My car has the same dash lights and makes the same click noise when attempting to start it up. I’ll be in my trunk first thing tomorrow so I pray this works for me! Appreciate it homie

had the same thing happen on my 2007 525. looks a little different but does the same thing. I did same as you and just shoved it back together. car started and ran like normal but I kept checking that battery cable and mine was getting super hot after just 5 minutes of driving.. I kept checking and it eventually split that big thick battery cable from the heat.. so I ended up having to find another BST that hadn't blown off to replace it. I have know idea why it would matter unless there is some kind of resistor in that sensor that you took off that regulates the electrical flow.. just please make sure your wire isn't getting hot

this guy is absolutely RIGHT!! i bought a 2011 BMW 328XI SULEV off the auction .. Every time id have to jump the car and it would not charge the battery and car would shut off 5-10 minutes after. On the positive terminal that was separated I actually put it back together, drilled small hole through it and used a long screw two washers and a bolt to fasten it back together permanently.

Lol thumbs up bro... I'm sitting with same problem and I don't have money to burn so I think I'm going start diagnosing that unit on the positive terminal.
Thanks to your video bro, i found out that was the problem on my bmw 328i, i was about to replace the starter thinking that was the problem, but i found out it was that cable you just mention
BMW has this system in just about all of there cars it is called a "BST" Battery Safety Terminal It has a small charge at the end of the terminal that separates the cable from the battery in an event of an accident this is to prevent an electrical fire that maybe caused by a major short , unfortunately sometimes they go off just by a small blow to the bumper. The actual fix is to replace the cable because the new cable comes with a new charge at the end of the cable , i hope this helps in understanding what a. "BST" BATTERY SAFETY TERMINAL is. Catch ya later. Yo.
Break open plastic rivets surrounding bst, carefully hammer back into contact. Clear code and cycle ignition to check if it’s fixed. Now you’ll know for sure before you fork out €150 for new bst.. worked for me. NB. This is temporary!!
Hi thanks mate I am going to have a look at my battery terminal posts and connection tomorrow. My bmw cut out as i was traveling over a speed bump and when I tried starting all I heard was that click click sound and the RAC tech said could be the starter or engine siezed mate. Your a life saver. Cheers
😂 Cheers my guy but you can lift that lil' flap and see if that thing is out. Mine f'ed up last night. Did like one crank then a half "rrr" and now nothing when pushing start button. Checked the battery using the little flap, shits way over engineered but sadly mine is not "out". Might be the starter 😬
Bro it worked, I know this is an old video and you probably won’t see this but thanks man I was seriously getting worried I’d have to take it to the dealership and get fucked. How did you find out about this fix? You’re a genius 😂
Hi Eddie . What year is your car . i have a 2008 BMW 328i . i tried following your instruction but the part where you have to hammer is coated with red plastic . What year is your car and the model . thanks .. and your immediate response would be appreciated.
vostro vostro th car is 07 328I 4 door...the plastic actually separates ... the terminals fit in "slots" in the plastic remove and put together as if you would a battery terminal on to a top pole .. easy
Solition ,Hi brother BMW made this according to an european rule model to avoid starting the car after accident in case of maybe fire..it is calles bst option BATTERY SAFETY TERMINAL..just smash it back together so that the cable contact each other and when cable is reconnected car starts.. U see this many time at the scrapyard, and damaged cars..i went to bmw in germany and asked.chears
Good advice, but I don’t think that is my issue. I have no power at all the car has been sitting awhile and the battery drained as I was doing work I was replacing the valve winter came and to let little baby sit.
Thank you . Great video and will help a lot I have a question, after that did all the warning lights go away or still there because I have all these warning light same as you
Baby, i’m sitting in the same car that my daughter gave me, cuz she bought a new BMW van thing. Going through the same CRAZY crap, again. we’re dealing with 2 separate households of women. They live across the street, and it’s just me, sitting her w/ a CLICKING NOISE, my KEY WONT RELEASE & my CHARIOT & CANE are STUCK in the TRUNK⁉️ NOW WHAT‼️⁉️ oh Lord, all we need is a brother to help us out m, but we don’t even live a town Where we could find one. 😂😭😭😭
Eddy Loves Cars this seems like the problem with my 2011 335i. Problem is the red plastic cover around the battery connection is riveted together from the factory. The big red flat cover came right off just like in your video but the little cover covering just the end of the cable is riveted. Did you have the same issue? I'm thinking about drilling out the rivets. I'm wondering if the rivets are something they did on newer models to keep normal people from making the fix. What do you think? Thanks for your video. It was great!
Royce Saunders fixed the electrical issue. If I remember correctly it was the starter. I believe that was the third starter we put on the car. Within days of fixing the electrical, we had an issue with the vanos system. I got rid of the car. Loved the car when I first bought it, hated it by the time I got rid of it. Thanks anyway though.
Tried this on my 2008 328i, there’s a sensor connected to the back of the thing that’s popped out. Tried hammering it back into place. All it did was dent the edges and now my air bag warning light is on.

