  • Hey Everyone!
This video is going to take you through my experience getting into #UCLA #UCSD #UCSB #UCI and #UCD. My first semester of college wasn't ideal and I ended up with a 2.6 GPA. However, with a lot of work and dedication I still managed to get into all the universities I applied to. I hope this video helps anyone who might feel like getting into a 4 year university is impossible because you've had a bad semester, or even a year! Don't let anyone else dictate your future! Enjoy the video and let me know what you think :)

This really inspired me so much. I kind of went through the same thing. I wen through mental illness and got a 2.8 GPA one semester but i managed to raise my overall from a 3.1 to a 3.5 after one semester. Doubt fuels me too. I was told by a friend that I “wasn’t going anywhere in life” and none of my friends believe I can get into UCLA OR Berkeley. I’m applying right now for next fall and I’m really really hoping I get in!
    EDIT: 8/26/2021
I got into Berkeley! I was waitlisted at UCLA AND ADMITTED IN LATE JULY!!! I will be attending UCLA this fall :)
Edit: 6/11/22 finished my first year at ucla and it was incredible. I did really well academically and have learned so so much!!!!

Also, I noticed you asked me a few questions regarding law school on my other video and I’d be happy to answer them if you want to DM or email me! UCLA is a great school, but when you’re at the 4.0 1590 league, you are going to the top universities. UCLA is top but it isn’t Yale, or Harvard, Stanford, etc.. Schools below that standard will reject you because they know that you are going to a better school, so why would they admit you? Your friend probably didn’t show enough interest into UCLA that showed UCLA that they are actually interested in going and not just applying as a safety.

My counselors the same, I have a 3.65 weighted and she said I’d get rejected from CSU Long Beach. I got waitlisted and eventually accepted. Never take a highschool counselor too seriously and take whatever they say w a grain of salt. Their job is to get more students to go to schools across the country so if too many students bombard them with the same questions about the same schools they will shoot down those with the lower gpas and test scores. But know that they aren’t admissions counselors, they don’t have any say on if you get accepted or rejected.

I had a 2.4 gpa in highschool (prob lower i think) and a 16 ACT lol. Didn't get accepted to like 5 different 4-years and basically gave up, and I am glad I did. Graduated early from highschool, went to a community college and still did bad lol. I also started a sales job bc that is where losers go to, then I become one of the top salesman selling furniture and the youngest to perform at my level. I went on a spending spree, realized I need to save and invest money early, and now I will be able pay for college out of pocket from my investments. I realized sales is actually a career (not many people know its a career) and I figured how can I utilize a sales career, which I love, and turn it in to something bigger. So, 3 years later (working 50 - 65 hours a week while college) wasting my credits in a community college, I am finally on track and taking the right classes, and have the right experience that I gained extremely early to utilize where I am going, even with my horrible GPA in highschool and College. I have 3 more years left to graduate, constantly getting my grades better while working. So for those that don't know what to do in college or life and dont want to rack up debt or waste your time, maybe my story will help.

@@everythingbutthelaw Appreciate it! Hey, a similar story about the transfer counselor’s appointment that I just had last week, after commenting on your video! So I went to her with my IGETC form and courses already highlighted, 3.1 GPA (taking a few more classes now and anticipating “A’s”), and told her that I just got accepted into UC Riverside, however I am aiming at UCLA/Berkeley (or at least UCSD/UCSB) or perhaps Georgetown, and then perhaps Law School! She had her eyes wide open like I aimed at going to space and she also told me along those lines (with a stuck up attitude) of something like staying in my lane and lowering my expectations and to reconsider UCR. So I just had to walk out in the middle of it, having a strong feeling that this conversation is not going anywhere:) Went into the library and registered for a few more classes I would need for a solid transfer.

I barely tried in my sophomore and first semester of my junior year. So I thought that there was no saving my GPA. I thought I had a GPA of like 1.2 or something crazy and I didn't know how to actually check what it was but I thought there was no saving me so I was just trying to pass, with no real goal insight. But I figured out how to actually check, and I had like a 2.2. And that is horrible, but I feel like I could easily get that up to a GPA that could allow me to get into a somewhat decent college. This video gave me a lot of motivation.

Might be hard to up 0.8 points in 2 years. I started Freshman year with 2.4, and ended my senior year with a 3.6. Needless to say, I wasn’t an A student, so it could be possible though. Study!

Take APs, study hard to get A’s in them and I believe you’ll be able to get to 3.5. COVID also f me over in sophomore year and I ended the year off with a 2.8, very discouraging, but I managed to bring it up to a 3.2, and expecting it to rise by the end of junior. If GPA is all that u see then I think you should enroll in IB’s or at least 7 APS total. If not, like she said, taking the CC path its pretty good too! Or make your resume colorful, tag in some extra-curriculum, clubs, etc;;. Write a good essay.. THeres plenty of opportunities!! You got this!! We got this! 👐
