why do people say electric cars are cheaper they cost double , they burn through electrcity instead of gas in wreck the fumes will killya, and oh ya to charge em on the road you haveto runa diseal engine, and dont even get me started on repair costs or replacing the battery, so how are electric cars a gooddeal maybe we should focus more on livable walkable cities and communities
There's a new FREE documentary you need to check out called "Climate: The Movie (The Cold Truth)" released just recently in 2024 Directed by Martin Durkin that answers a lot of your questions. Patrick Moore is in it along with a lot of Scientist.
First they give you a subsidy to buy an electric car. Then they call you a greedy freeloader because you aren't paying gasoline taxes for the roads. Then they charge extra for your license plates. Next they want to slap a tracking gps on your EV to snoop on you and charge you by the mile. Then they tell you that you aren't being environmentally friendly because your car is heavy and you are ruining the roads and your tire particles are polluting the water. Then you discover it's hard to find a working charger. Next winter comes and your EV turns into a brick. These vehicles just sell themselves don't they? Aren't you glad you got that big subsidy to buy one?
@@Commenter_42 since I’ve got access to a good charging network, I have not yet had a problem charging, though I mostly charge at home. I live in Alabama, and we are the second most tax-the-EV state. Deplorable. My model Y AWD is lighter than my wife’s F-150, and a lot lighter than an Escalade, Tahoe, Expedition, Yukon or Land Cruiser.

I have a CDL with HAZMAT. If I have just one EV battery in the wagon I must placard all 4 sides of the wagon and I must have HAZMAT endorsement on my CDL as long as the battery weighs 1000 pounds or more. So why don't all EV's with a battery weighing 1000 pounds or more have placards on all 4 sides and the driver have HAZMAT endorsement on their license and follow all of the HAZMAT rules? The battery is just as dangerous or more so in the EV as it is in my wagon.
I too have a hazmat endorsement and haul batteries.....the answer to your question, is it's a commercial vehicle......but, yeah I get your point.
Yep that's true. Also they should have a bi-annual radiation emissions test.
corrupt politicians were paid off. Use your brain kid
THAT alone is an excellent point.
Gas stations in California have a hazardous chemical warning.
Once someone has wasted a fortune on an EV they just can’t bring themselves to admit they have made a dreadful mistake.
That is a human defect and it used against us. Everything is so tribal.

@keegan773 what's the rule?
I'm happy with the leaf... it was fairly cheap (with the rebate, to be fair).. I know it won't go on road trips.... and scotty is right, there is no where to conveniently charge it. .. a few places in Philly to rapid charge, but I avoid that... I commute daily 60 mi... so it is cheap to operate... only change tires/ eventually gear oil for it... and flush brakes... saves about $5.00 a day in gas/energy. I only charge at home... Staying tuned for the solid state battery tech to catch up... if it does, then electric would be a much better option for more people.. As far as the tribe comments... nope.. that is a non-starter.. on the contrary, I've had to deal with more road rage in my ev than ever in a gas car! Maybe I drive different in it (doubt it)... or maybe some ppl are just triggered by it... Cost.... meh... I wouldn't buy a 60,000 tesla, but the nissan was cheaper than most gas cars... and with operating costs low... its comparable. batt should be ok to 100K (warrentied)... jury still out on that.. but a new batt (and another 100K) ... now ~ $10, 000... Hopefully, the cost comes down before I need it. Would suck for me if it doesn't... I drive cars forever, so it made sense for me, but as for most.. prob it's not the best option.
My 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty, 5.9L Cummins has almost 300,000 miles on it. Nothing was ever done to it other than preventive maintenance that I do myself. This goes to show, when you take care of an older vehicle, it will take care of you. It's hard to believe its almost 19 years old!
My 1995 4WD Suburban is still going strong as well...29 years. Except for deterioration of some plastic trim pieces, all is good. Plus, its long paid for. 😄
I just ordered a 2024 Toyota Prius Hybrid (self charging) But I will never part with my 97 F50 Powerstroke. Diesels are worth their weight in gold!
Yup and Tesla says batteries aren’t bad and covered by warranty until they lose more than 70% of capacity in 8 years.
That right there, plus replacement costs, is what’s keeping me from owning any ev.
Solve that and I’d love to have one for around town trips like grocery church and school dropoff.
And it does not have all the spyware that new cars have
I have a Tundra with 289k miles AND a Tesla Model 3 with 120k miles. I wouldn't trade either. My advice is shut off the divisive news, research them yourself, and talk to actual owners about things rather than reading and hearing stories.
I still can’t figure out why anyone would spend tens of thousands on an EV.
You'd be surprised!
Because they're fun as hell and I can afford it. If you can't work harder

