But you need to be careful what you wish for. It gets too popular and you end up dealing with a fanbase of 12 year olds. If anything, the small fanbase is a side result of being a show that the 'elites' of the medium can enjoy without debasing itself to the level of the common show. Shows like Monster, and Serial Experiments Lain, have small communities because they don't dumb themselves down so that everyone gets what's going on, and that quality makes them so much better for those capable of following the story without being bored senseless by the lack of action.
If this list was longer GTO would have been on it. I had to cut it because It didn't feel right recommending something I'm still only most of the way through. Need to finish watching it soon.
@@יהונתןקור Because the fanbase in anime industry mostly about shounen. Monster has smaller community where many mature fans really take their time to understand monster and enjoy this realistic anime. Many shounen anime have unrealistic elements like magic,...(like Deathnote, Hunter x hunter, Onepiece, Naruto, Fairy tail....) but monster took away all of that. It's a serious serie. I get used to watching fast pace anime about shounen until i watch Monster. It's not a one time anime. I had watched some reviews that said this is a slowly paced anime before i carefully watch this anime for the first time and turns out it is, a brilliant story. Another thing i want to say is many say the plots are pretty predictable. And they said like this stuff must be johan doing, or his man blabla...But they dont really pay attention to whats the meaning behind it.Motivation? Thinking? Not to mention since its a realistic anime so who knows Johan's living between us? Or is there Johan in the first place? I've also seen lots of funny comments like why haven't you pull the trigger already? What are you waiting for?( Avoid spoilers if u know who i mention :D ). They don't really understand how a character with a golden heart truly is or even really try to understand for him and with that they said they see through him or even Johan. Some commented like they would kill johan without hesitation if they faced him. But the truth is if Johan know they're those kind of guys, he wouldn't be there in the first place. Control someone's life but not their parents nor teacher, friend or even lover, Johan( in disguise) can do it with just a quick second speech to the government and pretty much control the whole nation if not the world( Butterfly effect?). P/s: I'm really sorry my english is pretty off since its not my first language. Thank you for reading my comment!
The moment I heard Uninstall playing I was just. Awestruck. I'm so glad you've put Bokurano in the spotlight- it's such a phenomenal anime and I'm beyond glad to see it here
Monster has one of the most greatest stories of all time and so one of the greatest phsycological animes ever but in my opinion monster was a bit overstretched it shouldnt have ben 74 episodes the perfect amount for monster would have been atleast 45-60 eps but yes monster is definitely my fave scary phsyco anime
Oh my God Mushishi is the most gorgeous anime ever - it's one of those anime that I love so much I actually don't want to rewatch it ever again so as not to sully the experience of when I first (binge) watched it. The music!!!
I never found the mid-arc of Gurren Lagann boring; I thought it was a change from the normal pace of the story (which some people may see as a downside) but i thought it was "supposed" to suck to convey to us that a world governed by burecratic bs DOES suck. Probably saw too far deep into it, but I love the show all the same. I remember your review of Kino's Journey and still haven't gotten to watch it, mostly because if I want to properly watch a show I try to buy it instead of free-stream it.
I was actually surprised to see it on the list. I mean, I kinda get it, but I thought the ending was terrible, so I thought it was normal to not see it on the first list.
+ScarFearz if you want a really great ending for it watch the second movie adaptation of Gurren. The final fight is my favourite scene in the whole series.
+Jared Tournier it does make it THAT much more enjoyable. I personally like that ending. A lot. Its a good way to end a show thats about always going forward. Cuz everything has an end
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Tengen Toppa Guren Lagann, Shirobako. I was fangirling so much in the last part of the video xD Good recomendations Arkada, Shirobako is an anime that really needs to be watched.
I'd like to recommend one for you: Gintama. Yeah, it's also super long, but hear me out: 1) Despite being super long, it's an anime that can easily be watched in short chunks or even watch an episode, put it away for a few weeks, then pick it back up again. More than half of the episodes are humorous parodies (and since you're relatively familiar with a lot of the Japanese culture, you should get a lot of it) 2) When it's not parodying or making humorous commentary, there are super awesome kick-ass story arcs (that are rarely longer than 3-5 episodes) 3) It's not a typical shounen. It is, but it isn't. Like, the character is lazy and not all about saving the world 4) Despite all the silliness and humor with dots of bad assery, there is still a lot of heart I know the many episodes is a turn off, but I really do thing you'd appreciate it. It starts off a bit slow because it does need to introduce some characters, but it does pick up and the first episodes are still enjoyable, I think (though, to be fair, I especially watch it for all the kick-ass moments). It's woefully underrated outside Japan (and even a bit here as well), but I super highly recommend it. P.S. I enjoy seeing the return of the glasses. P.P.S. Did you know you were mentioned in "Do they know 90s anime?" from the react/Fine Bros channel?
