Still like it, though, plays fine and the sound is still okay enough for me.
That an interesting observation, Shipwright1918. I noted in the review that it sounds "weird," but I didn't think to try it with headphones. Thanks, and thanks for watching! 😀

@@GenXGrownUp Well that was a confusing dive. Looks like the term can mean a micro computing device running an nes emulator... or a micro 6502 surrounded by nanofied nes hardware.
While the two are made by different entities, I doubt this will affect the Arcade Classics price - though it should. These are superior in almost every way. IIRC, Classics are about $20 USD while the My Arcade Micros are just about $5 more at $25 USD. This all assuming you find them at Walmart -- online the My Arcade Micros push $35 or more.
Target actually has it in stock now for $79.99. FYI, the larger 34x Data East cab contains all arcade versions (not NES). Ironically, they’re selling the smaller individual cabs for $34.99. I recommend purchasing those in store and make them price match Walmart. $35 is too high.
When I first saw these, I was almost convinced they were just NES-on-a-chip systems, but it seems like they're not quite that. So not quite arcade ROMs (as you say, subtle differences, like a widescreen Burgertime) but not quite NES? Strange. I need to look into these more :) Meanwhile, if you have the "Tiny Arcade" models; ruclips.net/video/EC2ZcLjEykY/видео.html It turns out all four games (Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Galaxian, and Ms Pac-Man) are actually all in one cabinet, just jumpered to only load one game. There's a mod to let you choose between them :D
Thanks for the link to the Tiny Arcade hack. That's cool. I have the Ms. Pac-Man Tiny, but $25 each for those little things are hard to swallow. I may have to crack that bad boy open!
We suspect that they may have addressed this in later releases, but this review is based on my consumer experience. If My Arcade were to provide a newer unit I'd do a follow-up.
I think a great alternative using one of those My Arcade tabletops with a raspberry pi zero conversion playing most joystick and 2 button arcade games. Here is the video ruclips.net/video/-eHEdyJlbXM/видео.html
All of these are NES on a chip. The first three you reviewed are the best (except for the dreadful Galaga audio). Pac-Man is meh. Karate Champ and Bad Dudes were horrible NES/arcade ports and are equally horrible here since they are the exact same. Thanks for giving people a heads up that these are not arcade games despite them being falsely advertised as "arcade machines". I've seen countless amateur "reviewers" fail to even mention this basic yet crucial piece of info.
@@GenXGrownUp I think if Nintendo could be less restrictive they would make a killing. I would also like to see 1Up partner with them but I imagine if Nintendo wanted to do this, they would not need 1Up and they would just put the product out themselves as to ensure quality because Nintendo probably does not want to risk their name being on inferior components . Maybe the risk vs the reward is not worth it to Nintendo to pursue
Yep, as you've already noted! NES is a bit after our time. I was in high school during the NES era, and my girlfriend's little brother had one. I'd graduated to an Amiga by then.
That's an interesting observation, and I've thought about that a bit. Reviews are kind of a snapshot of the time I did them. When these were brand new, the market hadn't seen anything like it in quite some time. Over the years, as more products come out and technology advances, I have a broader range of comparison knowing just what is possible. It's kind of like the very best of show are wrecking the curve for all the other products! 😀
Hey, 17.28, I have a Donkey Kong Coleco tabletop, and while it's wonderful for nostalgia, the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. Not the arcade ROMs? Definitely disappointing. Pointless, though? Hardly. I've found these great fun to collect and review, despite the lack of original software in the early ones. Later versions (and some of the larger collection units) did go the OG route, however.
I can’t believe people still buy these trash games they shouldn’t even be called my arcade you’re playing Nintendo 8 bit graphics on these for $24.99 waste of money go buy the real arcade machines if you want arcades the coleco was the first that started it they were a failure

