Capt Henry Wales (aka Prince Harry) Apache display as Co-Pilot Gunner at Cosford Air Show 2013

The huge crowd at the Cosford Air Show on 9th June 2013 were surprised to discover the identity of one of the crew of a participating aircraft. Apache AH1 ZJ171 of 662 Sqn 3 Regt AAC was flown by SSgt Jamie Boakes with Capt Henry Wales (aka Prince Harry) as Co-Pilot Gunner. This was almost certainly the first time that a member of the Royal Family had flown as a crew member in a military aircraft displaying at an air show.

Prince Harry was deployed on the ground it just did not last very long as the press spread the story of his private deployment and so he had to serve as a apache soldier targeting terrorist or the enemy on the ground when the other soldiers are at risk. The only way to keep them quiet this time was to bring a few of them along because Prince Harry really eanted to serve so he had to settle for the alternative. He served for like 15 years plus or minus if my memory serves me right. He is the only one who saw legit army action the rest of the family in his family either joined the royal air force or naval forces which is serving too. Prince Andrew also served as a sea king helicopter pilot in the Falklands war in the royal navy. A few of them served actively and some served to a small extend but you cannot question prince harry serving because legit saw active action in the army. Most of his fellow soldiers know and can attest to this. To this very day he is still serving his fellow brothers and sisters of the armed forces with the work he is doing.
The Queen served in the army as a mechanic in WW2,Prince Phillip saw action in the Navy during WW2, PrinceWilliam was an Air Ambulance pilot.
You see next to him special guards protection in Afghanistan was the same and even more,
Holy smokes! He maneuvered that Apache as if it were as light as a feather. YOU GO, Harry! Smooches!
Harry was not flying the Apache. The actual pilot sits in the back of an Apache. Harry the (co-pilot gunner) sits in the front.
@@defenestrate4957 OK. in this instance, he is sitting in the front, therefore may not be the primary pilot flying but I have seen him occupy both seats (at different times). So, if he wasn't the primary for this exercise, it doesn't mean he can't fly the APACHE because he can...and he has.
@@user-zo9pi3gj1x I've never seen one single picture or video of Harry sitting in the pilot's seat, (the back) of an Apache aircraft, and I've scoured the internet... There is no video that exists of Harry flying the Apache solo, or in the pilot's seat.. Please tell me where to find it. It's possible that in an emergency Harry could "take over" the controls. However, I would bet any amount of money that any pilot who flew with Harry prayed that never happens. Harry failed his Apache test 3 times.
@@defenestrate4957 The aircraft wasn't in the air, it was on the ground. Regardless, he knows how to fly it, even in the case of emergency. Hence his position as co-pilot and gunner.
Harry always sits in the gunners seat because he can't fly them himself they call him Co pilot to make him Look cooler