The fact that Sound of the Sky was on here made me so happy. I suggest you watch it immediately, it's not very long, but it packs so much into what it has. It's visuals are beautiful, same with the music, the characters are memorable, the story that is there (it's mostly slice of life style stuff) is intriguing, and most of all the show has some moments that make you both smile and want to cry.
Technically JoJo does have an ending - Stone Ocean pretty much ended the Saga of JoJo that has been going on since Part 1. Part 7/8 are completely new stories while having some themes from Part 1-6 are there own thing
+Unoriginal Username No, it wasn't on any of the lists. The first entry for the last list was Cowboy Bebop and the first one for this list was Monster.
I just watched berserk a couple days ago and my God I can't wait until this summer for the new season. I recommend watching the berserk movies instead of the old TV series BTW, closer to the animation style that will be in this summers series and the new anime will be a direct sequel to the movies
i think 'rainbow nisha rokubou no shichinin' deserves a spot in this list. It talks about the struggles of 6 prisoners. (I'm not so sure if you mentioned this earlier in your video's, but if you haven't it's an anime worth considering)
Yes,i recommend it too. It is totally different from your usual anime plots. Has awesome characters, suspense and what not. And after watching and speculating on the kind of anime you like(if am not wrong) Arkada senpai you might like it :S. Keep up the good work, really eager to hear your thoughts on it.
Thank you for this continuation Arkada. Monster is my favorite anime, but because of its availability problem, this is probably the closest to an actual review of it I'm gonna get from you.
I liked the introduction of Jojo, the first arc I mean. Not sure why others don't really, it had me hooked through episode 1, and hasn't been a slog at all
I've only read the first JoJo's manga Arc and watched the first ep of New York JoJo's arc. "Where did he hide that tommy Gun?" I meant to keep watching but it was late and have yet to get back to it. Do wish they'd dub it especially given the first arcs take place in english speaking countries and one of my favourite dubs is Baccanno another show that takes place in an english speaking country(flimsy excuse I know)
Damn this is overdue, but your intro and logo is so professional and legit. Well done sir. And I love the content and recommendations, thank you as always.
I have to say that the Monogatari series is a must watch for seasoned anime watchers. It's like doing a line of coke. It's such a great high, but you need to take it portions. You binge a "season", take a break, binge a "season", take break. Rinse, recycle, repeat. The visuals are some of the best I've seen to date. the soundtrack is also really good, but repetitive. The beginning is quite slow, but it picks up in later seasons (more on that later) The characters are funny and each have their own personalities, that in my opinion, you don't see a whole lot, except for Senjougahara (fucking tsunderes) Read the wikia page to find my reasoning behind putting seasons in quotes. Anyway. There are tons of "seasons" I'll leave two links below to watch orders, as well as other information. The first is a reddit thread on r/araragi; www.reddit.com/r/araragi/comments/1mezh0/the_orders_to_monogatari The second is from the Bakemonogatari wikia which will have some of the same information, but it's more of a timeline for the books and anime sereis; bakemonogatari.wikia.com/wiki/Monogatari_Series_Timeline I highly recommend watching it in the order it aired because it was aired that way for a reason.
***** You just proved my point. (Not from personal experience) But when you do coke. You can't hit like a 3 foot line in one go. You gotta hit like 5 inches at a time. The 3 feet being the whole Monogatari series. The 5 inches being each "season"
I´m probably an exception, but I actually watched the whole series in one go and I´d do it again. And I´d really like to hear Arkadas opinion on it in a review. Oh, and Senjougahara best grill.
I feel like Zetsubou-sensei is a safer introduction to that style. As for Isin's writing, I would totally be up for a Katanagatari recommendation. Not that I don't think everyone should watch Hitagi End, but it's... hard.
I remember hearing about Bokurano from your review. As soon as you said it was available on Crunchyroll I went and checked it out. Got to episode 8. Sooooo goood (but really bloody dark). Thanks for the recommendation.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, somehow i feel it to be so underrated, surprisingly matured for its genre. yes there will be fanservice, but the show gets more brilliant over time, and its actually one of those show that actually has character development and drama without killing someone ...