Easy ... it's called being brainwashed.
Ill ride a bike before I buy an EV. I live in South Dakota. Every winter I see at least 3 or 4 teslas on the side of the road, no flashers... and we dont have many teslas... most have out of state plates. They dont realize thier range is about 100 miles at 20 below...😅
And 100 miles is just getting started on the trip in lots of SD😊 I've driven through there. Most of it is wide open spaces. Not conducive to a vehicle of any sort with
No offense, but South Dakota has a tiny population - 0.02% of Americans live there and not many places are colder than SD. This only affects a small percentage of the US population. Also, battery technology is improving year by year, sometimes month by month. CATL has recently made an LFP battery that is more stable at colder temperatures and actually charges FASTER at negative temps. ICE vehicles have had 120 years to develop, EVs are only about 10 years in...
Who the hell would live somewhere where the temp drops to 20 below !
@zmxvbj Yes, but that small proportion is very unhappy that tech that will not work for them is being forced onto them. EVs work well where temps are moderate and distances are short (and personal $$$ and infrastructure). HUGE parts of the US where those conditions simply do not apply.
@user-rq1mk9hi4x This year that was Chicago 😉 for a week or so.
Driverless cars can't recognize wet concrete but Tesla software can detect ghost spirits at cemeteries but do not know how to read a horse drawn carriage🤣
Better than people on their phones while driving getting into routine accidents
I'd say they're both the same. I practically avoid everyone. Instead of staying centered in my lane, I keep to the far right/left of my lane. Has saved me several collisions from them veering out of their lane. Plus I drive with 2 hands (3 & 9 o'clock positions) when I'm surrounded by vehicles around me. It's not worth it to get into an accident, even though the insurance will pay for it. Things are not 100% perfect, like door gaps, rubber seals. Had the parking brake of my Honda Fit stuck in the lock position after it was T-bone by an SUV. It was repaired by insurance, but things are slightly off.
Because there's a ghost in the machine! And its trying to kill us! Crazy? Explainself driving cars that stop for no reason and go against rules and safety!
Self driving cars make illogical decisions at times. A ghost in the machine as it were. They stop for no reason on the freeway. They put themselves in drive and kill their owners (Anton Yelchin). No thank you! I can beg for my life with a human!
@MarkHardstaff-jr9mkI would pray and give your belief and self to Jesus Christ. Demons are in your house for a reason.
Combine high voltage outlets with petrol outlets . . . . . . . . . . . . . what could possibly go wrong?!
I don't know about that, most of our cars and trucks have our electric fuel pump sitting INSIDE the gasoline tank! BMW even says the gasoline keeps the electric pump motor cool. lol
Did you know the pumps run on electricity? Interesting fact.
takes fossil fuels to produce electricity to run gas pumps, and charging stations. in an apocalyptic, and / or grid down event, all vehicles will be lawn ornaments, n people would have to resort to walking, and/ or riding bicycles.
@@driver4011 solar exists. Can charge EVs independently.
One of the benefits of EV is not having to visit gas stations and get your hands and shoes covered with the stuff
Government solution ... home-charging illegal as a safety measure.
Even if it isn't imposed by the government, it could come by way of insurance companies. Many HOAs are already doing it in situations of parking garages under the condo structure. And just wait til the chinese junk batteries become widespread as the lower price and quality in the interest of quantity. It will be interesting to see!
Government “solution“ is an oxymoron
Protect big providers by making it illegal to do it yourself?

