Thanks for watching! This is part of the mini advent calendar! Subscribe so you don't miss them 😊
I love this advent calendar every year. I also go back to this playlist throughout the year. The gift that keeps giving.
😊
Hey!!! You took a suggestion that aligns with what I commented!!! Lol I love Minecraft but don’t always have time to make my own farm from scratch. These videos are always amazing. Thanks you for the work you do especially on our beloved bedrock edition.
finally
Ooh! Can’t wait for more content!
If anyones stone stops turning into moss, take the water buckets out of the dispensers, replace the water, and put the buckets back into the dispensers then start it back up. This fixed it for me.
you just saved my life thank you!
Thanks so much this helped
legend. thanks for the help
It keeps happening to me, is there a way to fix it instead of continuously replacing it?
This just happened to me thanks! Is it because I didn’t bother chunk aligning?
Not gonna lie, I really love the big insane farms. That said, when playing with the limited time I have with the kids, these smaller equivalents are beyond appreciated!
Don't stop doing the huge bedrock ilmango-esque farms, cause I love some inspiration. But... there's so much of a lack of more realistically practical farms that this is such an eye opener.
To be honest, when I first started, I thought that I needed to copy your farms to a T to make it work without realizing that some seriously massive corners could be cut just to get the few stacks that we typically need for our builds without wasting too much time.
Thank you for that, keep doing everything else that you do, cause I don't want you to stop doing that! I know, RUclips makes that harder every day, but I think you're going in the "right" direction
I love that you are adding both simple and complex versions of the various farms. When I start a new world I often find myself in need of a simple farm for the short-term. In the end-phase it's nice to build the overpowered version.
Same especially because I am not that good at Minecraft😂
@@user-zk7bh2hv9i it's probably not skill. Half the Hermits lack survival skills (to their own admission), but it's (at least for me) mostly about being lazy/efficient with my time. I'd rather build a nice stone generator than carve out a mountain, or build a moss farm rather than hunt for a skeleton spawner.
@@ChrisBreederveld 😂
@@ChrisBreederveldin my long term world I found a skeleton spawner in a mushroom "island", so I don't have to spawn proof anything! On that same small continent I have a portal ticking gold farm, for the same reason! The rates are better than on my flat testing world because of the biome.
@@jmoneyjoshkinion4576 well, that is a lucky break! Unfortunately not a case to be counted on...
This is perfect. Small, efficient, easy enough to build. Produces all the moss related items I’ll ever need, then I can turn it into bonemeal once I have enough moss stuff.
Excellent work!
I've already built your older, much larger moss farm on my PS5 and it's the best Redstone project I've ever done 👍
Love watching your tutorials. Almost makes me wish I had waited to build the bigger one.
Perfect timing I was jus about to build your old one and use it for multiple of your other farms like you suggested.
I really appreciate you making all these pared down farm tutorials. Your full sized versions are awesome, but they can take a while to gather materials for and make.
Yea, but what’s the rotten flesh for?
Oh😊
This is such a nice small farm, it's compact enough that you can easily fit two into a single chunk. I was able to fit 12 of them with dropper+water streams to auto-fill the bonemeal hoppers and store the excess into chests. It produces an insane amount of bonemeal on the flick of a single switch!
Man, gotta say I love your style! You make amazing tutorials! Rock on, mate!
To those that ran into the same issue of moss not growing. Make sure you place the water first then put the bucket into the dispenser.
Fantastic tutorial definitely getting a sub. :D
this saved me
Bless you! This saved me probably an hour of troubleshooting. (Also, I built it correctly initially but I think in shutting down and restarting my world without turning the machine off, it got switched somehow and started malfunctioning. All better now!)
Thank
You
SO
MUCH
!!!!!!!
LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE I HAD NO PATIENCE TO REBUILD THIS THANK YOU
Thank you
This was my first farm ever and it works amazing! Can't thank you enough. Still works great on 1.20.72!
I chose the perfect time to start a new world, these simple farms are coming in clutch to hold me over until I can tackle the major farms
Thank you!!! I needed a new one
Thank you! I wish I had seen your pinned note about the roof. Measuring bone meal generation on my small server brought in 720 bonemeal (net gain) per hour, which is great! It's also pretty easy to add an auto-off switch based on a comparator monitoring one of the back hoppers. Put in a hopper cart with auto unload (another one of your tutorials) and you have a completely self-filling farm that doesn't run when it's full!
Overpowered and underrated! Thank you so much for this!
OMG so simple and mega easy thank you so much 😊
Thanks for the Tutorial!
I've been needing one of these.
