I would say RAL7031 is rather the color for gray tone.

The operation is called scraping. It is for geometric alignment of the slideways and to get oilgrooves.

I am wondering if I can put one of these machines in my workshop, which is very small. Does anyone know roughly how much the empty column weights on its own? Thanks 😊

Some guys here in Germany have managed to get an FP1 into their basement. I think the older version is around 650-700kg total. You should be aware that there are very different versions of the FP1, since it was built from like 1930 to 1990 (not sure). The head, gearbox, powerfeed and even axis travel have changed multiple times.
