In this video you'll see one complicated, but unfortunately, very frequent situation. A lot of times we meet the dog owners who don't know how to properly take care of their pup.
Luckily, we're here to help, and give you some useful advice for the future, so let's dive into it! More often than not, we meet owners who think that if their dog has long hair he would be safe, warm and cozy in the winter, therefore- they don't think their dog needs a haircut.
Why is this wrong? 🤔
Stay tuned and see why in this situation Aleksandra chose to completely shorten the hair of the dog that came to us, even though that might seem as a wrong solution.
Another problem we tackle here are dog's nails. As you can see in this video, this dog's nails are looking all kinds of wrong, don't they? They are completely curled up, which is a huge nuisance to the dog.

It always makes me mad when owners want long haircut on a matted dog like that! If they cared so much about having the hair long, then they should be brushing it, and taking care of it! Those nails were horrible! I did think she was funny when she was biting the air at the hairdryer! It reminds me of when a dog bites water from the hose.😂😂❤❤. You do such wonderful work!😊❤
Matted and dirty dog - of course, they would want to put it outside. But, having a shaved and clean dog, there is no reason why they then can't have the dog inside during the winter ! So keep the dog clean and washed - and then there is no issues of the owner - doing what they should be doing al along !

You did a wonderful job with her grooming. The owners should be ashamed of themselves letting her get in to such a poor state of neglect. She was so cute and adorable after her bath, she even looked several years younger - almost like a puppy again !
I have had wolves and used to go for long horse rides for hours in the forests here in BC Canada. Wonderful times and memories. I know wolves well and can say they are VERY different than a dog. Dogs have been bred to suit a life with humans. There is no such thing as a wild animal with constant growing hair that matts. Wild animals shed every spring here in Canada. I had the same problem when I first got my horses and had to rent a field. The field's owner thought horses and cows had the same digestive systems and would feed my horses corn which is bad bad bad. It caused me to buy my own land so I could control the horses habitat. That is what we do when we love our animals. We join them and make our environment suitable for them. God loves animals also.

Those donut shaped nails were terrible! Poor dog must have been so uncomfortable. It really ticks me off. He looks comfortable and happy now.

Please show more of the dog when they are finished down on the floor walking around or on a leash or something instead of just ending the video immediately when the job is done and the dog is still on the table. ❤ Looks better and sure feels better! How much does grooming cost? Is it a lot? How about getting a grooming kit and learn to do it yourself regularly, would be better than letting the dog get to this bad state in which you need professional help.

Again, you guys are angels. The puppy attacking the dryer is funny. But, its not so funny when you know she is doing it out of fear. Its not really scary to me. I would just sympathize and try to be as calming as I could to show her that the experience is not to be scared of.

The owner cares enough to want a dog. But doesn't care to learn the needs of the dog. Bad owner. Uneducated owner.
Most owners are uneducated. Barely any breeders or shelters educate either. Majority of owners think behavioral training is an optional thing when it’s absolutely mandatory for all breeds regardless. People think pets are items. The amount of people that sleep and live with dogs that have dingleberries is enough to make my skin crawl. My mom worked at our animal hospital most of my life. I’ve been involved with animal rescue nearly my whole life and people have truly ruined dogs and the info that circulates the internet makes it worse. Most of it are myths by those with poor emotional boundaries that confuse it for healthy empathy

This pup has quite the reactive aggression. This is not fear reaction. The dryer wasn’t fear. That is not fear aggression or reactions. That is a “I don’t like this so I’m going to react the only way I know how” aka never been trained a day in its life. Just because a dog was neglected doesn’t mean it’s fearful. He has bad behaviors because he wasn’t trained. Which is heartbreaking as it is. But we gotta stop acting like all dogs are just “fear reactive” dogs have incredible senses and he knows he’s not getting harmed. He just does the only way he knows how to get things to stop=attack.

O MG I have to say that is the worse nails I have seen on a dog. I have seen lots of horse's hooves neglected but this was a take me back moment. Wish you did not have to give dog back to the owner. Sadden.
Why didn’t you cut it long
Put a sweater on him and just let him out to do his business. His hair will grow back soon enough. Too matted no way- have to shave
Zamolila bi vas ako ste izabrali engleski jezik makar titl neka bude našem jeziku. Što se tiče edukacije vlasnika pasa mogli bi da snimite jedan vodeo kako ošišati psa u kućnim uslovima, skraćivanje noktiju šta upotrebiti u te svrhe i sl.
Hvala na predlogu. Razmotrićemo. 🙂 To malo komplikuje celu proceduru, pa iz tog razloga nismo do sada praktikovali.
Što se tiče edukacije, uskoro će biti dostupan kurs namenjen upravo vlasnicima pasa, kako bi lakše i pravilnije mogli da vode računa o svojim ljubimcima. 😊
