That thing that cleared your sinuses is called Achar. It’s a pickled vegetable/fruit commonly served as something to spice up your meal. It’s found all over the subcontinent.

Achar is also something spicy us arabs put in foodb
When he took so much achar my eyes actually widened lol!
We use maybe a quarter of what he took, perhaps less in each bite 😂

I’m 22 British born Bangladeshi, my first ever flight was on a family holiday to Sylhet Bangladesh, i was 4 years old and it was my first ever plane ride and it was on a Biman DC-10! I fell in love with aviation since that day, since then I have never travelled back to Bangladesh or flown with Biman, throughout my life I heard some pretty bad things about the airline but seeing your review on it has been refreshing, especially their business class product which I have been so curious about for a long time!

Have worked with aero engineers from Biman in the past. The whole operation is excellent. An altogether great airline .
I've flown Biman in economy a couple of times from London to Dhaka. It was a rather normal experience, food wasn't the best but it was by no means the worst. Legroom wasn't great, although I'm 6'5" so I wouldn't expect a whole lot more. Staff were very pleasant and I wouldn't mind flying them again. I enjoyed the flight and for all that haven't visited Bangladesh is an incredible country.

@@asadurrahman5182 Have not been there in a few years the people are wonderful and nice the food is fantastic I also found Biman airlines to be OK I have the worst flights on Delta airlines. I find as long as you are polite and bring some nice chocolates for the crew as a tip which they rarely get. You will also get good tips from the crew on where to go what to see and where they eat out.
@@fjordking delta are terrible. For many years I used to subject myself to their transatlantic AMS-BOS service but switched to flying Aer Lingus via DUB a while ago, not by any means one of the world's great airlines but still like night and say compared to the appalling Delta. The Americans are very much trading on a long out of date reputation for service at this point, it's such a shame.
Seems as if the airline doesn't deserve the bad reports. I would give them a try.

Most of the negative reviews were from the DC-10 and A310 days. Biman has made significant positive strides since then and is now one of the best in south asia.
@@md.mrn6111 economy is too good as well, food proportion, quantity, quality is quite good. You better study more about Biman. Biman is now a regional competitor with Sri lankan Airlines.

I have been on Biman once when I was travelling to Kuala Lumpur from India. I don't know why they say it's a bad airline coz I absolutely loved their service. The food was fantastic and yeah , the entire crew is much well mannered than what we have here in India.
10 years ago an un-delayed flight on Biman would have been a miracle! Amazing how they've improved! The fleet to really has been updated, sad to see the DC-10s gone but it certainly is a worthy sacrifice in the name of a better hard product!
What about the Fokkers that flocked the domestic market in Bangladesh until 2012?

Thanks guys for your lovely comments. Just seen the whole video and it's amazing. What I love about Noel is that he just 'turns up' which is the best and only way to do a review. Unlike others (whom I won't mention), they tell the airline, turn up like some Hollywood celebrities etc etc....offcourse the airline will pull out the stops, but Noel is down to earth and he says it, how it is....glad you enjoyed Biman, the service, equipment and the flight.

First of all, Thanks mate for trying our national flag carrier. To be honest, it's not that much high standard as the other world class airlines are. But Biman is improving day by day. It's not privatized yet. So the modernization process is a bit slower. And the construction of the third terminal of HSIA has already been started. So I don't think, any new wide body aircraft will be ordered by Biman in the near future as it's still run by the Government. But really glad to see a person like you tried Biman.
Let's hope for the best for Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

We have already six 787.. Bangladesh is one of the highest 787 operator in the world. Video maker also said in this video that he never fly 787-9 before, which one is most advance aircraft in the world now.

Excellent aircraft, I see that Biman has been modernizing their fleet recently and it's great to see they have the 1-2-1 configuration on the 787-9...irrespective of the old bad reviews its nice to see any airline that's making an effort to renew itself, good luck for the future Biman.

The business class on the 737 Biman was a lot better than "any" European business class with the middle seat blocked, add to that the superb seat on the 787 with a great crew, Bangladeshi's certainly have an airline to be proud of.

You will find videos of many Intetnational Airline reviewers giving good reviews to Biman Bangladesh in RUclips but there is hardly any good review about Air India in RUclips by any International Reviwer..👍

Great video as always. The 787-9 is one of 2 that Birman acquired after Hong Kong Airlines pulled out of the deal with Boeing. Therefore, they were offered with a 3 class configuration (first time in Biman’s history) consisting of Business, Premium Economy and Economy to Birman at a very cost effective price. I still have not seen the whole video as I’m currently at work and will do this evening when I get home. Keep up the good work and keep smiling buddy.
Some Hainan Airlines 787-9s that were not taken were offered to Vistara of India, who should have had 2 planes by now (6 were ordered), but they decided to include accomodation for extra crew which these 787-9s were not equipped with, so these planes are also going to Biman, while Vistara now have to wait longer for their planes.
I'll be flying a 787-10 with United to Europe in July. I'm looking forward to it.

