Christine, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. For at least 6 years I tried to convince several doctors including a private specialist that my cycle was behaving irregularly. They all told me it was normal for my age (early to mid-30) and in desperation I opted for an IUD to control my cycle. In hindsight it was a bandaid that has resulted in other symptoms of what was then, a hormonal problem. I get so mad about doctors not listening to women or not knowing enough about womens health to actually help them live full and medically uncomplicated lives.
Christine is so spot on with her estrogen dominance info. I finally went to a functional medicine doctor and she has changed my life.. Christine's custom meal plans is my next step--I start the plan tomorrow :)
This is so great. I realized I was estrogen dominant more than 2 yrs ago. Had small fibroids and horrific cycles, the first thing the doctor did was offer bc, it did not work at all…I began basically figuring it out myself. -I cut out meat entirely (pescatarian) -Eat very few starchy carbs -Use a menstrual cup and natural products -Stopped taking any form of birth control -Still struggle with finding time to workout routinely which then stresses me out.
My personal experience, 98% of my patients refuse to change their habits. So we have to turn to medicine. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to motivate my patients to change their lifestyle, and most people do not like change. That’s probably why most providers won’t just order an estrogen level. They know that stats on people actually trying to change their habits and feel it isn’t worth it. Usually they just give a nutrition/dietician referral and be on to the next patient. It’s a numbers game, too. Sad truth.
My doctor never even asked me about diet or lifestyle. She went straight to surgery for my condition. Then I told her I’d lost 15 pounds and would like to try and correct estrogen dominance and she told me I could try but wouldn’t be successful at reversing or putting my issues into remission. She discouraged me.
I can’t afford to eat all grass fed, non gmo. The biggest problem is that healthy food is expensive. I think a lot of people know what to eat but simply can’t afford it.
I think as she states, do what best you can when you can afford to. Veggies are well priced yes slightly pricier then conventional non organic versions however, shop in season foods in this category as it will help with cost. Grass fed is expensive for smaller portions and as a mom of 3 family of 5 yes this is too expensive to do at all times. But examples are celery, brussel sprouts, spinach, squash, sweet potato, mixed greens, green beans, beans in general for fiber content, are reasona lg priced. If we focus on this side of filling out plates you'll slowly realize you rely less on the protein portion of a dish and in return also spending less on a cut of meat to be filling. Fish is somewhat reasonable if you buy in bulk. As are other food products. Just small tips to cut down on other purchases like the packaged processed foods.
I've been off birthcontrol for many years now (I'm 27) and it was the best decision I ever made! I learned how to track my body's cycle. As for stress....I have been practicing meditating, as well as conscious body checks throughout the day. So about every hour I feel out where I'm holding tension and I focus on releasing and relaxing. I hold a ton of tension in my neck, shoulders and oddly feet! So taking the time to relax is so important.
Just came across you’re video !!! I’m soooo pleased I did. I started HRT 6 months ago and increased the oestrogen because I still wasn’t feeling the benefits…. I’m now starting to think I have oestrogen dominance and my issue was actually I couldn’t detox my oestrogen properly in the 1st place which caused my symptoms (ie. Pms, joint aches etc) now my belly is so bloated and I’ve gained 6lbs even though I’ve never worked so hard. Needless to say I stopped my HRT last week and am working on my gut health and liver detox. Wish me luck 🙏🏽
listen i would love to do what you do , because docs say dont auto evaluate yourself. but up until now i have evaluated my problems and helped them better than any doctor . wich i was actually going to be but motherhood took me a different direction . but i had nexplanon BC and it ruined my body , i gained weight, had hormonal acne , felt like i had another person inside me . i got depression. it was a mess i took it off , i eat healthy i walk but i noticed nothing was working for me so i said its a hormonal problem i have did research and exactly that. now i am watching these videos to help me guide myself. because even eating healthy had not helped because i was not taking in enough fiber . enough of nothing lol
Yes chronic stress is very real and toxic. I have taken upon my self to relax and reduce stress. Funny thing is that I hadn't realized my condition until recently. I believe that this is something easily ignored.
So much of this is true. I sent some of your videos to some people I know who don't need to be on a hormone birth control and it's like they know it's the easy way out. Yet they want to lose weight... They don't trust what isn't being told by the prescribing doctor and when the doctor says take this RX they just don't question them. Sometimes I feel they have to want to get off the RX and they have to want to eat healthier and exercise. I had a doctor in 2019 who wanted me to be on 3 pills and get surgery to get me to lose weight fast. I didn't do any of it. It's not always the right way to go for everyone. I'm glad I didn't go that route. Thanks for everything you've done for me! 💜💜
I think estrogen dominance may be the cause of my panic attacks. They seem to happen right before and after ovulation. 🤔 I was looking at charts and that is when estrogen spikes up during our cycle. Going to go watch the rest of your vids on this
Thank you thank you for doing this series. I’m the only female in my family to go through perimenopause so I’m clueless about all these changes my body is going through.
I follow all those guidelines; I use clean personal products/household cleaners, I have a physical job and walk lots, not taking hormones, I eat whole organic food, we raise our own meat, very few starchy carbs, no processed foods (other than what I make from scratch) BUT I have a terrible sweet tooth and have a hard time cutting the sugar. Do you have tricks and tips for dealing with sugar cravings? I believe that is the only thing holding me back from attaining my goals. I’m almost 46 and have started peri menopausal.
