I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was awarded a non-provisional patent last week and it wouldn't have been possible without these videos.
Thank you!!! I could never have filed without this video!! I kept getting the error message that my file did not conform with naming conventions, but no matter what I tried, it was rejected. I also, did not realize that I needed to file the declaration form. Uploading specifications, drawings and declaration separately finally did the trick. There needs to be another video on embedding fonts. I spent a couple of hours getting past the error messages about fonts not being embedded.
Excellent! Note: When I exported my specification from MS Word to a PDF by clicking Save As... PDF, I clicked Options to the right of the Optimize section, and clicked ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A). The default was the "Bitmap text..." below that. So I had to click the ISO box and that made the Bitmap become greyed out. In sum, I submitted the following 5 documents all of which I got off of a google search: aia0014.pdf which is the Application Data Sheet aia0015.pdf which is the Transmittal of New Application sb0001.pdf which is the declaration sb0015a.pdf which is the Certification of Micro Entity status Specification.pdf which contains the title, background, claims, abstract, etc. The 6th document, fee-info.pdf, is automatically generated when you get to the fees section

ADS is Application Data Sheet. An application data sheet (ADS) is a document that provides the bibliographic data for an application to the USPTO. ... The use of an ADS, because it provides this information in a single document and in a specified format, improves the accuracy of this conversion and the resulting electronic record.

The last option to pay the fee now is not working for provisional patent application. Also, an email confirmation was not sent when I submitted the application and chose the "pay later" option. I'm guessing that means I have to start over...?
I figured it out. The button to pay was really obscure so I couldn't find it the first time. I refiled and paid the fee. Now I can officially say I am a provisional patent holder :D

You do not have to file a provisional first. If you did you can file a non-provisional at anytime in the next year. But you do have to pay the filing fee for thee non-provisional application.
There is no distinction for citizen Vs. non-citizen. You will need to indicate your citizenship in filing papers, but the process and treatment is the same.