I needed 2 of your other design to run that tree farm design in auto mode. I needed 4 total for all my other farms too. I don't think smaller is the answer I was looking for haha. Still love to see new tutorials from you. I finally got time to work on my way too strong potion factory. I started doing some math on the items it's going to take to fill the dang thing. I was thinking it was going to be in the thousands, but I was off by a factor of 10. I almost never use potions, but I can't stop now. It's almost done. I will probably take out most of the potions for the survival version. Just wanted to make the full version with every potion in the game first in creative to prove it's possible to do it this way. I play on simulation distance 4, and I am almost out of room on that... Might need to up it for the every potion in the game version.... or move the entire thing that I've built over like 8 blocks and cut the actual walkable space in the storage room in half. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't finished the biggest component before I stopped and realized how big it actually was. I very much underestimated the size of it, but I am loving designing my first mega machine. I have learned SOOOOO much about redstone doing it. The best part is it is easily upgradable. You only have to expand the brewing stand component (which I designed to make that easy) and add delay to the item droppers signal. That part is not as easy, but I left room for it in the design. The signal completes the circuit between the droppers and an always going clock. The longer the delay, the more items. The brewing ingredient distribution is limited by the space in a minecart chest, so you can brew a few shulkers of potions in one go automatically. Idk why anyone other than cubfan would need this many potions, but that's not going to stop me.
Love it. Suits my needs perfectly. Stay awesome silent!
I adapted this handy dandy little farm to work on Java...Thnx so much for this Silent!
Grate vid all yr vids are awesome and super helpful thank you for the realm friendly version
Very nice design! I'm sure you didn't intend it for this purpose but I like that I can use it not just for moss and bonemeal, but as a stone generator too! While I could build one separately, it's nicely compact in this farm so I quite like that
Nice to see the mini version. Big version on my phone barely makes anything nowdays, due to performance.
I built two of these and they work like a charm 👌 I built a bonemeal factory around it. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
do you have to be near it for it to work
@@Grumpsy45 Yes, just build something around it and let the farm run or afk overnight
@@eddidrums do you know how long it takes for a full double chest to run out
@@Grumpsy45Quite some time, but you can put a two hoppers, each facing different directions underneath the bonemal output double chest, then you can lead one of the hoppers back to the bonemeal input and the other one to your storage. (Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Germany)
I love how there are now multiple of two same tutorial, one big for late game and one small for early game.
Nice compact design ..i will be building this for a friend .
The other one with the half slabs and rail tracks doesn't seem to work anymore...it was mad .
very cool tutorial ! ❤
This guys is the only bedrock RUclipsr that I can trust. Keep up the great work buddy 👍
For building, yes! 1000% yes. For news I sometimes go with Toycat as well. But here lately Amanchoo does both bedrock and java playthroughs, and I like his laid back style.
@@jmoneyjoshkinion4576 Toycat is truly awesome
@@jmoneyjoshkinion4576no hate for the guy but I just cannot stand toycat's voice and vocal cadence, can't listen to him
@@kanaka118446 that is also my biggest problem with Toycat as well. But I still recommend him for bedrock exclusive news though, because Wattles does both java and bedrock news.
Ha, I've been looking around for a simple moss generator but couldn't find any that I liked. So, I made my own with tips from other designs. It works well but is not automatic. But also, I don't need jt to be. Always glad to have more simple designs available.
for bonemeal nd coal along with wither skeleton skull I've built your wither skele farm and it works so good!!
I get about 3-4 double chest full of coal and 3-4½ double chest full of bone for an overnight afk!
It works great! Thank you❤
Silent there is a bug with your bonemeal farm from 2 years occasionally cobblestone will get generated instead of stone, please look into this
Also this!
Yeah, moss can't convert cobblestone, this kind of ruins the farm for me. :( Any ideas, Silent?
can everyone like this so this can be brought to his attention?
Following
Same problem :/
Just built this in my realm server and works perfectly with no hiccups
Added your item elevator through solid glass so that the right hand chest gets sent back to the top of the farm and self feeds and the left chest is where it piles up
I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I keep getting cobble in the system. I tried changing the piston timings, but no dice.
Hey Silentwhisper
I just have to say thank you very much for your design of the bonemeal farm.
I have tested it for 4 hours, and it didnt produce one singel cobbleStone. I have tried difrent designs for bonemeal, but you nailed it. The timing is perfect.
I build this in a basement close to the tree farm, which is your design too.
My only issue is the connection of the bonemeal supply to the three farm.
Since it interfer with the hopperline that collect samples, sticks and apples.
Do you have any suggestions ?
