I am so glad that you've taken this decision. Every time I heard you talk about how you were experiencing stress revolving around "what to put out on video this week for you all", I cringed internally for you. Art should never be something that is done out of pressure for a deadline. And I hear alot of "online" artists who make reference to that stress of putting out of a video for this week, etc. I would even go as far as to say that even if you go for 3 weeks without putting out a video, that's ok. We'll still be here when your latest video comes out, and we'll enjoy it whenever you put it out. And whatever it is you put out. Regardless of whether it's doodly, non-doodly, regardless of the color palette. Art for yourself, first and foremost. Not for the online views. I also agree ......art is something that flows from your inner spark...if you push yourself so hard that you feel like you've are burning out you could lose that inner creativity. I'm okay with watching reruns of past videos because I learn from many of past ceecee videos..

I wanted to try watercolor for so long, my mother painted so beautifully when I was a child, but I was afraid to give it a try, afraid I would not be good at it. But then, I saw one of your videos, then another, and I tried. I don't know if I'm good, I don't know if I'm talented, but thanks to you, I don't care, I just enjoy the process. You inspired me, by your authenticity, your simplicity, you encouraged me not to do a masterpiece, just to let go, and try. For that, I never could forget you, and I thank you, sincerely. I think it's so important to be kind and true to yourself. There is no point in keep bashing out videos if they don't bring you joy, or the process squashes your creativity. I always make a conscious decision to only make the content I want to make, viewer requested subjects get put on a list, I may get to them, I may not, but I keep them (mentally) as requests so they don't overwhelm me. I also don't try to chase the "algorithm" or "double-down" on my more popular content. I make my videos because I enjoy them and the process, if I reach a point where I don't I'll make sure I stop. The world only has one CeeCee, so please look after yourself xx

I so, so get you CeeCee.. especially when you talk about being divided. It is very hard to be an artist AND a business person because these two occupations require opposite qualities, and yet these days we artists need to fulfill all the parts: creativity, media production, business, self-promotion etc.. It makes no sense and it is a slow but sure inspiration killer. Maybe you could hire someone to help you in some aspects of the work. Also, we would not forget you even if you posted one video every 2 months! Look after yourself, that’s number 1 xx

Good on you for taking action for yourself, your physical, mental and emotional health..
Agreed. I just had a housefull of guests for the past 5 days, and while it was a joyful reunion, I kept finding myself overwhelmed and had to keep taking alone breaks. It occurred to me halfway through that I hadn't had this much activity, noise and excitement in nearly 18 months. I think we need to understand that we've been through a trauma (and we're not over it) and recovery will take time, as individuals and as a society.
Yours was the first video I ever watched that heralded the birth of my love for watercolor and ink. I wish you the peace you offer to others through your encouraging words and heart for the medium.

Good Morning CeeCee, your notification popped up just as I sat down with my morning coffee. I began watching in the quiet of the morning and once again you were “creatively teaching” . I think social media sometimes makes even those of us that aren’t instructors feel pressured to create. We see all of these wonderful artists producing art piece after art piece and wonder why we aren’t as prolific. We may not realize that the creating is the fun part, but sharing it can be the tedious part. I too struggle with getting quiet and listening to what my authentic self leads me to create. Often, nothing gets created. So your decision to slow down is an important lesson for all of us. I subscribe to many art YT channels, but you are always my top choice. I ride my bike in the mornings and can’t even think of doing so without you. You are an artistic port in a storm of YT content. I hear your voice, your music, and watch your use of color and I instantly relax. Your message comes through to “relax and enjoy creating”. You have graciously created so much lovely content that new followers have lots of choices and old followers can enjoy countless replays. I personally want to thank you in advance for future content. Life is more fun when we have something to look forward to, personally I will appreciate your content perhaps a bit more with two posts a month. Everybody is allowed to take a break! Those of us that create are forced to take breaks or our art will be affected! I’m sad you feel such stress planning the videos because the videos I like the most is those you make spontaneously 🥰. You don’t have to plan what to make or what mediums to use neither the colors in advance. Of course there’s the risk that things won’t work out as we see them in our heads but that’s a huge part of creating. We won’t judge (at least I won’t judge) because the thing I most like to watch from you is your creational process and how you evolve a piece. Take care of yourself and you will create things we like to watch! A happy Ceecee is worth eons more than a “perfect” video 💕

