screens that have been wet down and sprayed with dawn power wash. Then rinse. Works great.
My bedroom window and dining room screen s are about 50” x 24”. I’m going to try cleaning them in my shower. I also have a screen on my French door that I haven’t tried to cleaned because of the size. Hopefully it’s not too big for my shower. Thanks for the tip.
@helenbhoff I've always done the tide method but I'll try the dawn powerwash next time, maybe I won't get my arms wet up to my elbows lol. I clean aggressively.
@rach_ann81 I wonder if you can use a scrub brush (lightly) instead ruining of a cloth? If it's just as effective? Either way, my screens need a clean BADLY!
It’s always water bleach and tide for me. I have also been paying a ridiculous amount for a company to do this. Now that I have my aqua blade I can do it all on my own! Should you do the glass or the screen first?
@mamamcgonigal here, most of my screens the tabs are broken off - any tips on how to get them in and out without the tabs would be appreciated. Thanks for all the great tips.
We replaced most of our screens when we bought our house last summer. They won't be too dirty but my window sills need another good scrubbing! And I'm new to commenting on RUclips posts so I don't know what my handle is 🤪
Dawn power wash is the only thing that gets my window screens clean. We live on a farm, and the house is right beside the barn. The fly poop is so hard to clean off!
@karengoemmel I’ll try the Dawn PowerWash Method - our exterior is being painted/pressure washed in May - I’m in charge of windows. I’m sure my screens are filthy!

I'm staring at my dirty screens while watching you clean these. On my To Do list.
I use the first method however, I find I get a much cleaner screen when I rinse it with plain water first. Then I’m not smearing around as much dirt and I use less product.
This looks so easy! And makes me want to go clean my screens right now. Thank you for sharing two different methods.
I love how well the dawn power wash works!! I used to just spray with water and wipe but this is so much better!! Thank you!!
Last spring when I did this I only sprayed it down in my bathtub, never even thought to use a cleaner. Can’t wait to try out one of these methods and see how clean they will be this year! 👏🏻

It's almost warm enough for me to start cleaning my screens and the outside windows. Your tips are the best and have changed the way I clean. Thanks!
I did this in the fall and was amazed how much of a difference it made!
The best method!! I’m glad spring is finally here and can start cleaning my screens!!

I am sooo trying this. I love that dawn dish soap power wash. You have me hooked. Never thought of using it on these for some reason.
I love using the horse hair brush first. Then I use dawn power wash. You have always given amazing tips to better cleaning.
Can’t wait for spring in Manitoba! Love how you motivate us for spring cleaning even if it’s still full on winter. I feel like we’re getting a head start!!
Pretty easy! I did it another way you showed a couple years ago where you just kept rinsing them with tide in a bathtub and it took forever!
Love how you remind us that this daunting task can be done so easily!!
@amking417
@amking417
This looks so simple. Thanks for the quick how to on removing the screen without destroying it.
The weather is finally warming up in Calgary! A great week/end to do all my window screens!
Its still freezing in Wyoming - but once its a LITTLE bit warmer I cant wait to do this!!
We pressure washed the whole house and the amount of dirt from window screens is INSANE🤯 even thought I cleaned them less than a year ago! Will definitely try one of these methods next time!
Both ways seem great..I’m going to try the dawn power wash for mine. Thanks for the tips!
I love spring time window cleaning. It's so satisfying!
Right in time for spring cleaning! Live your ways! Thank you!😍
These videos are awesome to watch. I rent, but my screens need to be cleaned. Also have two sliding glass doors. If it ever stops raining in California I'll get on it. My tracks are mud. Thanks Sarah 😊
Both methods look easy; I’ll use the Tide and hot water because Tide is my go-to for almost everything! Thank you!
I like the Dawn spray idea and will be trying that soon!
I haven't cleaned screens in at least 2-3 years. Definitely will be doing this once the weather warms up in Ontario.
Can’t wait for the weather to break and mine done! Thanks 4:54
I love your tide recipes for cleaning! You’ve inspired me to clean! 😊
I used the dawn method last year (I just did it outside with a hose) and it was so easy! definitely doing it again this year
Thanks for the great cleaning tips! Every chore is made a little bit easier when you know the right way to do it!
Thanks for reminder to do our screens! Somethings you just don't always think about cleaning.
@shelbyane
I'm definitely going to use the dawn powerwash method!
Thanks for making what seemed to be an overwhelming task more manageable.
Next on my list! Bedrooms are done! Thanks for all the awesome tips and tricks!!

