I'm honestly torn on LEGO reusing the torso and leg prints for both phase 1 and phase 2 clones. On one hand it is a really nice looking print and reusing it would allow people to swap between phase 1 and phase 2 troops just by changing the helmets which would be very cool if they came out with a more diverse array of clone legions. And I think we can all agree that the phase 1 and 2 armor really do not look that different it is an extremely minimal difference but I do know they obviously are different. The negative is really a lack of diversity between phase 1 and 2 and ultimately the knowledge that the only real reason they are doing this is to cut costs and not have to produce different types of clones. Just another cost cutting measure for Lego. "Only the best is good enough."
The issue for me is that they did use the same armor for both P1 and P2 in 2014 and it looked good. It has actually cost LEGO more to make the awful new design for the 501st troopers last year when they could've just slapped the 501st markings on the 2014 trooper.

But it’s nice to have this battle pack of clones , cos this is what I’ve been wanting for a while now and we’ve finally got them, ok maybe not accurate but still really nice to have.
4:15 You can thank dave filoni for that. The guy for some reason made the torso and helmet look way different on both p1s and p2s. When lego produced sets from ep 2 and 3 they used the correct helmets and torsos for that, and when they produced sets from the clone wars they used the correct helmets and torsos from the clone wars. In 2020 they decided to combine the p2 trooper into a ”hybrid design”, and then did the same thing in 2022. And yeah combining it so that we dont have two different plain p1s and two different plain p2s makes sense, but it looks weird seeing them combined. I think the best scenario would have been if dave filoni never messed with the clone design and instead kept the torsos and helmets for the p1s and p2s like they were in the movies.
Lego should re do the way they use the new range of prices, at 15 it could includes littles builds with named characters that lego cannot made sets of and for battle packs just add one fig to match the increase of the price but keeping the "build your army" direction
I think the right way to think about it, is that they have the wrong miniature in the gunship. There's no other clone that makes sense for the command center Luke the clone Commander.
Love this build, UCS is too expensive for me, so I will get it for commander for sure. Too bad we are missing 4th figure if other packs contained 4 not 3. Wish there were more than 2 packs releasing.
Ryan, just a heads-up: the printing on the Clone troopers nowadays is a combo of the animated *_Clone Wars_* design, and the live action movie design, to blend sets from the series and the movies completely seamlessly. Animated style on top, live action style on bottom. They started with the 501st battle pack, and they ain't stopping. Get used to it, dude.
I would think the color on the box art design is different on the microfighter box because it is belongs to the microfighter series, and the normal sets just have the blue.
I would say the price is a disappointment but all the other themes have them at $15 or so too. I would agree the commander is a disappointment, but then again people take advantage of those who don’t have the space or money for a Gunship and made the commander a $75+ figure. I like the idea but biggest flaw is that they didn’t need to change the torso print, the old one was good enough. Just add leg printing and this figure would’ve looked 10x better. I actually like the idea but have a feeling they’ll be a pain to get because of it being a lego exclusive and scalpers/stock issues/and most likely being “sold out” a lot.
Idea for lego: make specific army building packs which just have a load of regular clone troopers/stormtroopers/battle droids and some different types of weapons. Nobody needs loads of clone commanders, command stations and weapons racks!!!
My main problem with this set is that the norwegian price of it is way higher than what the last battlepack was. Legos price conversion makes no sence at all here. The prices are like varying between 110% and 160% of the international market, and this one is on 151,5%
I love how LEGO said that its unfair to paywall minifigs to expensive sets… and then made a better looking general veers to go in the UCS AT-AT, their most expensive set…
with CMFs being $5 these days, $15 for the 3 pack and $20 for the 4 fig battlepack is nothing to get upset about. $5 CMFs are the thing to be upset about, and I think they have been that price for over a year, now. the build feels like a $3.99 polybag from the checkout line at Target. 3 CMFs and a Polybag for $15 is a fair value. the Hoth battlepack has the same value proposition, you are basically just paying for the figs, and the side builds being more speeders for the AT-AT is a big plus. (otherwise those side builds are underwhelming and i would hope for a more substantial vehicle/base build in the next battlepack)
Why can’t we just unite in our mutual hatred for LEGO jacking up the price of everything? Why should only one party get to be angry about their preferred set prices?