Cee Cee how could we forget you, you are the person who inspired me to pick my paint brushes that have sat in my cupboard since my school days, some 42 years ago, I never threw them away wanting to learn watercolours but always too scared I wasn’t capable until I came across your tube channel by chance. I’m a beginner I have much to learn but thanks to you I am learning, your tutorials gave me the confidence to give it a go, I can’t thank you enough. You are absolutely making the right decision for you, painting should never be a chore or a stress, it has to come from the heart when the heart is ready. I began watching your videos last spring during Covid and went from someone with zero skill, zero ability to paint or draw to a reasonably confident “artist” who loves to paint everyday. I am indebted to you for teaching me to water color and will never forget you, never stop following you, no matter how few videos you make. I’ve been on a mission to create and share one video per week only since the beginning of the year and it’s a struggle. The creating is not an issue per say, but when I try to create in the hopes of pleasing and growing an audience, I lose some of the joy of creating. (And I don’t necessarily create the work I’d love to be creating for a number of different reasons - length and complexity of the process, mainly).Then, the biggest chunk of this creative process is spent on video editing (and I’m still so new to the process) and this is so draining. I applaud you for making this shift and for listening not only to your loving friends, but most importantly, to yourself. What you do matters and it always will. ❤️ Stay true to yourself and the people who really matter will love you and support you no matter what. ❤️🙏

My husband keeps pushing me to sell my art, and I have said "you set it up and I'll provide the art". But I can't get the two. You have done so well, and your art has to come from your heart. I am so glad that you've taken this decision. Every time I heard you talk about how you were experiencing stress revolving around "what to put out on video this week for you all", I cringed internally for you. Art should never be something that is done out of pressure for a deadline. And I hear alot of "online" artists who make reference to that stress of putting out of a video for this week, etc. I would even go as far as to say that even if you go for 3 weeks without putting out a video, that's ok. We'll still be here when your latest video comes out, and we'll enjoy it whenever you put it out. And whatever it is you put out. Regardless of whether it's doodly, non-doodly, regardless of the color palette. Art for yourself, first and foremost. Not for the online views. I also agree ......art is something that flows from your inner spark...if you push yourself so hard that you feel like you've are burning out you could lose that inner creativity. I'm okay with watching reruns of past videos because I learn from many of past ceecee videos..

I think it's so important to be kind and true to yourself. There is no point in keep bashing out videos if they don't bring you joy, or the process squashes your creativity. I always make a conscious decision to only make the content I want to make, viewer requested subjects get put on a list, I may get to them, I may not, but I keep them (mentally) as requests so they don't overwhelm me. I also don't try to chase the "algorithm" or "double-down" on my more popular content. I make my videos because I enjoy them and the process, if I reach a point where I don't I'll make sure I stop. The world only has one CeeCee, so please look after yourself xx

It is very hard to be an artist AND a business person because these two occupations require opposite qualities, and yet these days we artists need to fulfill all the parts: creativity, media production, business, self-promotion etc.. It makes no sense and it is a slow but sure inspiration killer.
Maybe you could hire someone to help you in some aspects of the work. Also, we would not forget you even if you posted one video every 2 months! Look after yourself, that’s number 1 xx

Hi Ceecee, I’m hearing this scenario from so many people, I believe COVID has enabled or forced many to slow down, breath and take stock of their lives, perhaps this is one of the positives to come from this dreadful n scary situation. Good on you for taking action for yourself, your physical, mental and emotional health..
Agreed. I just had a housefull of guests for the past 5 days, and while it was a joyful reunion, I kept finding myself overwhelmed and had to keep taking alone breaks. It occurred to me halfway through that I hadn't had this much activity, noise and excitement in nearly 18 months. I think we need to understand that we've been through a trauma (and we're not over it) and recovery will take time, as individuals and as a society.

