Terrific travelogue! I always enjoyed watching the beautiful sites that you go to and the challenges that you face and overcome. But most of all, I admire the courage, tenacity, hard work and painstaking effort that you put to come up with these interesting vlogs for every subscriber to like. Keep up the adventure and more power to you and your crew!
Was great to meet you and ride with you for a brief moment in Germany. Congrats on finishing the brevet and in time for the train back to Amsterdam. Your channel has great content, keep up the good work, looking into getting the tailfin for PBP after watching the comparison video. Finally wish you best of luck for the Transibirica starting in a few days.
Thanks so much, it was a great to meet you! Strong headwind on the way back but happy we managed to make it before the last train, hope you had a safe trip back to Belgium :) See you at PBP or at the next brevet, safe rides :)
Congratulations to you both. Too far for me aged 71 but I am guessing not for some others of the same age. Looking forward to watching your other videos now.
Thanks, You should! super nice route mostly following beautiful cycle paths and quiet roads. A lot of small villages too with guest houses and nice restaurants.
Super effort! You're a step closer to PBP! I started to follow you because I am interested in the Cervelo Aspero and how it rides on ultra distance rides. Looks like it fared well!
Many thanks, really excited about PBP. Love the Cervelo Aspero so far, fast but comfortable and versatile. I will put it to test in my upcoming race on Saturday, Transiberica, 3300 km around Spain, mostly road but theres some gravel so I think the Aspero will be great for it.
@@Buzzalong.cycling thank you for your answer! I was thinking about buying it for bikepacking trips. Now I think I will chose Nitecore NU25 UL 2022 model headlamp. It has 400 lm double lamp with spotlight, floodlight and red light. It weights 45 grams. What headlamp do you use now for long bikepacking trips instead of Petzl Bindi?
@@Buzzalong.cycling acabo de comprar la fénix Hm65R y me parece increíble! Tienen una versión más ligera (de running) pero dura menos. En cuanto la use una noche entera te cuento mas…🙏🏼
Hi, thanks for recording this video. You very well narrated and explained your entire BRM, sleep schedule, management of time, etc. I have one query though. You had aerobars installed on your bike, how is that allowed? Audax rules do not allow use of aerobars in BRM atleast in my country (India)?
I heard you saying finished in sixty hours and I was still impressed then I saw it was sixteen hour holly molly you are amazing ,love your channel inspiring to me 😘
Other people: „I broke my finger, I had a crash with my bike… need to recover and see if I ever cycle again.“ You: „Luckily I was able to repair my bike in time for the next race“ 😂 Love your spirit!
Congrats on this achievement, yet another great effort! As a new sub, I wonder why you never talk about coffee? I'd say 90% of YT cycling vloggers can't start a ride without a cup of brown brew. With some more on the way for good measure. I may correct the description : Brevet Randonneur Mondieux (BRM), it's actually "mondiaux" ("Mon Dieu" means "My God"). Because brevet is a singular form, the proper sequence is Brevet randonneur mondial (French for "global" or "worldwide"). Happy cycling!
many thanks :) great suggestion! I love coffee, I am actually from the coffee region in Colombia, might bring my coffee-making kit for the next brevet. Safe rides 🚲
Thanks Anna, for me what really helped was the bike fit, most of the issues I had came from sliding back and forth on the saddle ( the reach of my bike was too long) and having a saddle that was too narrow for me and did not give me enough support. I also find having a pair of bib shorts with less padding helps to put less pressure, specially if you use aero bars or ride a lot in the drops and of course using chamois cream ^^
@@Buzzalong.cycling ah, this is great! Thanks so much! Will definitely give all of this a try since it sounds almost like a dream to be able to bike over 200km+ without looking like ground beef 😆
I'm interested in doing this event. Just finished qualifying for PBP having failed to in 2019. Wish i was as fast as you! Did you book accommodation spontaneously during the ride?
Thanks William :) the new bike is great, really comfortable but still fast, really helped me to have a bike that fits me well, no more back or neck issues since I got it.
I know many cyclists in Race Across America use time trial bars. However, seems as though they are not used as much as cyclists believe. They add weight unneccessarily IMHO. I have tried them and took them off. I guess it is all personal preference. It is also uncomfortable to be in a time trial position for extended periods of time.
Thanks for your comment. i have a personal preference for aerobars living in the Netherlands as is flat and very windy, in this case they are super helpful. happy holidays :)
Tremendous achievement in 3 days - really enjoyed watching the changes in terrain - great travelogue
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks :)
Mighty fine... all that AND filming at the same time, nicely done.
Thanks :) glad you enjoy the video

Thank you for your videos! I like them very much! What do you think about Petzl Bindi that you was using in this trip?
Thanks for your support :) to be honest I did not like it, it is very lightweight but not potent enough so i could not see much with it

Gear question for you - what is the reflective belt/braces you are wearing? I'm looking for an alternative to my gilet for summer riding.
I am gearing a Messingschlager vest, i think I bought it in Amazon
👌🙌🙌👏👏

Amazing inner strength and outer strengh...what s your average heart rate on endurance rides?..
Thank you :) for me is normally around 130 bpm

Great ride, is there any website to find all this Brevets ? I will do this too
Thanks, :) you can find the NL brevets in their website, totally recommend it! www.randonneurs.nl/
Wow, what a journey. Well done. How much time was allowed for you to complete the ride?
Many thanks :) around 75 hours I believe, started at 10 am on Thrusday and the time limit was Sunday at 13:00.

No sé por qué le llaman breve si son muy largas...
creo que ahi unas que son hasta mas largas de 1200 km