@@andyblank4157Totally agree 👍
Needs another 35 years. But definitely not now. And as an option not a replacement to ice vehicles.
Why?
@@andyblank4157Why?
At first, I was all for ev power , but then I started coming across posts about them , and after reading them, I started to have second thoughts . I've always prided myself on being my own person , so I quickly started to think about all the things that needed to change , and it occurred to me that basically just from an financial point of view,, electrification,is simply not feasible , its the biggest white elephant so far in human history. There will no doubt be more
I went through a similar thought process in 2022 when I needed to replace my old Hybrid after it was totalled.
Decided a PHEV was the best way to go at this time (if you can get a good deal on purchase).
So far it has been a great choice. Best of both worlds. Full EV for daily commutes, regular Hybrid for road trips.
No range anxiety, or spent time waiting for a charge, or even planning a trip around finding chargers.
@davewarrender2056
The problem is gas vehicles its the amount of miles people have to commute to work each year because they can't afford to live where they work but fixing that issue would take money out of the billionaires pockets so they don't mention it.
@@OIllllO With the amount of remote work happening now, vacant office space is becoming a scary problem. Regardless, they still won't back off EPA restrictions driving the push for EV's and 3 cylinder engines. So much for big oil running things.
I never think anything that china wants us to do, is a good idea.
The climate scam is bigger. They go together.
a totaled out Tesla was towed to a bone yard.. it sat there for 6 days..till it caught on fire... it took 4500 gallons of water to put it out.. they had to bring a water tanker in and hook it to the pumper truck...
in Switzerland they have a few pool trucks with a crane they lifte the car and dump it in the pool...can't imagine how much it costs to run such a thing must be heavy >
Just 4500 gallons? There have been instances of 10,000-20,000 gallons used up here in New England. Then, of course, 20,000 gallons has to flow SOMEWHERE after it hits the fire and pile of whatever is left and that is a low point that is often a body of water. Well, now you have a HazMat incident. Great, isn't it?
I don't even know why they're still using water, water is not how you put out EV fires. Fire blankets or FFF...
Which one of you lit it on fire? You talk like no one who drives EV knows about circuits.
You don't use water on Lithium. It only feeds the fire. You use AFF which is used on electrical fires. You have to remove oxygen or the fire won't go out.
If the entire car industry watched your videos, we might actually have a better car industry...
Would have a much better car industry if we got rid of the EPA
I guess they did it for the millions grants from all govs.
I doubt it !
Just watch what Toyota does. That is reality.
Oh, you’d be surprised
The car industry has already done so much to avoid electric cars, but now it’s pretty much unavoidable
Watch a variety of view points, not just some videos from a pro ICE guy
Wait. We may all have power lines to our homes, but people who live in apartments or other structures where there is no garage or individual reserved space with a suitable outlet, cannot charge at home. But it is true that traveling with an electric vehicle is no fun. Trying to find a charger that works is a frustrating experience. If no one builds any, it is worse. Oh, and I don't have any electricity in my underground Mohave Desert Bunker. If I did, I would have to be "on the grid," or else I would need to buy fuel for a generator that would also give me away.
This is one of the reasons why there are none in NYC. Unless you're rich, you park on the street.
The end goal is to shut off oil, so it's ev or nothing in their future.
And most people living in apartments can not afford to pay $60,000 for an EV.
Our company buys several 1000 company cars, the majority have chosen EVs, those that live in apartments or only have on street parking are offered alternatives like hybrids. Finding a charger isn’t hard for the rare time it’s needed and it’s mostly a 15 minute splash and dash back home.
@@wayneguszich5395 most the world isn't stupid enough to "shut off oil" in the next 50 years. Maybe the greentards running USA into ground might be.

they will never give up but supply and demand will force them to slow way down as we are seeing now with a huge supply of ev cars and trucks but very little demand

@dexter2433 Problem is they will force us into buying them, will just tax us high on old cars.
Until the incentives/tax breaks end 🤔
Failed like our government, China owns the mines, car companies with government bailouts pushing hard on EV’s…..someone connect the dots
Well I don’t think this discussion is really going anywhere. I think EV’s and Fuel will both be around. Look, Lays potato Chips and Fritos come out about the same time. People like both. Pepsi and Coke, people like both. The answer is Options. People like options.
Bravo, you're not falling for this political division crap. I have a Tundra and a Tesla and love them both. Buy what you want and let the market decide.
You're argument would be 100% correct, except for fines issued to OEM's for not hitting EPA standards and incentives paid for EV"s. Letting the best overall design win is not happening. The elephant in the room is EV value once the battery pack is done. Is the car a total loss?
@@Nobody92421 But if Tesla batteries are lasting to 300k miles, similar to a gas engine, whats the argument as both can be remanufactured or replaced.