I just bought a few packs at the LEGO store and one of the clones was a misprint, I was originally upset but then realized it’s cool and rare so I’m happy i got a misprint
My kiddo is super excited about this minifig pack specifically for the yellow clone trooper. He is 7- so getting the gunship, just isn’t going to happen at his age. So, while I can definitely understand why adult collectors would be annoyed, for kids it’s great.
the thing with the torso prints on these clone troopers being inaccurate is that it's a matter of redesigns. the minifigure you compared it to was from 2019, and the torso print on THAT clone trooper was the same torso that was on the p2 clone troopers at the time. it's clear lego is willing to only have one torso design for their clone troopers, p1 or not, and they've switched their priorities from p1 to p2, which i personally like.
I think the blue stripe is for movies and the orange is for shows. We’ll have to see when there’s more sets, if bad batch and boba fett sets have orange and other movie sets have blue

The blue stripe could denote movies, and orange denoting shows. I’m sure that we’ll figure out if that’s true or not later on with more sets
Lego should re do the way they use the new range of prices, at 15 it could includes littles builds with named characters that lego cannot made sets of and for battle packs just add one fig to match the increase of the price but keeping the "build your army" direction
its sad that for some reason they're not retired on the lego site, but out of stock and no ones bothering to restock
Palpatine: Execute Order 66.
Clone Trooper: do you mean set number 40558 with 66 pieces?
Palpatine: NO! I mean kill all the Jedi!
I think the right way to think about it, is that they have the wrong miniature in the gunship. There's no other clone that makes sense for the command center Luke the clone Commander.
I dont mind the torso on the Regular Clone, as lego used the ep 2 and 3 torsos on all Clones in the the past depending on the past.
I think lego only does blue lining on the boxart for sets from the MOVIES and other colour lining is for sets from Star Wars SERIES
That accessory pack is probably the closest thing we are gonna get to a phase 1 clone battle pack
Love this build, UCS is too expensive for me, so I will get it for commander for sure. Too bad we are missing 4th figure if other packs contained 4 not 3. Wish there were more than 2 packs releasing.
Happy we finally got a 212th trooper! I mean, yellow and orange is pretty much the same!
Can also work as 501st because they're clones too so pretty much the same.
Lol
It also works as a kashyyyk trooper since all people remember are clones fighting with wookies
just a bunch of mens (look like Jango Fett) battle set
It’s blue because it’s a original trilogy set😂
Why are you angry about the small black lines on the helmet?
The blue stripes on the boxes just mean the set is based on one of the movies from the skywalker saga
Just backordered 5 of these.... I hope it doesn't get canceled.
I want these to put into my 2 UCS Gunships !
What time is this set (along with others) going to be released on January 1st? Like Midnight, 1, 2, or 3am? Eastern Time by the way. Thanks
Why is nobody acknowledge that these are literally battle packs but with 1 less minifig??
Because you aren’t allowed to complain! Silly goose just be happy!
It makes me mad as well.
Idea for lego: make specific army building packs which just have a load of regular clone troopers/stormtroopers/battle droids and some different types of weapons. Nobody needs loads of clone commanders, command stations and weapons racks!!!
I have had a VERY hard time finding this anywhere below $60 form second hand sales
Omg, when Ryan brought out the OG battle pack from 2007....nostalgic memories!
Still can't find any...
Looking back at it now if commander ponds wasn't in the UCS gunship and if it was a clone pilot then this would be perfect
"I mean, the white hips... don't lie" haha lol
A clone captain is also present (red) in the command post in attack of the clones which is actually giving the orders to the clone troopers
I mean.....you are a hardcore fan.....and that's why I subbed.....you are passionate of the franchise
Correct. Do half the “bad things” about this set matter to 90% of consumers? No. Does that mean I can’t talk about them…. Definitely not.
