Connecticut River Rainbows, Brookies and Salmon |

Come take a ride to the Upper Connecticut River near the New Hampshire and Canada border near Pittsburg, NH. The river is long and empties and flows from a series of lakes teaming with Brook Trout, Landlocked Salmon and Rainbow Trout.
Nymphing was the ticket this day and after trying a few nymphs with some success, I found the one that was the nymph of the day that attracted the attention of most of the fish we caught. This area is beautiful, and the water had a variety of pools, riffles, runs and pockets to choose from. If you didn't like where you were fishing, a short hike along the bankside trails gives you other opportunities to find the water you like.

Another great video! My early (old) stomping grounds... I grew up on Holyoke not too far from the Holyoke Dam/fish lift, similar to the one you flashed a view of at the beginning of this video. Stripers are slowly making it to the Holyoke dam in small but increasing numbers these days. There is a viewing portal where someone carefully counts all the fish "lifted" on their way to NH. Your very patient and incredibly persistent effort to travel around making all these fantastic videos is tremendous. Really nice! Stay safe dude!

Glad you liked it. I just looked up that Holyoke dam fish elevator. Looks pretty neat and hopefully it can be a win-win for both conservation and commercial interests. As I made my way through NH and Maine, I read some history on the Atlantic Salmon reintroduction efforts and I hope a solution can be found. The Connecticut was one of my favorite to fish on this trip. Catching Salmon, Rainbows and Brook in the same stream was a nice surprise. Thanks for watching.

You might enjoy reading about then fishing the Shetucket and Naugatuck Atlantic Salmon stocking effort in Connecticut. Sanctioned dedicated recreational fishing area development in Connecticut. GIANT salmon can be had by someone as skilled with flyfishing as you are. Again thanks for all your hard work generating so many great videos on your channel.