Holy crap. I didn't expect a comment mentioning this anime. Totally agree. Arkada should really get to it. And I'll get into Shirobako because it sounds very similar... kind of. ^_^
ghazal gorji Not necessarily comparing the shows because I can't since I haven't watched Monster or Jojo. And you shut your mouth about it being a stupid show. Are you saying you didn't like it? If so, why? I'm interested to know. ^_^
Yes I've seen it ... and it was your typical cute slice of life show with a bunch of cardboard cut out characters blown way out of proportion and don't make me start on the "romantic" aspect of it ... please do yourself a favour and start watching some better shows ... it's painful to see you missing out
there is nothing wrong with liking a show like that .. nothing ... but considering it to be one of the BEST (timeless show) is just ... well no offence kinda stupid
For those who may have tried to check out Revolutionary Girl Utena and changed their minds, I have two things to tell you that may help anyone looking to check this out. 1. You have to get to Episode 10. And yes, that sucks, because that's a ways in and the episodes that precede it seem very repetitive. Trust me, those first 10 are there for a reason. They are laying the groundwork for all of the ways in which we will Go Deeper later. 2. If you haven't heard the comparison, let me reiterate it for you. Anime fans sometimes refer to Utena as "The Evangelion of the Shoujo genre" and this is 100% accurate. Lots of bizzare symbolism, every character is packed with their own unique psychological issues and it has a Gynax Ending. (Eh hem) That is, a Gynax Ending, but one that is better and more satisfying than the ending of the original ending to the Evangelion series. I make these recommendations because it took me a long, LONG time to give this one a chance. The first time I went to check it out, I turned it off after the intro just because of the art style. The second time I went to check it out, I made it to episode 5 and turned it off because I assumes the rest of the series was going to be just like those first episodes - a lot of repetition and resetting of the status quo. I was wrong. Very wrong and I think it's important that everyone in danger of assuming the same thing I did, knows that.
Both Monster and 20th Century Boys don't get talked about near as much as they should from what I've noticed, Naoki has some of the greatest writing I have ever read. Also so glad you mentioned Jojo because my obsession just keeps growing! Part 3 was so incredible and Part 4 just keeps getting better and better. Kino's journey seems interesting and I don't know if you've mentioned it before but Kids On The Slope is a fantastic anime about music.
Here are just some anime that if I were making the list, I would have included: Fate/Zero Death Note Madoka Magica Gintama Attack on Titan FLCL Welcome to the NHK
I'm so glad you mentioned Planetes and Sound of the Sky. Those are two excellent shows that really don't get enough attention elsewhere. Planetes remains one of my top shows ever, very glad I picked it up after watching your older review of it last summer.
Sorry, the tone is too gooey, it lacks a conclusion (in the 1st season you could at least foresee some kind of development in their relationships). I recommend Hyouka, even though it still lacks a conclusion. It's basically a better version of MyTeenRomanticComedy.

Again no Fate/Zero or Fate series in general recommendations?! :/ I'm surprised you omitted it since you love it so much.

Lol when the anime first came out, I think it only went by His and Her Circumstances and didn't have the Kare Kano in the title. I have read the manga and Akarda is right about how dark it gets lol. Honestly though, I did enjoy the manga.
He does not seem to be a fan of the sports anime genre. There are so many gems there. Do yourself a favor and watch Haikyuu, Initial D and Hajime no Ippo.
Love Bokurano it's been on my favorites list for a long time now. It's also awesome to see the subtle ways Madoka Magica actually makes note of and gives props to Bokurano eg. the chairs in Madoka and Sayaka's rooms and the theory between Kyubey vs Dung Beetle, just to name a few.
I'm so happy you finally put Monster on here!! And Kano and Kare (His and Her circumstances) Prefect! And as an added bonus you added Utena! I just have one more show that I wish could recommend, though to be honesty I only recommend it if you like that kind of thing. It's called Now and Then Here and There. It's a bit old, but what an awesome anime.
I have watched Space Battleship Yamato 2199 twice in two years. I have never watched an anime twice in two years before. Some of my favorite shows of all time, such as FMA: Brotherhood, have only had one full watch-through. Space Battleship Yamato 2199 is now my favorite Sci-Fi anime of all time, and possibly my favorite anime of all time. It strikes the perfect balance between exciting and dynamic battle sequences and heartfelt character moments. I highly recommend you watch it Arkada. I do not think you will be disappointed.
OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO Seriously though. JoJo's is coming. I picked up the first season on DVD at AN and now I'm just debating on if I should exclude Stardust from the initial video and do it separately or combine them. Normally I would combine but Diamonds is still airing so.... In either case, I have a more requested review coming up first, and personal favourite of mine before that.
Well, I think the first 2 parts are fine for a review, since Stardust Crusaders is not only long, but different from the other parts. And trust me, you wouldn't want to wait for DiU to end airing, because even then there's still 4 more parts of JoJo, and it's still ongoing. If you were to combine all of it in a review it would be your longest one yet. Can't wait for the next review!
