I would argue that GCN Bowsers Castle has the best soundtrack, its super underrated and has everything a bowsers castle soundtrack needs its just epic! If it made a return and got berlin byways or rainbow road treatment it would be an S teir track via soundtrack alone

I think pretty much every rainbow road theme is at least a bop SNES: is simple, but actually pretty solid for its time N64: you all know why N64 RR is good GBA: is a fun sounding track, probably the weakest of them, but pretty good (not really any competition tho) DS: is one of the better DS course themes (still doesn’t hold a candle to waluigi pinball) GCN: is very deserving of its love, it just sounds like what a rainbow road should sound like Wii: Where do I even begin with Wii? Really good song, and has SMG references in it, which is always appreciated 3DS: you all know why 3DS is good WiiU/Switch: it sounds spacey, which is pretty freaking good. TLDR: all Rainbow Road themes are good in one way or another

Every time I listen to the original version of 3DS Rainbow Road it just makes me sad that everything I loved about it was stripped away in the remix. It used to be beautiful and adventurous, now it’s like a rave and doesn’t fit the atmosphere at all
I actually agree. I’m not a huge fan of the rave and miss the more sweeping adventures tone. The moon used to sound so beautiful and introspective now it just sounds lame