Answer from a University Student Yesterday : “Tha WALL, bbbammm “!!!
THAT'S why we need to build the wall. Be sure to remind the University Student that the INTERNET comes from the wall, too! Yes, your internet connection.
To be fair, I’ve seen a couple Prius’s stranded also, but if you’re considering a hybrid, your doing yourself a disservice if you don’t but a Toyota hybrid. These cars are very, very complex designs and you’re going to be better off with Toyota’s design protocols.
A hybrid would seem to be the most practical, but could end up being more expensive over the life of the vehicle, maintenance-wise since there are more things to go wrong. If you’re the type that likes to buy a new car every few years it might work out okay.
@@stevelacombe5291 Yeah. If the consumer is fine with about 225K of relatively trouble free driving, then the Prius is an okay fit. Very long-term ownership will be substantially more expensive due to the battery pack that runs about 6K or more to replace, very expensive starters, etc.
Complex designs, sounds expensive.

I’ve been going to a Wawa gas station for about a year that has eight Tesla supercharger’s in the parking lot they are used constantly and the Tesla owners hang out like the drive-in of the 50’s Wawa has food ready to eat and Gasoline and diesel pumps in front they are busy day and night. There’s more Wawa stations going up not all have supercharger stations. But it’s not impossible or impractical.
Yeah a lot of the Sheetz gas stations around me have chargers, some i have seen an EV or two at, others closer to the interstate are busier... my big complaint is that NONE of them have a pull through or space for a trailer. If you are towing a trailer disconnecting every time to charge would be a complete nightmare even if they had useful range to actually get somewhere towing. None of them even have a place to put the trailer away from the chargers. I could see some majorly pissed off people if a 30ft RV is taking up 6 parking spots across.
Yea think they are putting in chargers at Wawa where I live in Florida. They fenced off piece of parking lot. Probably be busy like you said.
I can fill my car in four minutes, sounds like EV owners have to live at the Wawa waiting for their toy to charge.

When going off grid and needing a car then get a classic car that doesn't have a computer controlling everything in the car. Get a car like a nice Mustang, Camaro, or Corvette from the 60s. No cat or fuel injection to worry about. And it could be kept as analog as possible with roll-down windows, manually adjusted side mirrors, keyed entry and ignition, and manual transmission if available, sometimes three on a tree.
It makes sense for state or federal money to install charging stations at highway fuel and rest stops with a small premium for installation and maintenance.
It's going to be an interesting time in 8 - 10 years when all of these ev batteries will need to be replaced...
Try 3 years at most
Cost for batteries is dropping and the technology is getting better.
The batteries on a Tesla are covered up to 8 years or 100k miles. There are Teslas in the UK that have 400k miles on them that haven’t replaced their batteries and are still above 30% degradation (Tesla recommends that batteries at less than 70% original capacity be replaced). There is also a German owner that has put almost 1 million miles on his and has had to swap out the batteries twice (both were first generation packs). The latest generation battery packs are said to last 300k-500k. The money saved in service and fuel costs in the 10-20 years of ownership would pay for a battery, plus 2 or 3 more.
Tesla is shooting for 1 million mile capacity packs. Frito Lay/Pepsi have a fleet of Tesla Semi’s and they are working on high mileage trucking.

What happened to free enterprise? Why all these mandates? And why don’t we have a commuter car that sits two people in tandem in a roll cage frame with a wide footprint? Parked under a solar roof at work giving something like 20 miles a day.

A lot of people live in apartments or condos. They can't easily "charge at home"

Tesla makes a substantial profit on their Chargers. Shell oil just announced that they are turning approx. 1000 gas stations into electric charging stations. A 10% share of charging for millions of cars is still a lot of money.
The big money is installing them. An electrician friend just quit his job and created an LLC just for installing chargers. He's swamped with contracts already and having to search for subcontractors to take the work.
The Integra was always just a Honda in NZ. Wonder why different in the states?