You totally surprised me when I saw angelic layer on here, ahhh still has me to this day with heavy feels as the first anime I ever watched :) Awesome recommendation I love all the different genres you had to offer :)
Good to know! Thought that what you said in your 2015 recommendations video... but been dying for your review about it because you have reviewed all of my other favourites. Well maybe not all. Still waiting for Baka to Test and Dfrag...someday...maybe? There is still hope :)
Ahhhhh he mentioned Kare Kano ! It's absolutely spectacular, and it's a rom com that has some more darker themes to it at times. I highly, highly recommend reading it as the anime does not to it complete justice !
You missed Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, Akira, Studio Ghibli, Full Metal Panic, GHost in the Shell, Baccano, the works of Mamoru Hosoda, Mushishi, the works of Satoshi Kon, Black Lagoon, Kara no Kyokai, Gankutsuou, Clannad, Princess Tutu, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, Code Geass, the works of Yoshitoshi ABE, Haruhi, Spice and Wolf, Steins;Gate, AnoHana and Soul Eater. List is garbage.
JoJo in a nutshell: Part 1: "DIOOOOO!" Part 2: "NANI!?" And don't forget the THREE AZTEC GODS OF FITNESS Part 3: "ZA WARUDO! TOKI WO TOMARE!" (Dubstep fart) Part 4: coincidences, Duwang~, u ok reatard, i am wood, This feels like a Picnic *chew*, I'LL FIX THE SPAGHETTI. Part 5: "I WANNA BE A GANSTAR!" Part 6: Please watch Shawshank Redemption Part 7: "EAT SHIT ASSHOLE, FALL OFF YOUR HORSE" Part 8: I don't even know what the hell is going on
Yess the recommendations videos are the best. Monster I think everyone can recommend. It's a top 10 manga and the only of Urasawa's work that was animated. Johan is such an amazing villain. Also, Planetes is so underrated more people need to watch it. You listed so many shows I never even heard of I'll check some out
Zjersquid I haven't seen all of Gurren Lagann, and I plan to watch it all eventually, but I found that it sort of took a drop after Kamina died. Like, what show kills off the most likable, funny, main character? He was the only reason I watched the show to begin with. That's just my opinion though, if you wouldn't mind I would like to know how the show makes up for this in the later episodes to make it as good as people say.
Holy shit, you recommended Kare Kano! No one pays attention to Kare Kano, but it's frickin' amazing, especially the manga. I usually avoid romances, but this one had so much more than that. Everybody gets a turn in the spotlight, even Arima's adopted parents and real father, and you never feel like you're grinding through filler. In the end, it was very memorable, and I loved all the characters very much (except Arima's mom. ***** that *****).
+Giatsu Akenori Sure. I just didn't saw any drama/comedy/romance/suspension. Maybe I didn't paid proper attention. I really want to appretieate it. Halp!

That was one of the first series I saw in my college anime club! :D I've been plotting an "Anime For Everyone" list in my head, now, and would be open for suggestions on that given a few small criteria (length being a 1 or 2 cour, no offensive material, no meta that beginners wouldn't get). Thank you for bringing back awesome memories!

I got so damn excited when I heard Nichijou's theme start playing! By far my favorite comedy anime of all time! :D
SELEMAT PAGI!
SELAMAT SORE
so glad Nichijou was on the list :D
Agreed! Nichijou is pretty amazing.
You should try Daily Lives of Highschool Boys. I actually find it funnier than Nichijou
I see Johan I click.
by the way...i still haven't found any anime as good as monster
same
Same
I knoooow, it's so underrated, I haven't seen an anime that had such a good writing since I saw monster
@@hidden656 good points
Am I the only one who doesn't think the Hunter Exam arc in HxH is boring?
i like it 😁
Was a very good and entertaining start, also the lack of filler made it feel fresh in comparison to other ones of the same genre.
hunter exam arc is my second favorite behind Spider troupe arc
Too me introduction
I guess you hate the other author's anime yu yu hukasho and opening departure
So when are you reviewing Boku No Pico?
Probably after he reviews Cory in the House and Bible Black
XD
Is it bad i kinda want him too?
Isn't he Canadian? I think that show is illegal in his country because drawings have human rights there.
+Naru1243 why Cory in the house
The moment I heard Uninstall playing I was just. Awestruck. I'm so glad you've put Bokurano in the spotlight- it's such a phenomenal anime and I'm beyond glad to see it here
The entire "Monster" english dub is on RUclips. I mean if the copyright owners find out they'll take it down bc it has a low view count at the moment
Shut up then. Maybe then they wont find it.
Somehow buy this series. But yeah keep it on the downlow then.
I screamed "YAAASSSS!" like 3 times in this list. Thanks Arkada!
Make that 4.
Not 15 lol jk
He should've added Eureka Seven from my perspective.
