A truly beautiful piece of work, the chord change at 1.53 a magnificent moment, uplifting, invigorating...I really could listen to it all day long.
What a voice. This song is a precious gem.
I feel like this song more translates with me in the manner that while I enjoy sex and large amounts of it, I don't want that to just be it because at the end of the day, I like deep conversations just as much. And I've been used and this song sums up most of the relationships I've had in my life. You don't really know me or what I'm capable of, you're only aware of desire. And I hate that but I always let it go.
This girl is utterly amazing, stumbled across your work two days ago and I cannot stop listening. I am in love with every song! You have something very special going on here that's "one of a kind" You're right there next to Tori, Ani, and Kate Bush in your originality and sincerity. Keep up the amazingly beautiful work!
i kind of relate to this. I’ve always had kind of a submissive attitude towards people I care about and people tended to touch me a lot because they thought they had the right and I was always scared to tell them to stop in fear of it making them not like me but this song makes me feel strong :)

I don't think it's about suicide. My immediate thought was what I and my female friends do/did when we were younger and less confident, when there is no full length mirror. You find something to stand on to see yourself in the shoulder height mirror and check that you look acceptable, then you hide that you checked.
@@rosieeldridge82 Ah okay that's an interesting take. Well I wouldn't really know about that, nor getting more confident as you get older. Didn't really happen for me. Personally I tend to avoid mirrors as much as I can - they're very unhelpful. But anyway... I suppose it's all open to interpretation like all music/lyrics are. Whatever it means though, it's marvellous :-)

Ha ha, that's funny - I didn't read the suicide thing, not even in Jimmy's interpretation. It is incredibly, incredibly dark because it's about being objectified. Being reduced to only an object is readily as bleak as death. :)

The clever thing in this video is the slow motion running and jumping that doesn't apply to the words Julia is singing "in real time". I wonder how many takes it took to synchronise...or am I missing something?
Which parts do you think don't apply? The way they'll do this is play the song sped up for the artist to lip sync to, then slow down the replay for the video. If you play it at 1.5x speed you'll also hear a new song :)