I have a question. TAHT issue you were having did I show as a battery problem ? Did all your lights turn on ???
Im asking the same question my shit all works ima go check and see if it is that fuse
Cheers
thanks for that bro needed that!! that it is a air bag safty feature
How in the heck did you beat it back in place? Just tried mine and I pounded with a hammer. Nothing, didn't even move. Going to try a clamp tomorrow.
You’re a genius 😂
im a shade tree mechanic of sorts.. so i just recognized the symptoms and started poking around with my trusty light tester .. boom problem solved lol
I'm glad this worked for you. I am going to try this myself.
SeeCam TheSweetFam I had to break the plastic red thing on the positive terminal, took me a good hour and a lot of patience lol
Thanks bro, I'm having the same problem I will try and see what happens.
Hi Eddie . What year is your car . i have a 2008 BMW 328i . i tried following your instruction but the part where you have to hammer is coated with red plastic . What year is your car and the model . thanks .. and your immediate response would be appreciated.
vostro vostro th car is 07 328I 4 door...the plastic actually separates ... the terminals fit in "slots" in the plastic remove and put together as if you would a battery terminal on to a top pole .. easy
ahaa
love this video
"the buuuulshit, that buuuulshit "
awesome video.
this would be definitely the first thing to do when bimma don't start.
Bro you Are a freaking legend my guy!!!!!
Funny fucking video and very informative. 😂😂😂😂 I'm glad I found this video.
This video saved my life!!!!
That wire is the power to the Air Bags that pops out so the car will not start after an accident or when the Air Bag Sensor is triggered.
Learned nothing because I was laughing so hard ....part of the starship enterprise
This would of really helped when I crashed my 2010 bmw 1series two years ago if I had known better could of repaired the car my self with light damage
Thanks brother, fixed my junk.😀
Before doing that did your car electrical components work like the lights windows radio etc ?
Yes everything works like normal .. just wouldn’t start
Your awesome thank you for video.
could heavy bass do this
"...or whatever the fuck it is, I don't care..."
Me explaining anything about my car to anybody.
YOU ARE GOD BRO!!!!
Was it still trying to crank/turn over before you fixed it
is call bts cable guys if u want to replace it
It’s called the BST not bts hence why it’s called battery safety terminal
Good advice, but I don’t think that is my issue. I have no power at all the car has been sitting awhile and the battery drained as I was doing work I was replacing the valve winter came and to let little baby sit.
geniaaaal I love you brother👍
Preciate ya broski
Thank you . Great video and will help a lot
I have a question, after that did all the warning lights go away or still there because I have all these warning light same as you
Will try this tomorrow morning.
Did it work ? Also did you have a check engine light on ??
@ezemang1911 no engine light on, & it didn't worked.
Did you fix it?
Royce Saunders fixed the electrical issue. If I remember correctly it was the starter. I believe that was the third starter we put on the car. Within days of fixing the electrical, we had an issue with the vanos system. I got rid of the car. Loved the car when I first bought it, hated it by the time I got rid of it. Thanks anyway though.
Tried this on my 2008 328i, there’s a sensor connected to the back of the thing that’s popped out. Tried hammering it back into place. All it did was dent the edges and now my air bag warning light is on.