+camichan19 (Monster, Utena, Kare Kano, and Shirobako)
Monster is AMAZING
Monster has one of the most greatest stories of all time and so one of the greatest phsycological animes ever but in my opinion monster was a bit overstretched it shouldnt have ben 74 episodes the perfect amount for monster would have been atleast 45-60 eps but yes monster is definitely my fave scary phsyco anime
kino's journey and mushishi are a genre of their own honestly.
You could say Natsume Yuujinchou is also of that genre.
Mushsi is good but not the other anime you selected is my favorite
Oh my God Mushishi is the most gorgeous anime ever - it's one of those anime that I love so much I actually don't want to rewatch it ever again so as not to sully the experience of when I first (binge) watched it. The music!!!
Bartender and Natsume's Book of Friends also are a part of the same "genre", or well... realm of shows. I highly recommend them both.
+BoyScouts1 Natsume Yuujinchou is so underrated
4:16 Hey, hey, maybe do a review for Utena? Do a review for Utena. Please. Please.
Do a review on Monster, I just recently finished it. It was so good
I love Monster's OP, it's so atypical and stays consistent throughout one of the longer non-Shonen series in existence
AYYYY GURREN LAGANN :DD I got worries when i didnt see it on the first video xD
worried*
SONO CHI NO SADAME
JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JO!
rerorero
(Insert every JoJo meme)
sono chi no kioku
every jojo comment thread turns out like this but its hilarious haha DO U UNDARSTANNNNNNNNNNNNDUUU xD
I'd like to recommend one for you:
Gintama. Yeah, it's also super long, but hear me out:
1) Despite being super long, it's an anime that can easily be watched in short chunks or even watch an episode, put it away for a few weeks, then pick it back up again. More than half of the episodes are humorous parodies (and since you're relatively familiar with a lot of the Japanese culture, you should get a lot of it)
2) When it's not parodying or making humorous commentary, there are super awesome kick-ass story arcs (that are rarely longer than 3-5 episodes)
3) It's not a typical shounen. It is, but it isn't. Like, the character is lazy and not all about saving the world
4) Despite all the silliness and humor with dots of bad assery, there is still a lot of heart
I know the many episodes is a turn off, but I really do thing you'd appreciate it.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: Slice of life meets suicide jokes.
JoJo's bizarre adventure: Fist of the North Star meets large amounts of LSD.
Code GeASS: penis meets buthole
Enra Versadi With Suzaku's tight, sexy suit, that's a given.
Was just rewatching your 25-ish list and saw this one in my subscription box
TIMING!
SAAAME
Have you watched Blast of Tempest. I thought it was pretty good.
+EvelynGainsborough it's amazing!!
Stone Ocean's ending is god tier - that's all i will say on the subject of that
I'm guessing he means Anime wise since Part 4 is recent. But yeah, got what ya meant.
+Malcolm Neill "god tier" well.. I was confused at that ending
I personally loved the ending - it's easily one of the most bittersweet endings in Manga
I'm still kinda split by the ending, but at least Araki kept doing the Rohan stories after Stone Ocean. He's my favorite character.
Great video as always :)
If you haven't watched "tatami galaxy" yet, please try!
I think it was on the first list.
+Unoriginal Username No, it wasn't on any of the lists. The first entry for the last list was Cowboy Bebop and the first one for this list was Monster.
Omg you mentioned Kare Kano (his and her circumstances) and I love you for that. Seriously one of the greatest shoujo shows/manga ever.
these two list have a severe lack of Gintama in them
RUclips itself has a severe lack of Gintama. I can't find anything about it UGHHH.
Well, After I finish Berserk today I'll go watch Monster.
I just watched berserk a couple days ago and my God I can't wait until this summer for the new season. I recommend watching the berserk movies instead of the old TV series BTW, closer to the animation style that will be in this summers series and the new anime will be a direct sequel to the movies
Everyone watches anime illegally.
berserk movie trilogy blu ray is out june 7 www.google.com/webhp?hl=en#q=Berserk+The+Golden+Age+Arc+Movie+Collection&hl=en&tbm=shop
+xZeequin
Or just read the incredible manga.
Though it is the only manga that i read, so maybe my word doesn't matter much
+xZeequin I recommend both you can never get enough berserk.
The fact that just hearing the opening of Bokurano makes me excited about the series is a testament to how much I love it.
i think 'rainbow nisha rokubou no shichinin' deserves a spot in this list. It talks about the struggles of 6 prisoners. (I'm not so sure if you mentioned this earlier in your video's, but if you haven't it's an anime worth considering)
I've heard of that one! I'll do my best to check it out when I can!
Glass Reflection Sounds great!! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about this anime.
Ahm... and Gintama, Gintoki?