You should cover modern diesel truck costs, def , maintenance , 6.00$ gallon diesel and mileage needed to recover purchase and excessive oil change and maintenance costs !
The thing I don't understand is a gas station can get by on 4-8 pumps because it only takes a few minutes to fill up. Since it takes roughly 10-20 times longer for an EV, we would need 10-20 more EV chargers.
Now there is a lot of talk about new batteries you can charge in 5 minutes are coming. But I have yet to see an explanation of how we are going to push that kind of power to the battery. It would be crazy, 60+ kw in 5 minutes!? Tesla Supercharger is already three phase. And the enormous strain on the electric grid is unfathomable to me.
Who says it takes 10-20x longer? My average gas car fill up takes about 5 minutes. It does not take 50 min to an hour and 40 minutes to charge an EV. Maybe 20 min at most. And as battery technology progresses it will be even shorter... Most people would be charging during off peak hours at home anyway, so the "enormous strain" on the grid is false
@@zmxvbj Talking empty to full. A model 3 does it in an hour.
Five minutes for your ice? Think you're off on that. Most cars are 17-20 gallons. If it's 5 minutes that is only 3-4 gallons a minute, less flow than your bathtub. Gas stations are limited to 10 gpm in the US, so the typical car is around 2 minutes to fill up which fits with my personal experience. Maybe you have slow pumps where you're at, sometimes I get one.
@@zmxvbj grid strain from EVs is real. The average car puts on 14k miles a year, about 40 a day. So that's what, about 10-20 kWh a day depending on car? The average home uses about 30. 2 EVs in the driveway is about double the amount of electric use. And you would need a law preventing people from charging during peak, you can't just expect people to do that.
60 kWh. To do that in 5 minutes would take 720 kW. (600 average U.S. homes) Times the number of chargers. Times the number of stations in town.
@@briant7265 Nice "mathing".
The typical EV owner thinks they will be doing 5 minute charging at home off their 100 amp service line in a few years 🤣
It's great if battery tech gets there, but pretty useless if you need a CERN-like power line to charge it.
there's a few Sheetz stations around here that have Tesla Superchargers
I saw a few on a drive thru PA on I80 and all of the chargers were empty, and the fuel lines packed.
And they are mostly empty meaning no revenue. Who wants to put in 500K in chargers that will likely never pay for themselves?
I love your “concete” example😊
Thank you Scotty for properly calling it concrete and not cement. Cement is a component of concrete not the whole mix.
Keep on professing the truth! Love your videos!!
Got here early and just wanted to say, LOVE YOU SCOTTY!!!
Not everyone lives in a scrubdivision with a gearage.
Pay your rent
I live off the grid. Solar power is the main source of energy. We use a generator for backup and use for gas heat. It gets below 30* at night here. We have a Chevy Volt hybrid. It takes ALL DAY to charge the car to go 30 miles on electric only.
Hey Scotty, how about a scanner tool test with lower, mid and high-priced groups.
Keep doing what you do.
I’ve heard that the largest charging station is in California and is powered by a diesel generator.
There were electric cars over 100 years ago. Eventually people realized they only would sell to a limited market and gas powered cars became the norm. The reasons are the same 100 years later.
Wrong. Batteries density is significantly better.
@@GWAForUTBEEV batteries are very toxic to the environment. All the mining and battery fires cause deadly Cancer from the batteries fumes when on fire!
@@GWAForUTBE Battery density has little to do with it. Study your automotive history.
@MrPoppyDuck I've studied the electric car , and its history, including the 90s EV1. I highly admire great men like John B Goodenough who received 2 Nobel prizes for battery energy density. The first for the Lithium Battery and the second for...look it up. ( how the electric car died( is a good start. I assure you the reason Edisons electric vehicle didn't advance were poor batteries. Lack of energy density.
Laughable that you think technology has stayed the same for 100 years.
Hello Scotty , my brother used to own a 2002 to 2000 Honda civic reliable good car and drove for almost 300,000 miles but my brother did not do the one main thing when you own the car check the oil my brother rarely checked the oil and he blew the motor. The piston rings are all broken up destroying the inside of the motor more and it’s burning all the oil that he had in the engine just by driving a few miles. I hope anyone and everyone that hears you read this learn a valuable lesson oil is cheap engines are not. my brother found out that the hard way he ran the engine out of all two times and that’s all the engine could take.
I'm with you Scotty, but I have a question. If guys like us can see that EV's is not the way to go, why would Elon, the Super Brain, not come to the same conclusion? Now that's baffling to me.
Elon will be living on Mars, not stuck here with poisonous dead batteries littering the earth.
because he's the one that's selling them, and knows that he can dupe people into buying it by saying "it will be real soon" about the fast enough charging, the self driving and all the other junk.
@@johnsmith-sp6yl Yes, and when Elon's made enough money, He'll be off onto another money maker!!
I have an in-law who works at a Cadillac dealership. Since Caddy has gone all electric the dealership is obligated to install 19 charging stations.
They initially had 9 installed. At a meeting with a representative of the power company that rep told the dealership managers that there were currently 3 transformers feeding the dealership.
If they had several cars charging and someone in the repair shop were to start up a welder ONE OF THOSE TRANSFORMERS WAS GOING TO START ON FIRE.
