The AT-AT is nicely scaled, and I love the extra cables poking through the opened panels. And AT-AT’s are fairly rare when compared to the fleet Imperials had and the size of territory they claimed to rule. They had a large number of them, but had an even larger number of planets to control. A very good job, would love to try out the table!
It's perhaps worth pointing out what makes ATATs rare... The Galactic empire probably has around 50 Million inhabited planets and a population of around 100 Quadrillion beings. The fleet has about 25,000 star destroyers so they are spread quite thin in relation to the size of the territory they try to control. So yeah there may be a lot of them but in real terms they are rare. :)
Star Destroyers weren't the sole means of delivering AT-ATs to planets under control of the Empire. Many of the planetary systems had space stations, most had garrisons, and many had manufacturing facilities. Behind Star Destroyers, TIE Fighters, and Stormtroopers, AT-ATs were the most widely recognized symbol of Imperial might. They were definitely not rare and produced in large numbers due to their versatility on worlds with varied terrain.
There doesn't need to be an estimate of numbers, the statement of AT-ATs being rare in the galaxy is incorrect. You assume the number of AT-ATs in the Empire are solely the ones carried on Star Destroyers and this is not true. Lothal had AT-ATs as a standard complement to their garrisons and so did Vardos in Battlefront 2. So did Sullust in Battlefront 1. Do you assume the number of TIE variants in the galaxy are also limited to the ones on a Star Destroyer? If so, an ISD only carries a full wing, which is 72 ships. By your logic, that means there are only 1.8 million, which is a gross underestimate.
darthweezy I think you should make an estimate because in the wikis it refers to 'hundreds' being produced. You are also deliberately not taking into account the sheer scale of the Galactic empire. It's all relative, yes there may be a lot of them but when set against 50million world's and 100 Quadrillion inhabitants, I think you will find they are quite rare.
I'd think there would be more fire especially in the middle. The AT AT didn't die of old age like an elephant in a graveyard someone killed it with cannon fire and or bombs. All the AT ATs in the movies explode, so its likely there would be a lot of fire. The trees and platforms all around it make it look like it has been there for years and is ancient salvage rather than something that went down last week. If so there could me more rust or corrosion and loads of mud or sand or snow inside it.
Remember the requirements and brief of a piece of gaming terrain will be pretty different from a fixed diorama. :) It's explained in the video why there is a certain neutrality to the weathering to allow it to be used in many environments :)
You guys should charge a fee for people to come and play on it. Who needs to go out to dinner and a movie? I would pay $20 to get a few hours of gameplay on that!
Cool terrain. AT AT being rare? I think you been playing to much Warhammer, they are not Titans that people have no idea on how to build it or repair it, expensive sure but rare probably not.
Well timewise it might be after the events of A New Hope or Return of the Jedi while the Empire is reeling from losing a multi trillion credit battlestation. So recovering tech might be worthwhile.
He is correct, every Star Destroyer carries 12 of them, but even tho this isn't properly reflected on many of the Star Wars media pieces, Star Destroyers usually operate alone, or in small groups, not huge fleets.

AT-AT´s are quite rare...... well 20 are stationed on each imperial I or Ii stardestroyer, several thousand stardestroyers around the galaxy, millions of AT-AT around. its just as expendable as a t34. you loose one? you get another 3 to try again
ehh, no offense but.. If i were gonna do an "ATAT" table, Id first of all not include those "walkways" making it look like a museum .. I also wouldnt have it laying on its side like a dying camel; holes through it with guts sticking out (wires) etc.. Then theres the terrain; it isnt good in its own right but is the only thing saving the walker and vice versa.. I would have used terrain to create a playable atmosphere, gave the walker a more interesting pose with damage effects, etc, have towcable wiring around the legs for a theme.. I know i know, the skys the limit, and its hard work.. but i feel what ive mentioned would be requirements... Great effort though, it still looks cool.. ps. -some walker prints on the ground?! MMM
I'm not sure I have the hubris to say George was wrong, but probably just being lazy. I wonder what he called AT-ST? Unless he called it an "atst" then I think a little consistency is in order.
Nice table, incredible detail, wish I could see more with that horrible camera work! If you try to show something, stay on it! Not like zoom in and immediately out. Makes me nauseous, plus cant see shit.
Then why do it as Endor rather than somewhere else? It looks a lot like it would fit on Naboo...perhaps adding a few Olmec Head aquarium pieces to it as well, or a lot of the other worlds. The big thing that makes Endor into Endor are the massive redwood type trees
AzraelThanatos he even mentioned that it's not necessarily Endor. It has a generic weathering so it can be rearranged in snow, dessert, or other terrain

I love what you did with the AT-AT. When I first saw gameplay using it for the scenario, I was invested getting into Star Wars Legion.
The Sweatshirt, and the AT-AT speak volumes in Nerd, Geek, and Gaming Culture!!
Ad Victoriam!
I would love to try out that table with the old Star Wars Miniatures game! So epic!!!
Great job with this piece. The last part of the video with the music playing while the camera was showing every little detail was epic.
That is freakin awesome, well done
That table is absolutely incredible !
Might try and use them in a legion game
Very very cool Dude. Makes me want to do some terrain work right now. Thanx for sharing this video. AWESOME!
THIS IS EPIC TABLEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I had a fraction of Johns talent. great table. nice work.
Impressive. Most impressive.
That looks amazing. Fantastic work John!

