Who Has the Best RATHAS?

- This is a much-needed remake and update of an older video on the Bengali Ratha. We look at which civilizations benefit the most from converting a Ratha due to their unique bonuses or technologies. If I were to change any rankings based on the recent changes, it would be to swap #1 and #2, although as mentioned in the video, #2 is arguably best when all bonuses apply.
Note that there is a mistake in the text at 3:02, as Bengalis also do not get Thumb Ring.
If you remember the older video, much of the script is the same, or altered slightly, but with the "secret" removed and with some updates. I re-recorded the script and about 90% of the video, although some of it depicts similar situations to the original video.

Good to know trample is affected by atk speed. So my idea of stirrups Catras being amazing is true indeed. 😅
Yep, the faster the attack rate, the more often bonus/trample is dealt on top of the nominal attack.
How much better would the game be if converted units got the upgrades from their new civ. Big incentive to invest on Monks, whether they get the good upgrades or not.
Would be interesting for sure. If nothing else I think it would be a great team bonus to have the option to apply civ bonuses to converted units with a button (although there are many situations where you would not want to do this). But of course it could be a global feature as well.
Yeah, Imagine a Celt converted Eagle
Yet awesome
Just an addendum. Where would you rank Bengali raths on the list?
Great question, probably between Dravidians and Saracens, so I guess 7.5/10. In ranged mode they're worse than full upgrades generic (10% lower accuracy, no Parthian Tactics), but their melee mode is pretty good with 20% faster attack and +2 vs skirms, but not as good as Bulgarians with 33% faster attack.
@@AdmiralWololo 20% faster attack for rathas is for both ranged and melee mode right?
0:10 - The Bangla pronunciation is Raw-Th. At least modern Bangla. No idea about Medieval Bangla language.
That's good to know. My pronunciation here is based on SoTL's as people had told him "Rath" was correct, so it's possible that it's a medieval form, or that those people were referring to a related language.
@@AdmiralWololo in Bengali , Himdi and other languages too its pronounced as "Raw-th".
Give him a break. We mispronounce plenty of English words without even knowing we are mispronouncing it. Ratha is acceptable.
For me, the Malian ratha is better than the Sicilian one. No Parthian tactics, the Sicilian lacks the last armor and thumb ring whereas the Malian lacks bracer. Firing faster and never miss can be better than +1 attack/range without the speed and precision of shot. And in mêlée, the Malian is stronger beside facing pikemen or camels. Even worse, the rathas don't benefit from hauberk so the Sicilian ratha is a weaker Sicilian cavalier who shot not that fast while in the same time, the Malian ratha is a Malian cavalier who shot quickly and with precision before the close fight.
I am not sure if melee Rathas benefit from Sipahi. Can anyone confirm in game or using Genie Editor?
Both forms are considered cavalry archers for purposes of HP/Armor (which is why both forms benefit from Parthian Tactics), so this applies to Sipahi as well.
question what do you use to use this voice?
How do you mean? This is my voice.
@@AdmiralWololo no way lol really good voice acting
For me the best ratha Is the tatar
Yeah, easily could be first, definitely very well-rounded.
I want to know who has the best KARAMBITS
*smirks in Armenians*
They retain their stats, so this wouldn't be as interesting
first
Algorithm food is always welcome
3:15 shoudnt it be +5?
They miss blast furnace, so even though the tech is +5, the final amount of extra damage is +3
@@AdmiralWololo yeah i know ... was just wondering 👍