Yup, but we're going to save the environment ..
Note also that in the case of the new Dodge Charger the electric version is ONE THIRD HEAVIER than the gasoline version. That means heavier, beefier tires, more wear and tear on the road system (already in appalling condition in much of Canada). I'm sure this is not helping the environment.
In Maryland many Wawa and Royal Farms gas stations have Tesla charge stations.
Fast-chargers only make sense at rest stops along highways. Most people are away from their cars 20+h/day, which is more than enough time to charge even at a lowly 1.5kW. Run 15A 120V to every parking space instead. Having everyone plugged in all of the time at 1.5kW is much easier to manage and cheaper to deploy than 350kW DC fast-charging..
@@randombutrelevant1606 I never said it was free, only that putting in enough L2 EVSE infrastructure is cheaper and more sustainable than attempting to meet daily commute needs with 350kW fast-chargers. The only thing that really needs fast-charging is road trips.
For the same 1M$ needed to put in a couple of 350kW fast-chargers, you can install 100+ 10kW L2 EVSEs in a parking lot. Great for shopping malls, offices, schools and other places where people typically spend many hours at a time.
If I had an EV, I'd rather plug-in-and-forget until I'm done with whatever I parked to do than having to worry about coming back in 15-20 minutes to unplug from a 350kW charger to avoid paying idle fees.
When the elite are flying around in electric jets, I'll buy an ev.
Watch out, they are already building electric jets. Don’t get sucked in. Solar panels are for losers too
Biggest problem I have with scan tools is that you buy it and then for the features you actually want, you have to pay more to unlock them.
The other thing is gas stations can be built anywhere. If someone want to build a large scale EV fast chargers array, you have no choice but building it in an industrial park where the power supply is sufficient enough.
Yunday Sunday Funday !!!
Manic Monday by The Bangles?
I CAN SEE THE FUTURE: Electric Vehicles towing gas-powered electric generators to recharge them! LOL.
😏👍👍
The Midwest has a lot of large gas station ‘complexes’ that have a restaurant, mini grocery store, and what not. Building charging stations that make their money by selling you things other than electricity will be the way to go for places that require long distance traveling.
Just a small fact, EV sales are continuing to grow worldwide, people show high loyalty in studies to repeat buy, and ICE sales peaked in 2017 and have been on a steady decline since. Truth indeed.
His argument is like asking why there are restaurants or truck stop diners. Cuz people don't stay confined to their homes so they have to get food when traveling.
All that "gas, food, and lodging" infrastructure built itself, once the Interstate system was put in place. The only reason we have them was because Eisenhower wanted good supply lines in case of war on the continent. Once it was built, you could pretty much put a city darn near anywhere you wanted.
If they would make an INEXPENSIVE, reliable EV that would be mostly charged at home and used as a work commuter or local travel vehicle, they would be a lot more appealing. Nobody wants to shell out $50k for a secondary, local use, vehicle that would be a nightmare to take on long commutes/vacations etc.. AND be considered totaled when the expensive battery dies. At the current insane price, the cost of the EV way outweighs the amount of money someone would "save on gas."
they make them......they're called golf-carts!
They make them they are called Teslas. & are now price parity to gascars. Look it up. Electric Viking just did a great show on it.
@GWAForUTBE Kurtdog is talking about truly affordable cars, like $500/month incl insurance for five years, not 7, or 10. Teslas do not qualify. Neither do 90% of the current new vehicles.
@asajayunknown6290 they are coming. They might say. " Made in China" but they will be cheap.
Support the most American made car.
Support the safest cars.
Support Tesla.
I'll be doing an electrical upgrade to my home shortly, when I do I'll run and 80amp circuit to the garage, I might use it for a home welder or maybe as a overnight charge station. The cost will be minimal and the upside "could" be home charging for a B&B either way it works. It's not the 90% of EV owners that are the market for stand-alone charging stations, it's everyone that might need a charge while outside of their home range, and almost EVERYONE will eventually want to travel a little farther at some point
I’ve worked on industrial batteries over 20 years. Consumers are being duped. Batteries will always need to be repaired and replaced. Pay now or pay later , it’s going to fail before the rest of the vehicle.
Electric cars shocks😂😂😂
Charging rates are typically not much more than what you pay at home to charge.
???? Really? Generally not true from what I have seen.
If they were any good we'd be driving them already. In the start of the automotive revolution they were being developed right along with the piston driven rigs. They dead ended for a reason.
Look back to Nixon's failed fuel allocation plan, they called an embargo. Perfectly good LTD and Caprice in the garage with a new civic or corolla to save gas, paying license and insurance on two cars and thinking their saving a dime.
Scotty, it is amazing you are allowed here. Waaaaay to much clear-thinking & common sense. How can this be tolerated??
The new study is that they still suck.
Which is what everyone knew from the beginning.
Ten years down the road, where is all the hydro-electric power going to come from to support all the EV's on the road? 😮
Gasoline contains benzene, toluene, and xylene. The area around the pumps is heavily contaminated. Don't let your kids out of the car in these hazardous waste zones.