They mean the original 1980s AT-AT is a rare toy. And yes, it is.
this looks great!!
Holy hell that's amazing
eddieharr ii
That is the Wompa's bollocks. Sick manoeuvres.
That is stunning. John has knocked the brief out of the park! Looking forward to seeing it on a sand table :)
instablaster
It appears the backstage link to the vlogs is no more. Is there still a way to view the making of this epic thing?
Happy May the 4th!
Incredible work.
John , Dude you are the Don, Like a Boss,
Big gratz and thanks for sharing .

That's amazing!
Amazing diorama. It looks phenomenal. What are the dimensions of AT-AT?
I still have 4 at ats it’s the vintage hasbro one with the speeder bike in a rear bay
Wow, absolutely amazing! It reminds me of small miniature sets used for the first couple Star Wars movies. Very impressive
where do you guys get your trees? Are they woodlan scenics? or do you buy them like that?
That's amazing
Oh, That’s Beautiful!
Awesome!
Magnifique champ de bataille ! 😍😍 ou est ce que je peux trouver les même arbres que vous svp ?
Which deep cut studio mat is this please?
What at at did you use ? Me likes
Impressive !
So we're getting a "Let's play..." on this map next week, right? RIGHT?!
Yes, please!!!
Where are the catwalks around the AT-AT from?
that brotherhood of steel hoodie tho.
Good goooooood
STOP MOVING THE DAMN' CAMERA!
That looks insane! Great job.
Okay so AT-ATs although not readily available to rebels for inspections they are not really rare. I do love the look of the table BTW.
This alone was better than Last Jedi!
Wow. Insanity but very cool. Thumbs up (all 10 of them)
😂
NICE!!!
That is bloody good work. Love it!
Incredible work! "Star WArs, AT-ATs. I'm gonna Cuuuuummmmm!" - redletter media
You guys should charge a fee for people to come and play on it. Who needs to go out to dinner and a movie? I would pay $20 to get a few hours of gameplay on that!
wow
WHOAAAAAA so cool = 0
how does this video only have a couple thousand views
I was wondering the same thing!
The YT AI algorithm has no idea what is quality content! 😂
nice!
wow great video, i've subbed!
Cool terrain. AT AT being rare? I think you been playing to much Warhammer, they are not Titans that people have no idea on how to build it or repair it, expensive sure but rare probably not.
Underworlddream I haven't seen the rebels driving many of them :) so yeah I'd say they are quite rare... atleast compared to tie fighters 😉
IIRC every Star Destroyer carries like 12 of them!
Lorcan Nagle lol ok so about 300000 of them flying around on star destroyers then 😉
I stand corrected ATATs are the T35's of the empire 😊
Well timewise it might be after the events of A New Hope or Return of the Jedi while the Empire is reeling from losing a multi trillion credit battlestation. So recovering tech might be worthwhile.

Fantastic😱
Amazing! What AT AT toy is this?
www.amazon.com/Imperial-Terrain-Armored-Transport-Vehicle/dp/B0039X06OU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519032152&sr=8-1&keywords=hasbro+at-at that one. I weep for the At-At they did this to. It actually would have been more cost effective to do it on one of the vintage Kenner toys.
Those blue transitions are very annoying. Dio is Epic!
Love it! :)
AMAZING!!! :-o
How much money do you want for it!?
😂👍

its just as expendable as a t34.
you loose one? you get another 3 to try again
Interesting reflection! Thanks!
yes thay have at sat gess you realy got get a toy at at to get one fore the game but whas made fore the much biger toys to fight over will see what do
wtf?

cool table but the at at looks to clean need some rust
couldn't keep watching after the first dozen "at-ats" istead of AT-AT
It's supposed to be pronounced "at at". George lucas called it an "At at"
I'm not sure I have the hubris to say George was wrong, but probably just being lazy. I wonder what he called AT-ST? Unless he called it an "atst" then I think a little consistency is in order.
can you stop the blue effects in the editing?
Nice table, incredible detail, wish I could see more with that horrible camera work! If you try to show something, stay on it! Not like zoom in and immediately out. Makes me nauseous, plus cant see shit.
That coloring when changing camera is really annoying. Beautifull work though
Cool build. But the editing is not very nice. The blue, bitty transitions were very irritating. Only managed 2½ minutes.
Fire the editor.. yes..
MrMarkb68 I liked it
Only downside is that it isn't Endor, the trees are to small for Endor.
AzraelThanatos even big trees are small at some point 😁 consider it part of endor that is growing back? 😉
Then why do it as Endor rather than somewhere else? It looks a lot like it would fit on Naboo...perhaps adding a few Olmec Head aquarium pieces to it as well, or a lot of the other worlds. The big thing that makes Endor into Endor are the massive redwood type trees

Hold my be....er, I meant drool cup!
😂
cool but you have to play the same thing over and over again with this non modular terrain ?! ....
No, this is a custom made table that we made especially for an AT-AT scenario.
Ugh way to ruin it with bringing up Mary Sue.
all jests aside it looks absolutely fantastic. Though...to be very picky the scale is off.
trouser wettingly supberb
At-Ats are not rare in the Empire.
👍👍👍❤❤❤
Yeah great but to pay gate this is lame...
Super nerd hideout
Yeah boii
These darkgray circles under them feets are just stupid and ruins the hole scenery... WHYYYY!!!
Nice table..terrible soy face on the video
Happy May the 4th!
