    This is what we experienced when we have towed our RV to Canada, except we also were told to pull over and they inspected the inside of our camper. We have not gone in our Airstream yet, because of these past experiences, we are a little hesitant. That Boondockers Welcome was pretty small! Wise man about taking you out to eat. What a pretty town. "Oh, we could milk the goat, but bread and milk, that's all we got, sorry" 😂 My, how far we have come! -Michelle

      I think they ask just about all RVERS the same questions. Then they randomly pull people over to inspect. They boarded our friends and went through their refrigerator. We drove straight through. She played the party very well. Lol. Safe travels.

    Wow! They really asked you a lot of questions. I don’t remember having to answer that many. 😮😂. Oh, yeah, that would have been a tight fit. Dinner looked good and such a cute town.

      They did ask a lot of questions. We were a bit nervous. We loved this little town. There was so much to do in the area. Safe travels.

    I want to visit Canada but man they ask many questions. I think it's much easier on the west coast to get in Canada. Still want to visit.

      I kind of thought they would ask the same questions everywhere, but I don't know. I do know it's way easier in a car than in an rv. You should go. Safe travels.

      These were just basic questions, try being a Canadian entering the US. If Trump is re-elected Americans are going to need a visitors visa to enter Canada.

    Crossing the border is such a pain sometimes. I get the border patrol has a job to do but they just grill you. It can be so annoying. When we crossed back into USA north of Seattle the guy couldn't understand why we had dirty clothes in a few trash bags. We said because we've been traveling for 3 weeks and hadn't rewashed all the dirty clothes yet. He also didn't understand why I had driven from Florida to Vancouver and then searched our vehicle. He nearly made us miss our cruise. Last person on ship was at 3pm and we got there at 2:55pm. Guy held us at border crossing for nearly 2 hours just questioning us.

    • @RVAmerica

      That's just crazy. The person I front of us had to pull over and they went through his camper. We felt blessed to just get a few questions. Lol. Safe travels. 😊

    I understand the "need: for security these days, but both the US and Canada will let any "declared illegal" in unchecked (outside a stationary border location) yet micro manage their "need to know" everything about your lifestyle when you do what you should do by being at a checkpoint. In the EU, you just drive on/train on through country to country. We stopped traveling to Canada (NS and PEI) about 6 years ago; it was just too crazy, especially when I as asked to open up my computer and phone at the border getting back to my own country.. Love the Maritimes though; enjoy the trip!

    • @RVAmerica
      @RVAmerica  Месяц назад

      I think it's kind of crazy too. They've also set new rules for pets. A legal immigrant can get into the country easier than you can bring your pet into it. I guess it's all about priorities. 😊 safe travels.

      Senior citizens are one of the more prolific smuggler groups around, they often drive large vehicles where plenty of contraband can be hidden, and many smuggle for financial gain. Even a physical search may not reveal the contraband. All those questions asked aid the border patrol in assessing border crossers as to whether further scrutiny is required.
      Regarding flying to a different country by plane, that is almost completely different. Airport agents already know about you from the airplane manifest, when you show up at the border patrol counter, you are not a surprise. Your baggage was xrayed at your point of departure (that happened to me, TSA opened my bag and looked at my solid metal thermos, they left a note stating nothing found) and also at the incoming airport- Xrayed bags flagged at the incoming airport gets you special scrutiny, the computers tied to the xrays can identify plant material and can identify characteristics of smuggling on their own, after which it is flagged to a human.
      Regarding the European Union, all of the countries in the Shengen zone do their security at the outside borders or at the airports. Once you clear in, you are good for travel to all of the member countries. Likewise, once you cross into Canada, you can go wherever you want.

      The EU should really be called the United States of Europe. That is how the USA started. Replace "country" with "state" (state being the old term for country in some vernaculars) and you will see what I mean.