Anyway, thank you very much for your videos🥇👍
Happy new Year silent do you think this design would work on Java edition?
cool gonna add it on my list
Full support ❤
thanks for the cheapest version of moss farm, u're my hero
Next farm i build on the server but one question what texturepack do you use in your videos??
A nice way to see that you are progressing in redstone knowledge is to preview what will be the next redstone circuit part during the tutorial. I'm getting there 😂
Thanks for the farm, I look forward to using it in my world because I love mossy cobblestone and making cool machines. One question - what is the piston & three observers (one facing away from the build, two facing into the piston) on the back of the build for? Note - I set this up in creative mode just to try it, and I am not using the droppers & double chest for bone meal (in case that’s what it was for).
I appreciate this literally coming out today! I just got done with CajolingGraph22's tree farm and quickly found out that I needed a small but more efficient bonemeal farm. I was gonna build your other design but didn't wanna run the risk of lagging out my friend's realm so this works perfectly!
Thanks man
Hey, great farm. Quick problem I had with the second redstone section (for the moss) not keeping its charge. The second observer moves twice before stopping. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this??
Rest works great,thank you.
What is the addon/texture you use in redstone related itens? That green/red arrows on hopers and the large redstone trail. I installed One long time ago but don´t knew how to configure properly
For a couple of weeks I have been debating on building the last version to replace my skeleton spawner farm for bonemeal. I have an idea for a factory line to feed the bonemeal to multiple farms.
i follow step by step and it work perfectly and smoothly
Thanks I need it for moss blocks.
The stone generator keeps creating cobblestone every now and then, which ruins the farm? i’m pretty sure sure i’ve built everything correctly, and have tried to adjust the timing to no avail. any suggestions? (playing on bedrock 1.20)
Making the first one realized this is also a REALLY efficient stone generator too... now I have 2 one for moss and a half completed version for stone and cobble 😁
Thanks this works great still
Works amazingly, perfect farm for starting up some of my other early game builds i just have one question , are you able to leave and go do something else in your world while this is running if u have enough bonemeal or will it break ?
Good, Thank you!
I’m running into an issue where the farm is operating at a loss? Could it be that I have the tick speed at 3? Playing on Switch. 6 items in hoppers to slow it a bit. Otherwise, I couldn’t find any differences in the build
Thx for this video
:)
Some suggestions...
Move the bonemeal chest and hopper up by one block and put a downward facing dropper in the gap. The observer will still operate the new dropper without extra redstone.
Now put a hopper into the side of the new dropper and put a double chest on it.
On the underside of the original chest put a hopper feeding into the new chest.
Now add a block under the new chest with a lever on it.
Now add a hopper to the back of the original chest and put downward facing droppers on the bottom of the hoppers from the composters.
Run a redstone signal from the etho hopper clock down to operate those droppers.
I used ice with one water source to funnel the bonemeal to a bubble column item elevator and direct the bonemeal to the bonemeal chest.
What this does is allow normal operation for the farm, but the new lever will lock the new hopper and the new chest will catch some of the new bonemeal that you can use elsewhere. With the lever turned off the farm works normally. With it turned on, the farm will still work anyway but may run out of bonemeal...
Anyway, sorry this was so long. I hope it was clear enough for you.
I almost built this wrong and had to figure out why your water sources didn’t immediately turn to obsidian 😅 Water-logged pistons is the key 🤦♂️ Another must-have contraption! ❤
Dude!! Beast machine!!!! Thankyou
just built today and works flawlessly
The second I need a bone meal farm our bedrock savior comes through and this farm is great
Great little farm! I am looking for a way to add mods like chunk borders, light levels, and light matica to my Xbox world is that possible? I’m just not comfortable playing with a keyboard and love the controller. Any ideas would be appreciated❤thank you!
very cute design!
SO CLOSE TO 600K (9K subs away rn) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SILENT!!! ❤❤
Great farm! I created a version with two of these side by side.
I routed the farm output to water stream transport and up to the top of the farm back to dispensers, creating a self feeding loop. The bonemeal flows over blue ice.
The excess output of the two farms flows over to other farms like sugarcane.
Small adjustment. I reduced the delay of thw hopper clocks to only 3 items. Seems faster and more efficient with faster stone printing.
Works great!
Note to new builders:
You need to fill up dispenser and the hopper below it and hoppers that feed the farm with bonemeal. After this step the farm will start generating positive output. Up to that point it builds up internal cache.
Debugging
If you find that the farm is somehow stuck stop it first. Inspect stone layer. If you find cobblestone then the farm may need slower speed in printing. Remove cobblestone and replace with stone.
If you find that stopped farm does NOT have water in front of dispensers take buckets out, place water back and put empty buckets to dispenser. Fixes the desync problem.