+Crusder1000 Haha Yeah ofc. Tht goes without saying 😂😂
We are finally getting a monster review
i sure hope so
Thank you for this continuation Arkada. Monster is my favorite anime, but because of its availability problem, this is probably the closest to an actual review of it I'm gonna get from you.
Do I Hate Mars Bars.
Perhaps.
they aint no snickers
You should make a video
XD, wrong channel.
+Glass Reflection cool icon Arkada
I liked the introduction of Jojo, the first arc I mean. Not sure why others don't really, it had me hooked through episode 1, and hasn't been a slog at all
I've only read the first JoJo's manga Arc and watched the first ep of New York JoJo's arc. "Where did he hide that tommy Gun?" I meant to keep watching but it was late and have yet to get back to it. Do wish they'd dub it especially given the first arcs take place in english speaking countries and one of my favourite dubs is Baccanno another show that takes place in an english speaking country(flimsy excuse I know)
Part 1 and 2 have a dub
They do? YES Know just to find a way for it to be legally available in Australia. OFF TO ITUNES
Agreed. How can anyone resist Jonathan Joestar and his dreamy eyes?
Mest he was just so optimistic mannn
Damn this is overdue, but your intro and logo is so professional and legit. Well done sir. And I love the content and recommendations, thank you as always.
Yet he didn't recommend Cory in the House?
You just have shit taste
The first is a reddit thread on r/araragi; www.reddit.com/r/araragi/comments/1mezh0/the_orders_to_monogatari
The second is from the Bakemonogatari wikia which will have some of the same information, but it's more of a timeline for the books and anime sereis; bakemonogatari.wikia.com/wiki/Monogatari_Series_Timeline
I highly recommend watching it in the order it aired because it was aired that way for a reason.
Sherwin Parvizian
You have my mad respect for watching the whole series in one go. Tip of the hat my lad. Tip. Of. The. Hat.
Senjougahara best grill.
*****
I could listen to well written and witty dialogue all day.
*****
Let´s be honest, they´re all best grill candidates.
The moment I start hearing Berserk is the moment I hit like button
specially Forces
WOW and followed by HxH, TTGL, JoJo's bizarre adventure, good work
I hit the like button the minute I heard monster.
Beserk is getting a second season/remake this year :)
+Shinigami Yeah, I know, what is hyped may never die, but rises again, but rises hypier and bloodier
And I'll get into Shirobako because it sounds very similar... kind of. ^_^
are you for real ?! that stupid show has no place near the likes of Monster, Jojo or anything else mentioned in this list
ghazal gorji Not necessarily comparing the shows because I can't since I haven't watched Monster or Jojo.
I found Monster on Anime Haven if anyone is interested in watching it.
man this channel has some of the best, non mainstream anime suggestions ever
Both Monster and 20th Century Boys don't get talked about near as much as they should from what I've noticed, Naoki has some of the greatest writing I have ever read. Also so glad you mentioned Jojo because my obsession just keeps growing! Part 3 was so incredible and Part 4 just keeps getting better and better. Kino's journey seems interesting and I don't know if you've mentioned it before but Kids On The Slope is a fantastic anime about music.
CUZ I'M JUST A GIRL WHO CAN'T SAY NO.
CAN'T SEEM TO SAY IT AT ALL
I ALWAYS SAY COME ON LET'S GO! JUST WHEN I OUTTA SAY STOP
WHEN A FELLER WANTS TO KISS A GIRL I KNOW SHE OUGHT TO GIVE HIS FACE A SLAP
BUT WHEN SOMEONE GET A KISSIN' ME I SORTA KINDA WANNA KISS HIM BACK
CAUSE I'M JUST A GIRL WHO CAN'T SAY NO! CAN'T SEEM TO SAY IT AT ALL!
Here are just some anime that if I were making the list, I would have included:
Fate/Zero
Death Note
Madoka Magica
Gintama
Attack on Titan
FLCL
Welcome to the NHK
fat/zero. noice.
watch his other list, it explains why stuff like attack on titan were not on there
fat
+John Leatherwood I know, I've seen that video at least 10 times, but even then it still deserves a recommendation.
+FlamingBlock fair enough, it is really good
I'm so glad you mentioned Planetes and Sound of the Sky. Those are two excellent shows that really don't get enough attention elsewhere. Planetes remains one of my top shows ever, very glad I picked it up after watching your older review of it
last summer.
Glass reflection my teen romantic comedy snafu 2
I completely agree.
That season is so bad...
+Dan BrittleCrump (brittlecrump) huuuuh???? you take that back
Yes pls.
I'm surprised you omitted it since you love it so much.
Finally! TTGL! Was very surprised it wasn't on your original list when that came out.
I'm really happy sound of the sky is on here.
The scenery of sound of the sky is real. It's the city of Cuenca in spain and japanese people go there just to see it because of the anime.