Wow, I’ve been following you on Insta for a long time but never really came on RUclips to see your videos and I’m so happy I came to your page 🥺 I have been working out and eating pretty clean and I just can’t get the weight off! This explains a lot I feel a different type of bloatness and im so over feeling this way. Thanks for this I’m so motivated to make the changes I have to do in order to feel my normal self again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have been trying for 3 weeks to get an appointment with my OBGYN to get my Mirena IUD removed. She's insistent that I keep it for various reasons and it feels like her nurse is avoiding me. These doctors really are bullies.
Absolutely love your channel. Your videos are always so informative. I went from being under so much stress a few years ago and finding out my estrogren was so low it was in the pre menopausal range (in my early 20s). I was able to get it back up with some amazing health changes. Now my estrogen and estradiol is high 😭 i’m like what a 180 lol smh idk
I am a kidney transplant patient so was told I cant eat organic products but I can eat lots of fiber food. My sugar levels have always been great. I am trying to get my phosphorus and potassium up after being on dialysis for 8 years so they advise me to drink fat free milk which I do now after not drinking milk for years but I drink lactose free. I will use this video to base around my diet. I lost 15lbs but its been hard to get the other 20 i need to lose OFF even with exercising and counting calories
i'm using a very low dose estrogen birth control as a contraceptive only. Luckily, it hasn't given me any issues! But I agree with eveything you are saying. Thank you for your educational videos. 🙏🏻
I'm way too nervous to quit birth control ☹️ I'm 36 but still young enough to get pregnant. I have a son that just turned 18 but I don't want anymore children 🥺
Christine I love all you share in regards to this important topic, as we women suffer in silence with this struggle and it is REAL! Can't wait for your Hormone plan that is due to come out later this month I think?? Are you still on track for this program, can't wait?
Thank you so very much you have taught me alot. I have made huge changes in my diet amd supplements. It is making a HUGE difference. My books are too big and I have tried every diet. I am staying away from all soy products. Eating super clean non gmo certified organic. Thank you so much for your knowledge and time.
before birth control, my periods were extremely heavy, painful, and lasted about 10-12 days. going off it is simply not an option for those of us like that tbh
Try to ask your obgyn about birth control pills that dont contain estrogen, i have cysts and adenomyosis, my obgyn suggested birth control that only contain progesteron..
This is spot on! It makes so much sense with what my Naturpath told me, I’m currently on a plant based whole food diet to correct PCOS among other issues
I do gain only belly fat but when I diet I loose it quickly. Can I still be estrogen dominant. I am 47 and eat lots of cruciferous veggies and fibre and still gain belly fat and where I live hormone specialists won't check hormones. They just say it's a slow metabolism which is unlikely because I am very active. So can loosing the fat but gaining the belly back even with healthy eating mean estrogen dominant?
Fantastic content....would love to know what you consider low impact workouts. I use your mesomorph plan and running and walking for cardio , is that too much high impact? Xx
Hello there! Would you recommend getting rid of animal products entirely? I think I’m estrogen dominant but I am having the hardest time giving up grass fed meat and organic eggs. Should it be minimized or is it safe? Also, what about cervical polyps in regard to the caffeine comment. Will they grow in response to say, one cup of organic coffee per day?
My OB-Gyn did not tested me, I asked for it, but she recommended for me to use Estrogen and Progesterone. I've been taken them for 3 month (May-Jul) and just want to quite them all at once.
Hi i learned so much from your videos and you well explain everything thank you. Is there any way you may do one about high testosterone in women and what is causing that testosterone hormone spark up in women body. Ive suffered of this for almost 3 years and have symptoms which include unwanted hair growth. Also does having high testosterone does it potentially have affect or anything to do with infertility.
i've read that supplements like Evening Primrose Oil and Maca Root help your body balance your hormones. they're "adaptogenic" supplements, i think they're called.
Is hormonal belly and endomorph body type the same? I’ve had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago and I STILL am stuck and can’t lose weight. Should I follow the endomorph protocol and add fiber?
I have endometriosis, my hormonal IUD is the only thing that has helped it. Can't I still cleanse my hormones with it? I have tried taking out my iud and the pain is unbearable.
Can being pregnant with a girl affect your estrogen? Or boy pregnancies your getting testosterone? I'm just asking because I've had 6 kids in 10 years and boy pregnancies I didn't gain much weight, with the 4 girls I definitely did. My body is a mess.😥
agree, I did the same. not too expensive, I think I payed 500$ including reading by a women's health expert and a startup protocol including supplements, diet and exercise general recommendation.
It is absolutely disgusting!!! I have a 9 cm fibroid. Feminine cancers on both sides of my family. GYN refused to test my hormones while eagerly recommending radiation method. I just ordered my own hormone tests from lowest cost company I found, Life Extension. Now I have to find someone to help me adequately interpret the tests. I have a PhD going through this! I. An only imagine what the typical person goes through in this traditional western medicine approach 😢

Where I live, grass fed is not even available
This is my problem as well. Organic is expensive and for those of us on lower incomes it isn't entirely feasible.