Me no understand, I have built this farm and it's producing less bonemeal then it's taking
@@blackcatpirates8134 fill the dispenser and both two droppers and possible hoppers all the way with bonemeal. This internal cache must fill up before it makes positive output. That is 3 x 9 =27 stacks of bonemeal. About a shulker. Or you can wait until farm generates it.
@@swiggityswag709 Ok cool I will try that
@@blackcatpirates8134 cool cool
I just made 2 of these farms again on a server. Works like a charm. I make couple of additional comments qbove about desync etc.
@@swiggityswag709 Quick question, how much bonemeal will I need to fill them up to the point of making profit? Maybe I'm just dumb but is it 27 stacks?
Here are some ideas silent
1. New Ice farm
2. Allay crop farm
3. Maybe a video on all villager mechanics..it will be really helpful
4. New simple gold farm ( portal mechanics )
Really would like 1 and 4
A couple other ideas :
1-A new simple & easy lava farm
2-Upgraded piglin bartering farm
3-Kelp fuel farm
4-Lava-based obsidian farm
@@SimoSmk piglin bartering would be great but theres already plenty of lava and kelp farms. Also lava based obsidian farms are pretty horrible since you need one bucket of lava per obsidian which is super annoying
i agree with all of these except #4. bedrock portal gold farms have been known to cause a lot of lag and corrupt worlds, so i think he doesnt want to make a tutorial on them because of that.
@@bakedbeans198 you can automate that though.
Using a piston conveyor belt lava farm you will to need only afk to get the lava buckets.
Send the lava buckets to a wither chamber and you get obsidian.
There are a few glitches where bedrock drops as an item.
Tried finding a tutorial for it there seems none on bedrock.
But it is possible.
This is perfect size for what I was after, the other one is massive and a bit daunting haha
Great farm,
Can you make an updated crop after the 1.20.50 update.
❤
Silent, if you see this comment, I tried building your previous farm and tried getting it to work in any way possible, do you know if that farm still works?
Nice Farm
Great video and very helpful. I found mine was using as much bonemeal as it made. Not sure what I did wrong or should change. Any suggestions?
I had the same issue then realized my dispensers for the water were not in sync. I reset them and it fixed my problem. Now it creates more bonemeal than it uses. YMMV.
This is just want I needed. I’ve modified it with an item elevator that only steals one bone meal per cycle so that the entire thing is automatic. No need to keep refilling the top chest. Works a wonder
how did u manage to do this, this would literaly be perfect
Could you explain exactly what you did?
@@monimalas1213 @armechadon
I’m not good at explaining red stone and I’m not sure how much detail you need . Install composter, you need 3 to feed the farm so the 4th can be left for moss depending on your need. Use one of silent’s tutorials for the item elevated (droper-vator with the simple torch tower). Take a signal out of the hopper clock to lock and unlock a hopper with the converted bonemeal, this is so all the hoppers and droppers won’t end up full. Use a comparator on one of the hoppers that Leeds to the item elevator to power the red stone tower (you could also use the same signal from the hopper clock) prime the system with one bonemeal in each dropper . Final connect the elevator to the dispenser with hoppers. The system needs about a stack of bonemeal in resurgence to ensure that it doesn’t run out.
What texture do you use for the red stone and hoppers?
Wow, easiest moss farm to date. Can’t wait to build this.
Can this be tiled to get similar rates as the jumbo?
Sometime the water and bonemeal goes out of sync. That time it stops generating moss since it uses boanmeal while water is there. Remove the water and place water again it will work again. It happed to me because i have gold farm near that and couses lag. (Ignore my spellings)
Works on my realm! Debugging tip: if your stone generator is generating cobblestone instead of stone, make sure the second repeater you place is on 4 ticks!
That one did it, thank you!!
What texture pack are you using?
I'm playing on a modded 1.16.5 server and i cant waterlog the pistons how can i work around doing that so my farm works properly?
This came at the exact right time, I need this on my realm with family and friends. I have a couple of questions: can I put an auto sorter in so I keep moss, azaleas etc but compost seeds ? Also can I make a rail system to be able to auto fill the dispensers with bonemeal?
This farm will produce stacks of moss and azalea and seeds very quickly. If you want to occasionally save away some of the items instead of composting them, the easiest option is probably to keep an allay hitched to a fencepost nearby. When you want azaleas or moss blocks, just run the farm and let the allay loose with the item you want, they'll bring them to you and your inventory will be full in just a couple minutes. I think an auto-sorter would be a bit wasted effort unless you need chests upon chests full of moss blocks.
