What shredded my dryer belt?

What shredded my dryer belt?  I was shocked when my wife told me our dryer had stopped spinning because I had repaired it just a few months ago. When I took the dryer apart this week, the dryer belt was shredded into little pieces. In this video, we troubleshoot this problem, we repair this problem, and we explain how we did it. Do you have a follow up on this? My dryer shreds belts like this and it’s not the pulley. :(

I didn’t do the video yet but yes. So about 4 months later my belt broke again. And again there was some shredding. Not as bad. I could a raised spot on the dryer drum right where the belt touch the drum. I filled it down some and haven’t had any issues. Yet!!!
