My employer does 2% increases and they actually believe it’s sufficient enough to live off of. It’s literally a few cents more and it’s actually pretty annoying. They changed my job title and responsibilities 3 times and I’ve been here a year and only have me a 4% increase
Most companies give 2-3% "merit" increases. The only way to get over 10 is promotion teritory or leaving. Thanks!
I literally got 34 cents and my manager told me congratulations
I've seen more companies with Non-Compete agreements. Seems like they are trying to use these to hold on to people instead of fixing the root issues.
I think in California the Non competes are not enforceable. Im not too sure about other states nonetheless that’s ridiculous
Anything below inflation rate is not a "salary increase" nor an "adjustment to cost of living". Seems like very simple math to me. You are right, this is one of the main reasons pushing people to job-hopping.
I got a 3% pay raise and was told congrats. What does one say to that?
The job is already underpaying which was acknowledged by leadership. To add our team is understaffed and absorbing the workloads of the vacant positions. While I am told that I am appreciated, the ultimate appreciation is with the dollars on payday Friday. Seems companies do not care about their employees financial health. Sad.
My job changed my title instead of promoting me bc they claimed I was doing the same thing within that role anyway. Gave me a 5% merit raise then a year later lay me off. These places are jokes. Vow to never be in that predicament again.
Im so so sorry you were laid off! I’ve just begun to have the mind that you have to protect yourself
Great to see you back!!! Excited for your content! Looking to transition to regulatory affairs from my current validation position in a pharmaceutical company in OC.
Happy to be back! You’d be great for CMC regulatory most likely. Is your validation skills to leverage a cmc opportunity
Company: We have made record profits!
Me: Cool, where's my slice of the pie?
Company: A pat on the back is not good enough for you?!?!?!
😭😂 precisely
Excellent information thank you so much for sharing! 💵 ❤
Happy to share!
Wow, HR on side of an employee 😅
I know it’s rare 😂
This is a huge problem in my husband's branch right now.
My employer just gave me a 2% raise and doubled my responsibilities last year, requiring more and more, raising the bar constantly.
all I have done is cry. they made my situation even worse
I’m working night shift and I don’t feel that my company accommodates night shift enough. Yes, we have less work in the hospital but the shift is mentally, physically, and socially demanding.
I just get that 😅 it was funny
The company I work for has a 3 percent cap on raises this year.
My employer just gave me a total garbage raise. Needless to say, i will be leaving soon…
I have been getting cut with below inflation raises for 3 years in a row. Am I the sucker for not leaving?
“Hey great work this year but you DO NOT qualify for our 3% merit increase.” “Here’s a $600 bonus in your check for COLA!” “Please clap for us on the Best Places to Work survey when it hits your inbox.”
Grrrrrrrrrr😤
When should one expect a pay raise ? Assuming they just started
It’s normally annual and dependent on performance
How do you blame people for job hopping? Should be mandatory in the US for a pay raise. Or pension CASE CLOSED. What if we based wages off of age Reach a certain age your salary goes up to a certain level. Productivity still gets promoted but you cant stall wages. Everyone goes up. And the old saying that this promotes laziness is a joke. If everyone goes up WHO CARES.. It's all about the Benjamin's in the end.
