Barbra has always been my favorite singer. I will add Lara to that list. I watched Lara’s 1999 From Lara With Love concert in 2022. It gave me an appreciation of how an artist uses their instrument and how they are able to connect to their audience emotionally by their physical gestures. What a perfect performance…so satisfying..

wow! Wow! WOW! and I say this not just bcz she was AH! MAZE! ING! but also bcz to publicly sing songs so deeply & strongly associated with Ms. Streisand (who is unquestionably one of the best, most talented singers on the planet) is quite the bold move. But I do NOT see Ms. Fabian singing this song *at* Ms. Streisand; as in a competitive way. I see Ms. Fabian singing this song *to* Ms. Streisand as a way to compliment her and pay homage to Ms. Streisand & her once in a century singing skills.
This is purely vocally best version of this song ever done in live. Lara has done this few other times too. And maybe the most entertaining version is the one in Pure concert from 1997. It was more theatrical, more acted. But vocals here...just flawless. Almost like she was really concentrating on those notes, that she didn't do though. She never lets anything to take away something from the song itself and how to express the lyrics. It's just her unbelievable talent that she can sing these live on this level. Nobody else can. Just astounding performance!
Sounds to me like parts of it are autotuned or pitch corrected, especially the first song. I can hear the artifacts at times. You you can especially here it in the opening vocalise part.

I commented this on another person who did this cover. I hear people sing this song and even if they hit all the notes and their tone is perfect, this is a song of anguish, confusion, hopelessness and hope and being lonely. If they can't convey the story, it's a hard pass.

Lara's performance is live. The only live performance I have seen by Barbra was in 2016 when she was much older and didn't do the songs justice. Can you point me to any live performance of these songs by Barbra when she was at her prime?
The original version of Streisand’s piece of sky was LIVE, no joking. She always records with and in front of a live orchestra from beginning to ending (as in that money note is absolutely real and very authentic) no doctoring or enhancing etc.. keep in mind that you don’t get to her level and for 60 years maintain , without being 100% That’s why people have a hard time with believing, cause she’s just that good. But I know for a fact that Lara and Regine know this, respect it and a very grateful to be in her league, cause there is plenty of room. I love them all!!!

Lara is excellent but the sound production very much "muted" her belts and detracted from her natural resonance. It made her sound very throaty, much more than usual. Not a fan of that.
Check out Lara's video 'Adagio', right at the end when you think it couldn't go higher it absolutely blows you away. She also writes better world class songs than Celine (if Celine writes at all) and has by far the best emotive hand action deliveries you can find. 'Broken Vow' etc. Sorry you haven't done enough research I think. Lara leaves Celine noticeably behind in more than just a vocalist.
I think it's the same with you, you need to learn to write. Pronounciation, Lara is not english. Her first language is french (and italian). What comes to emotion, it was decent. It's not her song as you know. But i agree that emotion is better in her 1997 version. But vocals are better here and better than in Barbra's live.
