She had sung in many films and acted too as a child artist under the patronage of Master Vinayak. After his death her life was at cross roads, no chances coming forth nobody to help. It was her luck or destiny that she met Master Ghulam Haider , he requested producer of Majboor to insert a song for Lata, also he called all the composers Naushad, Hussanlal Bhagatram etc to his home and asked them to give her songs and Lataji's career is launched from there. Thereafter after her father's Denise she sang next song for another Marathi film Pahili Mangalagaur. Her introduction in Hindi movie was in film Aapki Sewa Mein. Hence Ghulam Haider did not introduce her. However a big credit goes to his excellent observation and belief that made Lata popular through film Majboor so ng. Like he pointed she became number 1 with no one close to her even till date. Greats Ghulam Haider and Lata Mangeshkar are gens of Indian Music