Honestly, this will sell really well, maybe next year we could get p2 regular clones. That would be really good.
I agree with the army building "battle packs" instead of the named characters.
My main problem with this set is that the norwegian price of it is way higher than what the last battlepack was. Legos price conversion makes no sence at all here. The prices are like varying between 110% and 160% of the international market, and this one is on 151,5%
Since it’s most likely it will retire early, I hope LEGO remakes this as a battle pack with four Phase 1 Clone Troopers. Does anybody agree?
I think if they remake they might make p2clones but it would be good to get a similad set set with a diffrent legion
definitely suspect we're either getting an AT-TE or gunship given the Episode II focus this year
I like the consistently as it allows for easier army building as in future sets clone troopers will hopefully be the same
3:43 one small step for lego, one huge step for the lego star wars community
I love how LEGO said that its unfair to paywall minifigs to expensive sets… and then made a better looking general veers to go in the UCS AT-AT, their most expensive set…
Definitely picking a couple of these to fill up my UCS Gunship
with CMFs being $5 these days, $15 for the 3 pack and $20 for the 4 fig battlepack is nothing to get upset about.
I think the line denotes if it's from a movie in general or a show in general.
Why does 5 stripes on the side of the helmet even matter
Only the best is good enough.
Because they went out of their way to make it WRONG
For most people it won’t. But how can you say I can’t care about something being film accurate? Especially when it was accurate in 2002!!
But this design isn't accurate to P2 either.
I think the blue stripe is for movies and the orange is for shows. We’ll have to see when there’s more sets, if bad batch and boba fett sets have orange and other movie sets have blue
I like this set personally. Just wish there was a third normal clone.
I hope we get a droid pack/or battle pack. That old droid battle pack was beautiful. Would love to get more droids to go against these clones
If I’m looking to make an army of clones how much do you reckon that the weapon rack, clone command post and clone commander will sell for
Not a lot lol you won’t be alone in selling them, and nobody will want to buy them when they can just get the set..
No one wants to buy half a set dude.
Part it out and sell the parts by themselves, nobody is going to buy the assembly, even years along. 501st battle pack has already started to have this problem.
@@Yahda not necessarily. In the UK, the 501st battle pack went on sale for £18.75, I bought 6 of them. I then sold them without the clones and get £14 back, including ebay fees.
There is a market for just the builds, it just depends what price you put them at
Man. Just went to my Lego store and they’re limiting these 1 per person… how can I army build
This command post is way smaller than the 2013 because it will be able to fit at the back of the new 2022 gunship
No more speeder bike but a place for this Fob, the flat control panels could be the stops for the connexion between the 2
I've been checking the Lego website off and on trying to order a few of these, but it still says coming soon, is anyone else having this issue?
Dude, what is your end goal with the mini figures? Do you want them to be like photo realistic or something like that? Because trust me, making everything photo realistic wold make them boring. Just let them look like they are if you know what I mean. I feel like it doesn’t matter how good lego dose them you still want better. You make good videos and I have been watching you for a long time but still, don’t hate just because off hating sake.
Totally agree!
you get no bitches
No they basically insulted us when they said we’re too stupid to tell the difference between a pilot and a commander and people don’t want this shit
Personally I only purchase Lego Star Wars sets, with some exceptions. So, I wonder if other Lego themes, like marvel, have the same careless mistakes as Lego Star Wars or if Lego just doesn’t like the star wars theme for some odd reason😂
Kinda bothers me how they didn't give the commander an accurate visor or torso for the ucs minifigure
All in favor of having M&R be the head of Lego SW say I. That would be the perfect world
I I I I I
Maybe the blue colored stripe on the box indicates the entire Skywalker saga and not individual movies. Idk, could be a reach.
Okay but see, I can army build this set WITHOUT ending up with a million Ki-Adi-Mundis and Barris Offees.
@MandRproductions I am definitly gonna buy 2 of these, currently i am trying to amass a clone army, I have the bad batch shuttle and a few clones, do you have any recomennations for me to get clones and vehicles fast?
Sadly it's a 501st army is your best bet. 30 bucks a set.