Evs are flat out dangerous to the people driving and their families. Practice, practice your emergency evacuation plan !!
And even worse The Corrupt Media in 🇺🇸 is now not allowed to report on most EV fires, What a Discusting mess.

NHASTA VERIFIED
Electric cars need quick/swappable batteries. Drive up. A machine takes out your depleted battery, measures remaining charge, sells you a charged battery, crediting you the residual charge in your old battery. Quicker than pumping gas.
Customer is also charged only for the power in the new battery (which might be less than full if the battery is older.)
when I was in Quartzite Arizona There is around 84 tesla charging stations next to a Terrible's gas station its off high10 at the distance from LA where you probably would need a charge
It just occurred to me that EVs are tailor-made for Gen-Z - what a great excuse to spend several hours every day thumbing at your phone! What would be a complete waste of life for the rest of us would be quality screen time for Gen-Z. Elites might even hire them to charge their EVs for them, which is the only way EVs would actually make any kind of sense, since no Gen-Z will ever afford a hundred thousand dollar Tezla themselves.
You're ignorant. I'm not bashing you here, just pointing out that a Tesla Model Y, the best selling car in the world now, costs less than $40k. It charges in about 20minutes, not "hours". I own a Tundra and a Tesla and wouldn't sell either. Turn off the mainstream news and research things, not be told by the agenda crowds that wish to divide people into camps.
Scotty I am tired to hear you cry like a baby about electric cars. You do not sound good...
Scotty never heard of Buc-ee’s. Perfect marriage for EV charging & all the stuff you want on a road trip. Headed to check out the new one at Johnstown today!
have a trip to Norway, see how we are getting along with the ev challenge? id say we make it work pretty well over here.
The battery technology is still too “bleeding-edge”. How long will the batteries live before replacing? 300,000 km??

Leave it to the government for a tax incentive for building a charging station at a gas station.
here in europe, every Lidl, Aldi or any other supermarket has a charging points as well as municipalities. Everyone with a mininum google search will find that charging is only worth doing at home and during the night. Having an ev does need some diacupline...in the early days of gasoline cars, the gasoline was sold at local groceries in cans before gas stations were common. evolution takes time and money
Scotty, what recourse does a person have if a mechanic steals there car? A few years ago in Lakeland Fl, a mechanic offered a free tow and check up. Of course they found something wrong but we couldnt afford the price tag. He refused to tow it back, demanding we either have the car fixed or pay a towing hill, and refused to let us drive it back saying the tie rods were lose and it was to dangerous. In the end, he got a free car. What should I have done?
If an EV gets 300 miles per charge, if the owner only charges the car at home, then the max range of an EV is 150 miles away from home. Owner needs to get home to charge meaning he has to travel the remaining 150 miles to get back home. Not very efficient.
For 3 $ of electricity. Long trip. Plan a stop to eat, errands. Life doesn't have to be a Nascar pitstop.
Same thing with gas. Luckily there is electricity everywhere. Chargings stations are usually just a few miles away from each other and keep expanding.
@@GWAForUTBEDoesn't have to be, but usually is a NASCAR stop for most of us.

@AlenMajetic the ridiculous analogies these ICE heads keep coming up with are hilarious. Did you see the one ( up a few) where a horse is compared to an ev ..having to feed it in the barn is like having to plug in your ev. Too much work. I laughed so much I couldn't respond.
Building an entertainment center for the people that are charging cars? What a joke lmao. Did nobody who performed these studies sit in an EV? My Tesla is theatre inside lmao.