For auto-refilling bonemeal, a good option suggested in another comment is to set up a dropper elevator powered by the existing etho clock. A rail system would work too, but it will cover up the top of this farm and maybe make it a bit harder to maintain. If you do that, Eggfur's youtube channel has a nice "intelligent minecart loader" design that you can connect to hoppers coming from the bonemeal chest.
Another farm working flawlessly . Ur incredible silent 🥰🥰.
glad you like it:D
Does this farm automatically stock itself up with bonemeal
Is there an efficient way to make a bunch of these in a compact way? All sharing the same power input and 1 storage for all?
with a couple small changes yeah you could work that out:)
Idk if it’s just me but I’m getting about 1/3 of the bonemeal back that I put in so I’m basically losing bonemeal whenever I use it, did I do something wrong?
I thought that too but make sure you pick it up out of both chests at the bottom as it doesn’t filter into the front one
This is amazing! I use the moss farm design from Foxynotail truly bedrock, which is also a small design. Will give this a try on my never world.
I expanded it to 7 blocks pushed in my woodland mansion but yeah his does work for a smaller scale.
Hi there - great tutorial - my stone generator somehow sometimes creates cobblestones that don't seem to get converted by the moss bone meal process... any idea???
I had the same issue. the pistons were firing to quickly so i made sure the repeater on the back that runs the pistons was 4 ticks speed. that fixed it for me. I appoligize for the vaugueness
Can i stack this build up?
I want to build your new simple iron farm but I want to know how much you can build around it to hide it without it breaking it
Cannot run pistons at full speed or it creates a cobblestone. I’ve tried a bunch of ways and can’t get it to work that fast. Having to have atleast 3 items in a hopper clock to not get any cobble (switch out clock for hopper clock) 2 items in it I get occasional cobble. 1 it’s 50% cobble.
would building some of these by each other be great for the short term or would it run into issues
Possibly too much lag if you had several (10+) so a few of his larger "industrial" version would _probably_ be better in the long term. BUT I don't KNOW for sure! Testing in a creative world would help you determine that.
If you could connect them all to the same clock it would help a little with lag at least
just made it and it works great!!!!!
This farm is quite of fear of engineering. Mixing red stone and lava has gone terribly wrong for many of us. Thank you for guiding us through this build.
Happy to help:)
Having a problem here.... thank you for the DYI on this moss farm but I'm having a problem with the stone turning into cobble stone annnnnd moss doesn't grow on cobble stone on the bedrock update. Ive laid out a patch of stone side by side with a patch of cobble and moss will only grow on the stone patch... is there anyway of keeping the stone from being turned into cobble? Ive been messing with the timing of the clocks a bit to see buuuut i just cant figure it out. Is there a fix or am i going have to use a simple flying machine with a suger cane field?
Thanks for any help that comes this way.
maybe you have not set the repeater correctly (the 3 tic one)
u forgot to do the repeater tick increase in hopper clock
@@TheTorqueBro I checked and I didn't forget it. Has to be something else
@@wildanimals5923 just break the stone generator and build it again
@@TheTorqueBro yea already done that 3 or 4 times... may just end up trying again in a new junk ( chunk ) just to see but figured I'd ask here first to see if anyone had any ideas about it
I keep getting cobble randomly. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Me too I can’t figure it out
Some things I found after tests:
-this produced an average of 1.8 output per 1 input.
-my test yielded 72 profit in 6 minutes. making an hourly profit of 720.
-by removing one chest and replacing it with a hopper line to the back of the machine, you can build a simple item elevator that will recycle roughly half the bone meal to keep feeding the machine. dispenser(s) for the elevator can be wired to an existing repeating circuit on the machine.
-the recycling system may either slowly run out or slowly overfill due to unequal outputs from each composter.
-you can run the “keep” half directly to an automatic sugar cane harvester with dispensers that will convert every 1 bone meal into 2 sugar cane, making this entire machine an almost perpetual automatic sugar cane generator. plant canes on mud and hoppers will collect through it.
good machine, wondering if the platform could be made a bit larger for better rates?
On ps 4 it doesn't even make enough bone to run itself.
I get 147 out of 64 bonemeal
@@RK-ck6pl yeah i never actually built this in my survival world, wasn't worth the time. Instead i made a trident killer+item sorter under a skeleton spawner for fully afk bones and experience, so bone meal is completely trivialized. Silentwisperer's afk wood generator is a great build once you have the skelly farm going
I'll probably turn most of the bonemeal into white dye, and sell it all to Pixel Artest, my shepherd villager.
Some of it I may use to generate flowers and sea grass or make trees grow faster, but if I need crops faster I'll just use bees.
Could have really used this yesterday😂😂