Have had many Bangladeshi friends over the years take trips home to see family so really nice to see. Looked pretty good to me on both legs. Thought the food looked delicious too, as you say food can taste pretty bland in the air so a nice flavoursome meal is always appreciated.

It seems your TO from LHR was set up to save wear on the engines. They put in a much higher outside air temp so the engines do not have to run at 100% every time, but lets say 80% Great vlog as always!

Very spicy food is good for a cold as it makes you sweat and in most cases, clears a blocked nose.
I live in London but my ethnicity is Bangladeshi (Sylhet) and I always take Biman with my family as my dad prefers a direct flight. Biman is an alright airline and I’m glad it is improving day by day. It would’ve been better if you took Economy because most people take Economy (me) and lots of people complain. But I’ve been on the Biman 787-9 Economy and honestly it’s better than you guys think. Anyways good video

Sam B the reason why many Bangladeshis take Biman is not to take pride of their National carrier but rather it is quicker to get their as Biman is the only airline to go direct to Bangladesh mainly Sylhet. Most people who are from Dhaka mostly take Emirates, Qatar Airways etc as it is only a 1 Stop flight. However Sylhettis mainly take Biman to avoid a 2 Stop Flight which will be long and chaotic. I hope you understand what i said
Biman Bangladesh is actually arguably better than other National Airlines of south asian countries like Air India,Pakistan Airline etc..And if you compare its ticket price with other Airlines boeing dreamliners then its absolutely value for money...I think he found some old reviews of those DC 10s😂..I would say Biman is very decent considering how much you are paying...
Shahriar Ahmed Sagor yes you’re right. Biman was the last airline to use the DC-10 which is why lots of people think negatively of Biman. Biman is expensive which I have to agree but that is because of direct flights for example London-Sylhet, Manchester-Sylhet etc. But soon insha’allah Biman will get more 787 in order to get rid of the Biman 737

I also flew with Biman in business class in the early 2000s after a last minute change of plans, and, while the aircraft at that time were old and tired, I found the service to be excellent. As it was a last minute change I needed to overnight in Dhaka and Biman took care of everything for me.
It's good to see they are updating and improving all the time and, from my previous experience I wouldn't hesitate to travel with them again.
My only problem has been that my local airport is Manchester which Biman are just now starting to fly into (then the world stopped for Covid 19). Previously, using Biman meant travelling via Heathrow, which is less than convenient for me.
I'm a regular flier of Biman from Kathmandu to Dhaka, they are good, feels like family.

We have domestic flight routes. So a lot of Bangladeshi people fly internally. Plus most of the passengers are Bangladeshi . So it won't matter if we have less foreigners as passengers.

Dear Noel, actually Bangladesh ordered all their current fleet by 2009 and 2011. In the mean time, they lease aircrafts from Egypt for stopgap, which are really measurable aircrafts, required lots of maintainance, full of problems and dirty cabins. Even, some aircraft never fly 2nd time after lease. Lots of issues happened because of that. Hope now we can do better.
Took them as early as NYE 2002 from BKK to Yangon, which was a great choice as most pax continued on to Dhakka. Much better than the other flights that spit out all their pax at Yangon.
Things were much worse on the way back though, when the flight was delayed and no information could be pried out of any staff member when the flight would be leaving.

The food on Bangladesh Biman is probably the best I've had. I've flown on many airlines and apart from the delays it actually is really good for service and entertainment.
Biman is just getting better and better. Biman is the only national carrier in south Asia who is making money and other national carriers in south Asia like Air India, Pakistan Airlines and Srilankan Airlines - everyone is losing money. But yes Biman has less plane than those 3 carriers. Recently Biman CEO said Biman has a plan to increase his fleet size up to 50 within 2030. Well Done Biman (y).

I have travelled Biman Bangladesh Airlines, they very good in comparison to the fares they charge. Very caring cabin crews !!!!!!!!!!

Glad you had a better experience at Dhaka airport then I did, flying Emirates Business. The lounge was "interesting", food left on plates was put back into the serving pods, we had some local wildlife scatter when we (there was 3 of us travelling for work) moved our chairs. It was chaos boarding the flight, and I've never been so happy to leave anywhere in my life. I've never chugged a JD & Coke faster than I did on takeoff. It was a few years back, but it's put me off from ever going through there again! But, to be clear, our hosts in Dhaka were some of the best people I've met that work for our company, and the hospitality was brilliant.