I’ve used the powdered tide method and it’s great!!
@blancheetelynn I usually just sprayed the screens and wiped the edges but I’ll have to add dawn power wash to my routine
Thank you for the tips on cleaning windows screens . I tried this and works amazing 🤩
I prefer the Dawn spray! However, I may try both! Both are good to know!
I’m going to try the Dawn power wash. Thanks for the tip!
Wow the powerwash method is so easy! I can't wait to try it!
@karybry
Love the power wash for this! Waiting until the pollen comes through to do ours!
I love the tide and water so easy but the Dawn power wash🤯 Amazing!!!
Totally doing this today! I like the Dawn Power wash method!!
Love all the tips and tricks you share with us.
So satisfying. Can't wait for the weather to warm up!
Thank you for posting 👍🏾 both of the methods where great, they are easy 1st one my be better for some though!
Dawn Powerwash is a lifesaver! Also I think you read my mind and give me instructions on the exact things I need to clean 😂
Thank you great video. I prefer the 1st method.
Both cleaning options smell so good so it will be hard to choose. Love freshly cleaned windows!!!
@helenbhoff I've always done the tide method but I'll try the dawn powerwash next time, maybe I won't get my arms wet up to my elbows lol. I clean aggressively.
Definitely doing screens this year. You can also do it in the driveway with a hose if needed.
@rach_ann81
I wonder if you can use a scrub brush (lightly) instead ruining of a cloth? If it's just as effective? Either way, my screens need a clean BADLY!
@nicdev89
Does it not matter to vacuum or rinse them first? Just curious! Love both methods and everything you’ve taught me!!
It's a great feeling to see the results!
I think I will try cleaning my screens with the Dawn Power Wash. Thanks for the tip.
The second method works for me. Great video!
Can’t wait for the weather to get warmer to try this 😊
I will add this to my husband’s spring cleaning list! 😉
I love everything you teach! ❤️
@hewi_alli
Going to try the dawn powerwash once it's warm enough to rinse them outside.
I really needed to see this video of cleaning screens!
This looks so much easier than how I do it. I'm definitely going to give it a try this year!
So many good tips! You are the best!
@carolwiedman I can't wait to clean my windows and screens but will have to wait a little longer as still too much snow on the ground 😢
Love the step by step, thank you!!
Love the after on window cleaning day!
You influenced me to get an aqua blade, so my windows are looking better, now I just have to get motivated to do screens 💪🏼
@ katelynlburris
Love this! My screens are overdue for a good cleaning.
I like the first method best!Thanks!
Excellent work. Thanks!!
awesome tutorials. Thank you!!
Will definitely share this video with my husband as we share the spring cleaning jobs and this one is all his! lollart
You make this look so easy!
would you vacuum the screen first to make it easier or is that just more time consuming?
Love that Dawn power wash!
I’ve only hosed them down outdoors. I’ll try it with Dawn power wash.
My screens are that dirty too. Thanks for the guidance on cleaning them
I will never be able to thank you enough for introducing Dawn Powerwash to my cleaning repertoire.
Excellent idea
It’s always water bleach and tide for me. I have also been paying a ridiculous amount for a company to do this. Now that I have my aqua blade I can do it all on my own! Should you do the glass or the screen first?
Wow, this makes the whole process way less intimidating! Honestly looking forward to doing this!
Great video. We don’t do this often enough!
@mamamcgonigal here, most of my screens the tabs are broken off - any tips on how to get them in and out without the tabs would be appreciated. Thanks for all the great tips.
Any suggestions for cleaning a screen that cannot be removed? I have 2 retractable screens that need a good cleaning!
The satisfaction when you rinse the dirt off. Wow!
Perfect time to watch this in time for cleaning my screens!
Dawn power wash literally does EVERYTHING 😂😂 I love it so much
We replaced most of our screens when we bought our house last summer. They won't be too dirty but my window sills need another good scrubbing! And I'm new to commenting on RUclips posts so I don't know what my handle is 🤪
You make it look so easy! Now if I could only get the outside of my upper floor windows!
Dawn power wash is the only thing that gets my window screens clean. We live on a farm, and the house is right beside the barn. The fly poop is so hard to clean off!
You make it look so easy!
@karengoemmel
I’ll try the Dawn PowerWash Method - our exterior is being painted/pressure washed in May - I’m in charge of windows. I’m sure my screens are filthy!
Haven’t tried either, but will try the tide first.
