I was told not to make An Inspector Calls.

I directed An Inspector Calls while I was attending university in Oxford. I decided to make a feature film for my dissertation but before I could get started I had to pitch the project to my learning coordinator.
He told me that the project was too ambitious, I had just under 4 months to make the film and submit it for grading. They told me I simply wouldn't have time and I'd surely fail.
I replied by saying "I can do it, just watch me"
Five years later and the film has now been viewed two million times!
I was just happy to finish the film on time and get my degree... but I never expected my student project to blow up online and reach over two million views. 🤯
I'm insanely proud, and incredibly grateful for everything.
