  • Short Run times/Early ESC Cutoff Solved! SPMXCA200 Smart Avian & Firma ESC programmer. Arrma 4s V2.5 LVC Low Voltage Cutoff. Mojave, Outcast, Kraton 4s. Hi all. The Arrma Mojave 4s V2.5 is a great truck but I was having issue of it cutting off before the battery was actually empty. It isn't possible to change the LVC (low voltage cutoff) using the buttons on the ESC but you can do it using the Spektrum ESC Programmer V2. This only applies to the Arrma 4s v2.5 with the slipper clutch which have the ESC firmware HW496_KZ1-V1.2A.
Hope this is useful to people having this issue. Many thanks for watching :-)

I was able to reset my V2 ESC in my Kraton 4s v2.5 with the Set button on the power switch. The manual however doesn’t tell you what the LVC is set at other than by level. It comes stock on level 4 and I set mine to level 1 (lowest setting). Definitely getting longer run times on my Gens Ace 5000mah 50C Lipo!

Oh that's interesting. I'll have a go when I get a mo. The manual doesn't mention LVC at all. What option number is it?

Hey I have the new Mojave and found the same thing no numbers just 1-6. I want longer run time but don’t know if setting 1 is safe? What is your cell voltage after your done running it?
I have mine set at 3 but still looking for longer run time.

Great you got your settings sorted, more runtime is more fun, so that's great! I also got something out of it, I just bought me one of these program boxes a week ago, not sure I will need it yet, but at least now I know I can watch your video or Chris' for some support if I need it...

Hi there. Oh yeah it's much better now and seems to actually run for longer than I was saying on the vid. It's worth having the box for this particular ESC as you can access options that are unavailable without it. Many thanks for your kind feedback and hopefully this might be useful in future 😁👍👍

Hey Pete thanks for the shout out and so glad that this sorted the issue for you buddy .
It’s a shame that this issue was not sorted out of the box on the new v2.5 versions .
At least we have gotten to the bottom of it now hey .
Very jealous of that beautiful Mojave as well .
Hope you enjoyed your holidays as well .

Hiya Chris. Well yes I wasn't sure if the box let you change the LVC until I saw yours so it helped a lot. I don't know why they set this so high and also why you can't change it just using the ESC buttons. Yeah the Mojave is a nice bit of kit for sure. My mate had that and a V2 Kraton for sale and I thought the Kraton would be too much like my Outcast so got the Mojave. Cheers for your great support mate 😁👍👍

Sorted!! You make it all look so easy Pete!
Interesting video mate, this evolution of technology is a whole other side to the hobby that I have yet to embrace..... very clever though.
I've not (yet) ventured into the world of flying brushless Arrma's and 4s.....
Im dangerous enough with a Tamiya on 2s!!😂
Cool little device though, and I fully comprehend the theory.....
Am I correct in thinking that is a similar device to the hobby wing multifunction program box?
We bought one of those to set up our HW 120 ESC for last years speed run..... unfortunately, me and computers don't get on!!
Needless to say, it's currently still in its box! 😂
Cool video to help the tech illiterate generation such as myself to get our heads around all this marvellous new technology!
    Cheers buddy. 😊 👍 👍 👍

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  5 месяцев назад +1

Hiya James. Yeah this is similar to other programming boxes. What a shame they don't all use the same one! I've not really had LVC be such an issue before. If you have a little light Tamiya with a brushless motor and lipo then it lasts so long that if it shut down a bit early then you probably wouldn't notice. With this it's a big heavy lump of RC car and the run times were crazy short on the beach and in the mud where the system is under strain. Annoying that it wasn't set better out of the box but at least there is a way to fix it. Cheers for watching and your kind feedback as ever mate. Sending best wishes 😁👍👍

On my Kraton 4S 2.5 , if I set LVC to 3.2 , the ESC will cut off about 3.5 .
When it was set at factory default, it was cutting off between 3.85 and 4.05.
    Truck would run minutes !
Now it will go about 16 minutes under very heavy throttle.

@@rccarsandmusic2641 Yeah like I say they must have changed the 120A ESC along the way. The one I've got that is version HW_495_KZ1_V1.2 did not allow LVC to change but the newer one that has hardware version HW_495_KZ1_V1.2A does allow it. Bit annoying that they didn't update the firmware on the previous one so you could.