Why is this never in the description?
01. 01:50 Monster
02. 03:15 Revolutionary Girl Utena
03. 04:25 Planetes
04. 05:45 Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei
05. 06:35 Nichijou
06. 07:32 Bokurano
07. 08:45 Sound of the Sky
08. 09:34 Berserk
09. 10:37 Angelic Layer
10. 11:42 Kino's Journey
11. 12:48 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
12. 14:22 Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
13. 15:37 Hunter x Hunter
14. 16:55 His and Her Circumstances
15. 17:51 Shirobako
My work here is done
The answer to your question is actually in the description itself :)
Yes, now that you mention it, there it is xD
Well, at least now you can simply copy-paste it in a few days :)
Because of this video, I began to watch Bokurano and oh god I love it. Thank you so much!
I got so excited when I saw Kare Kano! That underrated gem is definitely in my Top Ten :)
soooo good!
Lol when the anime first came out, I think it only went by His and Her Circumstances and didn't have the Kare Kano in the title. I have read the manga and Akarda is right about how dark it gets lol. Honestly though, I did enjoy the manga.
I have yet to finish the manga, mainly because some of the volumes are out of print. Maybe, I'll just read the scans.
Check at your local library. They might have the whole set.
Ichigo1423jfk I doubt it, given which country I live in!
HXH is on the list so I'm happy.
I'm so very very shallow.
I would have added:
-Fate/Zero
-Fate/Stay Night UBW
-Madoka Magica
-Death Note
-FLCL
-Kill la Kill
-Monogatari
-Nisekoi
-Zankyou no Terror
He does not seem to be a fan of the sports anime genre. There are so many gems there. Do yourself a favor and watch Haikyuu, Initial D and Hajime no Ippo.
I dont even like volleyball, cars and boxing. But man these anime are so damn good. You will get hooked. I swear.
But if you havent watched Monster yet. Do that first. DO IT!
And Ashita no Joe
cogigo Sports anime are the same shit every time.
GR Sorry I don`t remember your name xD, but have you seen NHK ni Youkoso?
I'm so happy you showed angelic layer. It was my first anime and it shaped my childhood. I always find myself rewatching twice a year or so
Was Shin Sekai Yori on the other list? Probably one of best anime works I watched in recent years
Nichijou is available to stream in Australia for those who care
legally
lucky bastards
Glass Reflection for once I guess we are haha
animelab ftw!!!
Listen up, Glass Arkada. Man up and watch _Parasyte the maxim_ already, okay?
Eh. It's not really good enough to require his viewing.
Cabbadath B I believe fair few people would disagree with that statement, fine sir.
Julsmul Point?
Cabbadath B I was just trying to signify your previous comment as an opinion. Many people, including myself, loved Parasyte.
/casual
Parasyte was okay.
Arkada I'm dissapointed, when you mentioned Gurren you failed to mention our lord and Savior, spirals
Ever since Uzomaki, I am terrified of spirals.
When Gainax storyboard gets high.
"Top 15-ish (not top 10) Anime Recommendations" talk about stating the obvious
XD ikr
lol
Your everywhere!!!
I wonder, will you ever do a Review of Hibike Euphonium? And if you do, will you wait for Season 2?
Yes, and maybe. Prob not though. I really want an excuse to rewatch it soon and a review is the perfect excuse :)
Glass Reflection
I really enjoyed my rewatch two months ago. And since your impression in FR was really good too, I bet you will as well :)
ignore my last comment it was a stupid comment
I have watched Space Battleship Yamato 2199 twice in two years. I have never watched an anime twice in two years before. Some of my favorite shows of all time, such as FMA: Brotherhood, have only had one full watch-through.
Space Battleship Yamato 2199 is now my favorite Sci-Fi anime of all time, and possibly my favorite anime of all time. It strikes the perfect balance between exciting and dynamic battle sequences and heartfelt character moments.
I highly recommend you watch it Arkada. I do not think you will be disappointed.
Review JoJo. You have to after this list.
Hell, you look like Speedwagon, it's your destinity Tristan.
OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Seriously though.
+Glass Reflection pleeeeaaaase do it ! Its amazing !!!
I think you should review season 1 and then a separate video for stardust .
Plz review Initial D if you can. I know from older vids you enjoy it :)
CLICKBAIT... MONSTER!!!! I just started monster and its amazing.... DIETERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
soooooo greattttty
Johan is my all time favourite antagonist in anime.
+finn vander likewise
Monster is well....brilliant.
The arc with Mr Grimer made me die inside
This guy is definitely the best reviewer of anime on youtube. Wonderfully fair attitude and articulate speech.
The Irregular at Magic High School. Review recommendation.
