I settled a lawsuit against my psychiatrist that I think is a covert NPD or worse. I went for help while in a similar situation for 33 years. The very next psychiatrist also could have been sued around similar dynamic. They can falsify records that impact your care moving forward, prescribe unneeded drugs and procedures, and give false derogatory labels. They are in the perfect position to harm. Be aware who you turn to for help.
I was minding my business then a narcissistic friend I met in high school came looking for me, she didn’t have a place to stay so I hosted her my place during covid. That was a bad idea, she soon took over my house and questioned everything I had in the house, she would wait when we are all sitting during dinner with my husband she would say something like “why is your house Soo disorganized “ “why did you choose this colors for your house “ . Everything I did was not good, and she was an expert in everything. She didn’t like anyone calling her out. After she left I realized she was chatting with my husband So often flirting and she never wanted to talk to me when I call her out she got soo made and talk bad about me to all my friends I introduced her to, I have never fully recovered from the damages she put me through. Narcissist people are monsters they come to your life to suck everything out of you. I have blocked her everywhere and no contact with her ever!!
My husbands favourite saying was. Your always attacking me. Meanwhile I'm trying to resolve a problem which by the way never gets resolved. 44 years of that bs among other things.
My husband is a covert narcissist…took me years to realize this, after couples counseling and watching videos. Yes, all problems in our relationship were caused by some outside source, IRS, mortgage company, alcohol, siblings, coworkers, etc. But with my own therapist I am realizing all these unhealthy attributes and am gaining the strength I need to most likely leave this unhealthy place in the near future.
This describes a (close to being ex-) friend who has been going through a divorce over the last 2-3 years. I have been nothing but supportive throughout and have listened to hours and hours of her ranting about how much of a victim she is. But often the thanks I get for being supportive is to be taken for granted & to be verbally attacked if I make any suggestion or comment she doesn’t 100% agree with - and she particularly likes doing this in the context of group chats. She will use circular arguments and word salad to try to disagree with me and then follow up by being overly nice to others in the group chat. I have concluded she is highly narcissistic and I sense that I am going through the ‘discard’ and devaluation phase as a friend. Some thanks for all the hours I put in listening & being supportive. I am now starting to feel much more sympathy with her ex!!

It’s just so bizarre. Even when it is clearly a problem they have caused they will go nuts if you even hint it is something maybe they contributed to. Zero accountability. I was raised by a covert and an overt. Neither will ever take responsibility for their actions. It is always someone else’s fault. As the scapegoat in the family they filled my head with just bonkers beliefs about everything being my fault. My sister realized 3 years who they really are (I knew since I was young) and she keeps calling them out because she was their beloved kid growing up so she is not absolutely terrified of them like I am. For me they are both Lucifer incarnate.

I subscribed to you a few years ago, I don’t know what’s up with the notifications if you have been doing videos. Also, I am writing a book on my experience and testimony about that span in my life.
