My middle school math teacher and i had/have a unique relationship, we'd make jokes at each other and roast one another. As an example of our relationship one time i was being snarky as a joke and stuck out my tongue and he said he'd take it if i did it again and he grabbed it when i inevitably did it right after he said that. When i went back during my freshman year of high-school he said i needed to stop growing and i said id stop growing when he stopped balding. I apologized for it recently because that was harsh lol. Edit: side note he was also awesome when i came out as transgender. The last time i saw him was in October of 2023 and at that point i had been out for a while. He was extremely friendly and i dont think he recognized me till i pulled out my 8th grade year book and my old IDs lol. Him and i talked for a bit about my transition and how college is going. All of my middle school teachers are amazing and im glad i got to work with them. I had them all re sign my yearbook because they impacted me that much as a student

      Were you a "gifted" kid?
Not trying to be snarky, just curious.

@@atypicalbncnope, I was a completely normal 7th grader who liked to banter with my teachers

You’re hairlines still got some good time ahead, maybe receding, but it still looks good! And it fits your head shape + haircut well

Good on her for honesty 🙌
Maybe don’t put so much stock in how you look? Less vanity = more happy. Middle schoolers are brutal but so fun to work with; they can be mean, but they are kids, and it’s rewarding to see them improve, learn and grow

I’m not sure you understand what honesty is and how it’s applied. I think what you meant to say was HOW RUDE!

You look great, that kid was probably trying to be "cool" by being mean to the teacher or whatever.

Maybe teach kids that their score is not negotiable, especially over something as cheap as empty flattery?

Sometimes teachers will do it to help struggling students. I've had college professors do it when they know I'm struggling with an assignment due to stuff like surgical procedures

@@lollollolskeet Still, some people wonder why today's students struggle so much with integrity and ethics.
