  • There are an estimated 260,000 people living with ME/CFS in the UK alone. Many living with the illness will have to find ways to adapt, including when it comes to their work. Inclusive businesses have to learn how to manage those suffering from the illness, while still hitting business targets and keeping everyone engaged.
Some of the topics we will be covering:
    - What are the things to consider when one of your employees has ME/CFS?
    - How can a team be inclusive and ensure everyone's wellbeing in the process?
    - As an employee, what are the things your employer should know about your condition and how do you have that (sometimes) difficult conversation?
    Speakers
Brooke Willing, Marketing and Communications, Altran
Victoria Clutton, SharePoint Coordinator, Altran UK
Ruth Richardson, Operations Director/Deputy CEO, Action for M.E.
Evan Francis, Marketing & Communications Manager
    Louisa Lambert, HR Business Partner
Moderator - Andreea Groenendijk-Deveau, Head of Comms and Partnerships, Astriid
Here at Astriid, we match talented chronically ill employees with employment opportunities across the United Kingdom.
We work with employers to make sure that they can meet candidates' needs and help them to perform to their fullest potential. If you haven't already, sign up as a candidate, or an employer, or make a donation or visit our website.
Astriid's mission is to help people with long-term conditions find meaningful work. Founded by David Shutts OBE following his cancer diagnosis, we believe that the value of work is far more than the wages paid. Employment provides routine, a sense of normality, challenges and rewards, and when approached correctly, can also facilitate a greater sense of wellbeing.
Astriid helps bridge the gap between the Invisible Talent Pool (people who have chronic health conditions who wish to use their skills and experience in work), and the UK skills crisis.
The platform matches talented candidates with prospective employers, providing accessible work opportunities for those who are seeking them. As a charity, we also produce informational resources, develop patient communities, and advocate for more inclusivity in the workplace, in the hope benefiting both employers and prospective employees. In this way, we hope to make the Invisible Talent Pool, visible.
If you’re an employer hoping to benefit from a talented and diverse workforce, or a candidate looking seeking employment or work experience opportunities, we’d love to hear from you! Here’s where to find us…