STOP RECOMMENDING CHLICHE INCEST OP PROTAGONIST SHITTY MUSIC NO TENSION SAO CLONES.
+Tuff Whoa. Chill. You have your opinion, and I have mine. I like the show, and I well continue to suggest it until Arkada tells me to stop.
+Robbie G *I will continue
Agreed and btw its not a clone of SAO + its ten times better than SAO
Angus Wood nah. OP MC without a personality, shitty one dimensional harem, shitty villains, shitty fights with no tension. It's pretty much SAO.
Watched hunter x hunter in one go.. Like in 1-2 weeks
Almost wanna watch it again
Gonna watch the another author's anime yu yu hukasho
he also have a 12 eps anime called level e and the 1999 version of hxh is worth checking out if you plan to rewatch the series
PLANETES! Holy moly. I'm so happy to see it on your recommendations' list! :D
Mawaru penguindrum isn't super bad I enjoyed it lol
Not great tho but enjoyable
can you please review a anime called kaiji it is a really good anime that i think you would really like thanks
You totally surprised me when I saw angelic layer on here, ahhh still has me to this day with heavy feels as the first anime I ever watched :) Awesome recommendation I love all the different genres you had to offer :)

Arkada watch Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso and make a review out of it already! I need you to praise it because well..u know...I liked it..and stuff...
SOON-ish
Good to know! Thought that what you said in your 2015 recommendations video... but been dying for your review about it because you have reviewed all of my other favourites. Well maybe not all. Still waiting for Baka to Test and Dfrag...someday...maybe? There is still hope :)
Hi. have you ever seen Tokyo Magnitude 8.0? never saw a review on here. Quite good/different
I also want something about Ping Pong - The Animation!
Thank you. May you enjoy the show
Ahhhhh he mentioned Kare Kano !
I know right? How could he not include those?
i said nothing. have my like you mad genious.
***** Dude he was just joking. He literally listed everything here from the first list.
You're really cute.
Strangely missing Death Note though ... Is Arkada not a fan of that ?
JoJo in a nutshell:
Part 1: "DIOOOOO!"
Part 2: "NANI!?" And don't forget the THREE AZTEC GODS OF FITNESS
Part 3: "ZA WARUDO! TOKI WO TOMARE!" (Dubstep fart)
Part 4: coincidences, Duwang~, u ok reatard, i am wood, This feels like a Picnic *chew*, I'LL FIX THE SPAGHETTI.
Part 5: "I WANNA BE A GANSTAR!"
Part 6: Please watch Shawshank Redemption
Part 7: "EAT SHIT ASSHOLE, FALL OFF YOUR HORSE"
Part 8: I don't even know what the hell is going on
Yess the recommendations videos are the best. Monster I think everyone can recommend. It's a top 10 manga and the only of Urasawa's work that was animated. Johan is such an amazing villain. Also, Planetes is so underrated more people need to watch it. You listed so many shows I never even heard of I'll check some out
Am I the only one that thinks Gurren Lagaan is overrated?
yes
I hate mech shows and I thought gurren lagann was amazing
Zjersquid I haven't seen all of Gurren Lagann, and I plan to watch it all eventually, but I found that it sort of took a drop after Kamina died. Like, what show kills off the most likable, funny, main character? He was the only reason I watched the show to begin with. That's just my opinion though, if you wouldn't mind I would like to know how the show makes up for this in the later episodes to make it as good as people say.
Kamina's death is what brings around some of the best aspects of Gurren Lagann, without his death it wouldn't be able to move forward
SanicStrafe I'm on episode 10, I haven't watched any of Gurren Lagann for a few weeks now, though
Still not used to the hair yet :o
Neither am I tbh, I'm sure it'll happen though :)
Glass Reflection Its just for years ive seen you with long beautiful hair and now its gone TuT
OMG I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE HE CUT HIS HAIR 0-0 I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS TIES BACK!!! looks really good though!
I dropped Shirobako because i found it boring.
I know I did wrong.
Help me.
you did nothing wrong.
I drop a lot of supposedly good things because they are boring. For example HxH.
Two words, different taste ^^
If you dont like it, thats perfectly normal
shirobako is the most boring show i have ever watched
+Giatsu Akenori Sure. I just didn't saw any drama/comedy/romance/suspension. Maybe I didn't paid proper attention. I really want to appretieate it. Halp!
You forgot hajime no ippo! And if you haven't seen it because it's to long or its a spirt anime, shame on you.
I didn't know it's a spirt anime.
It's a sport anime but it's so damn good
Oh my gods.
I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT KINO'S JOURNEY!
Dude, shinsekai yori, watch it
Rurouni Kenshin
This is a classic shonen ever watching episode 28 now
I liked the prequel movie better to be honest.
That is one of my favorites! I love Himura!