Good Morning CeeCee, your notification popped up just as I sat down with my morning coffee. I began watching in the quiet of the morning and once again you were “creatively teaching” . I think social media sometimes makes even those of us that aren’t instructors feel pressured to create. We see all of these wonderful artists producing art piece after art piece and wonder why we aren’t as prolific. We may not realize that the creating is the fun part, but sharing it can be the tedious part. I too struggle with getting quiet and listening to what my authentic self leads me to create. Often, nothing gets created. So your decision to slow down is an important lesson for all of us. I subscribe to many art YT channels, but you are always my top choice. I ride my bike in the mornings and can’t even think of doing so without you. You are an artistic port in a storm of YT content. I hear your voice, your music, and watch your use of color and I instantly relax. Your message comes through to “relax and enjoy creating”. You have graciously created so much lovely content that new followers have lots of choices and old followers can enjoy countless replays. I personally want to thank you in advance for future content. Life is more fun when we have something to look forward to, personally I will appreciate your content perhaps a bit more with two posts a month. Think of yourself as a creative rare flower that only blooms twice a month, but is always worth the wait! Thanks again CeeCee for what you do.

I’m sad you feel such stress planning the videos because the videos I like the most is those you make spontaneously 🥰. You don’t have to plan what to make or what mediums to use neither the colors in advance. Of course there’s the risk that things won’t work out as we see them in our heads but that’s a huge part of creating. We won’t judge (at least I won’t judge) because the thing I most like to watch from you is your creational process and how you evolve a piece.
Take care of yourself and you will create things we like to watch!

Cee Cee how could we forget you, you are the person who inspired me to pick my paint brushes that have sat in my cupboard since my school days, some 42 years ago, I never threw them away wanting to learn watercolours but always too scared I wasn’t capable until I came across your tube channel by chance. I may have counted wrong (distracted by all the videos that I hope to see) but for the last twelve years you have produced about 663 videos on this platform, not to mention what you have shared on Patreon. CeeCee, if anyone deserves to slow down it is you. I applaud you for your insight and wisdom to know how to take care of yourself. You have left us enough content on here to last a really really long time, so when I'm missing you on the "off" week I will enjoy watching from your very first video and working my way to the present time. I began watching your videos last spring during Covid and went from someone with zero skill, zero ability to paint or draw to a reasonably confident “artist” who loves to paint everyday. I am indebted to you for teaching me to water color and will never forget you, never stop following you, no matter how few videos you make. You need to do what’s right for you and we’ll all cheerfully support you! I hope you’re feeling better soon.

Of course you will not be forgotten! ❤️🤗 I watched this video with tears in my eyes because I could feel every word you said. It’s tough to do this work. It’s tougher than most could imagine. I’ve been on a mission to create and share one video per week only since the beginning of the year and it’s a struggle. The creating is not an issue per say, but when I try to create in the hopes of pleasing and growing an audience, I lose some of the joy of creating. (And I don’t necessarily create the work I’d love to be creating for a number of different reasons - length and complexity of the process, mainly).Then, the biggest chunk of this creative process is spent on video editing (and I’m still so new to the process) and this is so draining. I applaud you for making this shift and for listening not only to your loving friends, but most importantly, to yourself. What you do matters and it always will. ❤️ Stay true to yourself and the people who really matter will love you and support you no matter what. ❤️🙏

Although I will miss seeing you here weekly (it is one of the highlights of my week) I will now look forward to whenever you have capacity to post. Oh CeeCee, just want to reach out and hug you!!! What little emoji says we will not forget you and your works. To meld the artistic with the business seems almost impossible and is what I have admired about you from way back in time. My husband keeps pushing me to sell my art, and I have said "you set it up and I'll provide the art". But I can't get the two. You have done so well, and your art has to come from your heart. Can't come from business. Please just take care of you and it will all work as it should.
I am, of course sorry to lose my weekly quiet creative boost from you. Thank you SO much for getting me through the last year and all its extraordinary challenges. It is much appreciated.
That being said, I wish you much joy in time to breathe and lose the pressure of the grind. I totally understand your instant stress when accepting a commission. It is the same for me, with the same panic that starts when I actually commit to something. We will all benefit from your relaxation of spirit so you can paint again with joy.
