I live in Southern Ontario and I haven't found a single black morel yet, but I have found about a dozen small yellow Morels. They started coming up and then we had a cold front for about a week. It's just starting to warm up here again now, and the only thing that I'm finding is tiny little yellow ones. What a weird year
I live in southern Indiana. I checked a few publ8c woods, all i found was a fellow hunter and his young girls. Reminded of when my dad took me hunting. Such a great way to spent time. Anyways, yeah, indiana morels are just not showing yet. Well, that's not entirely true, bc I found avideo posted 2 weeks ago of someone who had found some in indiana, but idk where. I live in Bloomington Indiana. Any tips would be so much appreciated. I desperately want to continue my dad's tradition.
I'm not too far from you over in Richmond. Finally found blacks for the first time last year around some big tulip poplars. Do you find they associate with any particular trees or ecosystems in your area? Hoping we have more consistent temps this season, last year was a weird one
Weird year, I'm in southwest Ohio, found tulip morels half frees and yellows, I just haven't found a good spot for blacks, I get plenty of the other species ,so I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed.
I barely ever find blacks so I enjoy watching your videos.
Good video. Northern Ohio is still about a week away. Appreciate the content.

That's it, I'm spending the rest of the day bouncing from forest to forest, I've been checking the shag bark hickory ,due to my proximity to you .
Yeah man this hot cold hot cold weather is really screwing up the morels, finally starting to find some where I am but they're about 3 weeks late.
