30 years back this route was Dharmapuri to Mysore Via Thally,Maralavadi, Kanakapura, Malavalli, T Narsipura,Mysore, that time not much KSRTC buses, even farmers protested when the stopped this route, unfortunately due to losses route was stopped.

This dharmapuri palacode rayakottai hosur highway is an already existing highway. Just that the same highway is being widened, taking different alignment at places and extending till Neraluru near chandapura. This highway has a fair bit of traffic, except for that particular time of the day.

2 lane road was good in this route without toll reaching Bangalore was good for two wheelers using that road was good no traffic now it has been converted from state highway to national highway for 90kms 3 toll is there hence mostly will use the krishnagiri highway which having two tolls to reach Bangalore

There is a similar, even exciting route between Thalli And Kodihalli near Kanakapura via Jowalgiri. In 2018, the day mettur dam was full and gates opened, I took that super scenic route by car, spotted a KA41 KSRTC bus in that route

I also travelled on this root FIRST STARTING FROM Salem side Very fine express way uptill palakode after that still road under construction and plenty of diversion hence no toll started yet .
After heavy congested in rayakota ALL GAIN TIME LOST ..! after that plenty of diversion to see uptill hosur.!
