Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace | The Final Word
Much needed response in the 2nd half.. we must get a result v Newcastle this coming weekend to try open up a gap
Absolutely mate 👍
Not only a win but a come from behind win 👏👍
It's not anger.. its worry, this is our last season at Goodison an it's emotional. It's nothing personal
UTFT!
By the way, tremendous job whoever’s in charge of the designs for the merch. Quality looks good too, I’ve just ordered a mug and a tee UTFTTV
Cheers mate
Do you think it's time for O'brien to start alongside branthwaite. More height at the back.
Very accomplished and many-sided analysis from you all three, Baz, Ped and Jack!
Yes, the three points were the most important thing for Everton in the situation we are in.
Of course there is much to do to better our performances footballing wise. Will think that to come along also by our, hopefully, rising confidence.
I'm backing the view of Jack in that tackle Tarkowski made on Mateta.
As we all know traditionally the English, and British, game has been "harder" and more physical than the one played in Continental Europe, and that is also one thing why the English league football has been admired for decades all over the world.
The principle that if and when you kick, or touch, the ball first, even if afterwards you connect also the opponent, it should, even nowadays, not be a foul.
Think it's good that is still mainly the "policy" in the Premier League, and all the other English league tiers as well.
The old saying "it's a man's game" comes to the fore here!😉
Don't take me wrong, it's really magnificent women play the game, too!🤗
Self-evidently there are limits in these tackles, too. If they are wild, reckless or dangerous, then of course a penalty can be awarded.
But imo Tarkowski's tackle was clean. In the same time it was a bit risky taking into account the standpoint how that kind of tackle can nowadays also be deemed.
Thanks 😃
Cheers lads, easily the BEST EFC content around. Keep it going
Totally agree 👍
Thank you Jim, appreciate that mate 👍
Tarky tackle was risky, but Mateta then switched to Jarrad, and Mateta disappeared from the match. Plus more obvious penalty on Branthwaite when he was pulled down in palace box with two arms around his waist. N'Diaye is amazing 🎉
Tremendous show boys which is why you're the best on youtube by miles. A much needed win onto the next
Thanks mate 😊
Watching the highlights again, Dyche has put together a team which plays to DCL’s strengths with crosses coming in from both sides with high quality. I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt with his subs in previous games on the basis we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in terms of illness, injuries, motivation, training and contracts, because/when I can see what he’s trying to do.
We may not have played great but finally I can see a plan and it’s a sensible one.
Dead right that Tarkowski’s decision was crazy when there was the option for a clean tackle.. just keeping an eye on him now in case his legs have gone.. when it happens they go suddenly and it plays havoc with your decision making
It's gonna be a good game against Newcastle, nice little bit of local rivalry between the two clubs - Everton should win it and Dyche goes in January through a 'surprise' decision from Friedkin. Ownership takeover dealt with in December...
Watched MOTD on Saturday for the first time this season! At least result shut EFC doom merchant Connor McNamara the f*CK up. He's always so negative about us during his commentarys. Fingers crossed we can build on the Palace win and get something against Newcastle. ✊👍🙏
3 more next game please.
Ped, stop making excuses, Onana didnt miss a penalty in a shoot out, he rolled it into the keepers hands from 10 yards, worst penalty I have ever witnessed in 54 years of watching Everton
Best content on the Tinterweb! Well done fella’s
Thank you Ken 💙
Was in the park end Saturday with my bro, son and nephew💙
Saw John Blaine on the way out, I went all starstruck and didn’t go and say hello 😂😂🙈
Should have been 2-0 down at half time with clear penalty to Palace denied
Ped looks like he's found a pound but lost a fiver.
What a load of bollocks, why on earth should a player get penalised for getting to the ball first in a 50/50 challenge
Not a load of bollocks is it?! It's the rules, watch any game now. Not saying it's not changed footy but it's the rules now, even in kids footy etc
Made up we won obviously, but the first one since May as absolutely shocking 😭
I still want Dyche to go ASAP.
Disagree with the Tarky one… thought it was a brilliant and necessary tackle
No problem at all mate, we are saying it's a risky one nowadays given the rules.
