Dileesh Pothen has told in an interview that Joji could not be considered an adaptation of Macbeth. He loved the play from his college days, and during the pandemic they wanted to do something and he and the screenwriter Syam Pushkaran (writer of kumbalangi nights), made this just taking Macbeth as an inspiration.

I think Dr. Felix played by Shammi Thilakan is the wicth. He didn't play the witch throughout the movie but I guess the way he calls Joji 'millionaire' (when Joji drops him off)- is a prophecy made by the witch that the time has come and Macbeth is gonna be the king!!! Bincy's genius is that, instead of provoking her husband like Lady Macbeth did, she insidiously galvanizes her brother-in-law into action with a few whispers. With appan & his two sons gone, the kingdom becomes hers & her husband's. The lack of a mother's presence, the milk of human kindness so to speak, is felt through its keen absence. It's in this harsh landscape that a weakling like Joji is repeatedly emasculated by alpha males like appan & Jomon. The murders maybe his attempt to reclaim his manhood, but he descends into incapacity in the process.
If you'd like to watch another brilliant adaptation of Shakespeare, do take a look at 'Kaliyattam', based on 'Othello'.

True but heard fafa say he kept losing more to show the physical offsetting between his father and brothers vs him

Joji is more inspired from KGGeorge 's Irakal rather than Macbeth...

Actually what you interpret about Joji's final note was wrong..You feel like that peripherally because of the nuance of Joji's character..But the very essence of the movie has shown in that single message..Actually joji as a psycho was the product of society's especially his kins dominating nature towards him..What joji actually needs was not money or wealth,,it was actually freedom, individuality which was stolen from him by others..He was mistreated like a kid, nobody bothers his openion, they all consider him as a stupid person which make his character like that...
