That woman selling the flowers is my auntie Biddy, unfortunately she’s not with us today but I know she be sad to see how much our culture has changed in Dublin 💔🇮🇪
When the girl says shes asking for a "2 in 1". Jesus, that took me back. I remember my cousin getting a "3 in 1", which played ....CDs!!! That was the big time. Brilliant video.
There is nothing like a traditional Dubliners Christmas - even we Culchies come up to Dublin for it - in my case this year, I’m going to try to get home from Manchester to see it and my family in Dunshaughlin Co Meath
I could cry now ,just to see what the government have done to Henry St, and Moore St ,all the fruit stalls and the couple of fish stalls are all but gone ,it's a shame .
Moore ST , R I P . THE WRITING WAS ON THE WALLS. Not enough cared about their roots . All the Conflicts on this island to have our own culture and it has come to this . @@paul479 Amen!!! Money grabbers all- especially the politicians! The majority of Irish have proven themselves to be willing to prostitute their country and its heritage to make a quick buck! It’s absolutely disgraceful - I came home from Manchester U.K. in August 2022 where I’ve lived 21 years, have always held an Irish passport and I was horrified by what I saw in Moore St - I’m originally from Dunshaughlin Co Meath where I still have family but my Granny was a Dublin Liberties Mot
Everybody smiling dnt think u would see that today in henry st..and all our own people u ain't seen that today either.. how wrong that lady was it will never change omg it would break your heart to see what our lovely streets have become..
I grew up in Dunshaughlin Co Meath back in 1985, but my Granny on my Dad’s side was a Liberties Mot, she got me the job in Superquinn Blanchardstown where she lived in Coolemine Clonsilla - I’ve been living in Manchester U.K. for 21 years, where I’ve always held an Irish passport and I came back home to Ireland and to Moore St in August 2022 - I was absolutely horrified by what I saw and from chatting to the far fewer dealers that were there, they told me that they were being forced off both Moore St and the surrounding streets - it’s absolutely disgraceful what’s going on, as the Dublin dealers are the very definition of what makes Dublin what it is for Dubliners, Irish people and visitors to our country alike
Every town used to have characters like this selling and buying and bringing joy, life and laughter to the town. Then, chain stores and corporate shops killed the towns and now, the whole thing has been shut down by the government. Sad 😞
When Christmas felt like Christmas clearys and Switzerland windows with Santa's workshop and the woodland creatures making the toys unfortunately it's all gone

So true I have not been in to town in years but I think when rochers stores and clearys went it was never the same I still have China balls from rochers and woolworths when I was young my granny used to buy me a jumping charley now people would say don't say jumping charley I wish they never brought in these foriners
Damn right, its had a knock on effect too, so much harder to find a job and live here now that they are hiring so many migrants that they can pay pennies to while they get free accommodation in our hotels that were meant for tourism. Aonghus was in a celtic rock band called Mushroom. They were playing in Clonmel back in the seventies....I asked them to play Neil Youngs Southern Man and they did!! I used to work in Waterford with his cousin Michael Baldwin, in Chambers and Halleys, accountants

@1:05....He's a graduate from the RTE school of economics....explains how RTE can lose 2.1 million on a punt. And I did spell that last last word correctly....I wasn't referring to Tubridy or any other of the RTE talent, or even Aonghus. I wonder how he got his job in RTE? @3:50 The dealers are still coming out at Christmas, and every other day of the year.
They thought Dublin was changing in 1985, God bless their hearts, they would have a hear attack looking at it today...benefits of the EU, I suppose, I don't see much...
The Roaring 1980s. that fine young man looks a lot like Jonny Logan, Those were the days when young men wore long flowing locks of wavey hair and did not give a dam, I still have my flowing lock of golden wavey hair, I very often I get the very best compliments from people about my hair, I jokingly say it is a wig then they get embarrassed, some times I forget to explain that is my real hair.