They need to get pinball machines next
That could be interesting, PL.
These units emulate the NES/Famicom versions of the games.
Yep.
i have Pacman and ms Pacman i bought few years ago
Driving in flip flops, now i've seen it all :-)
LOL! I never ceases to amaze me what tiny details viewers pick up on!
I’m guessing arcade classics will go down in price. Wasn’t the My Arcade ones about $10 more?
While the two are made by different entities, I doubt this will affect the Arcade Classics price - though it should. These are superior in almost every way. IIRC, Classics are about $20 USD while the My Arcade Micros are just about $5 more at $25 USD. This all assuming you find them at Walmart -- online the My Arcade Micros push $35 or more.
There is also Data east mimi arcade with 34 games
ORLY? Just searched it on Amazon and it clocks in at over $100! amzn.to/2IfOVGR Must be in high demand or out of production!
Target actually has it in stock now for $79.99. FYI, the larger 34x Data East cab contains all arcade versions (not NES). Ironically, they’re selling the smaller individual cabs for $34.99. I recommend purchasing those in store and make them price match Walmart. $35 is too high.
I recently upgraded my pacman from my arcade to a quarter scale Pac-Man from numbskull last week and I love it so much.
It's quite an investment, but those Quarter Arcades look and play great.
When I first saw these, I was almost convinced they were just NES-on-a-chip systems, but it seems like they're not quite that. So not quite arcade ROMs (as you say, subtle differences, like a widescreen Burgertime) but not quite NES? Strange. I need to look into these more :) Meanwhile, if you have the "Tiny Arcade" models;
ruclips.net/video/EC2ZcLjEykY/видео.html
It turns out all four games (Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Galaxian, and Ms Pac-Man) are actually all in one cabinet, just jumpered to only load one game. There's a mod to let you choose between them :D
Thanks for the link to the Tiny Arcade hack. That's cool. I have the Ms. Pac-Man Tiny, but $25 each for those little things are hard to swallow. I may have to crack that bad boy open!
I have the Galaga one and mine sounds great. There might be something wrong with yours because mine sounds much better
We suspect that they may have addressed this in later releases, but this review is based on my consumer experience. If My Arcade were to provide a newer unit I'd do a follow-up.
Got it. Thanks!
Subbed ur awesome
Woot! Thanks, Tristan -- love that you're along on the ride with us!
(:
Thanks, Hulkabily13. I'm also an amateur reviewer, but that's a pretty important point I thought! 😜
wow Thanks for the info
It is not an NES or chip it runs on Linux
It appears to be nes versions of the arcade version.
Right you are, gil. 😀 Glad you found us, and hope you'll subscribe to check out much more GenX-inspired content!
None of these arcade machines have Arcade games. They all have Nintendo 8-Bit ROMS.
Of these three? Yes. That's not true of the entire line, however.
my Gallagher was enough picture
Afraid I don't understand, Alexandra.
Why no Donkey Kong I wonder
That's all due to Nintendo marketing. Unlike in the '80s, they are now pretty tight-fisted with any licensing of their IPs to third parties.
Why did I buy these? Uh... they were five dollars each.
nes roms dude???
You see 'em!
@@GenXGrownUp of course, Galaga is tate game, it uses a vertical screen. They're all just NES roms mate
Yep, as you've already noted! NES is a bit after our time. I was in high school during the NES era, and my girlfriend's little brother had one. I'd graduated to an Amiga by then.
@@16bitfightclub34 why don't My Arcade then get a license to do NES games? I would love to play the Arcade versions of Donkey Kong and Punch Out!
I feel like you have gotten stingier with your tokens in recent years!!! I guess the novelty has worn off and the market is more crowded.
Since you're gen x like me, skip these and get the old coleco tabletop games. And dont forget q bert by parker brothers or the nintendo tabletops.
Hey, 17.28, I have a Donkey Kong Coleco tabletop, and while it's wonderful for nostalgia, the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. These may not be arcade accurate, but they're a far sight better than the static LCD in those wonderful old 80s tabletops! 😀 Glad you found us and hope you'll subscribe to check out much more of our GenX-inspired content!
One 7 Decimal 2 Eight 🤔🤔🤔I’m 48 so I don’t think I’m a gen X but I did need to get one of this consoles ...today’s game are just too complicated and too brutal for me ...the 80s were such a great time to be a kid ..and I’m sure the 50s too
Those larger ones might be okay. But those really small ones are just tat.
Don't follow you. These are all the same size - which larger ones are you referring to? Also, not familiar with "tat" (outside of body ink). Typo? Cool kid slang? 😀
I have gelage
At least put the arcade versions on these otherwise they are pointless to own
Not the arcade ROMs? Definitely disappointing. Pointless, though? Hardly. I've found these great fun to collect and review, despite the lack of original software in the early ones. Later versions (and some of the larger collection units) did go the OG route, however.

I can’t believe people still buy these trash games they shouldn’t even be called my arcade you’re playing Nintendo 8 bit graphics on these for $24.99 waste of money go buy the real arcade machines if you want arcades the coleco was the first that started it they were a failure
Those Coleco "failures" are still in high demand, so maybe that's an indicator of why we enjoy collecting these "trash games." 😘
@@GenXGrownUp I have those coleco ones I hate them so much yes they are selling for high price but only on eBay the home of scalpers would you like to pay a scalper slot of money for something that’s not worth that much if they won’t pay you that much I showed them pictures of mine I tell them I have it will they pay me that much they say no thank you that’s cause they know it’s not worth what their asking would you like to go right now and pay $20.000 for a game sealed that you can buy from Best Buy back in 2004 these coleco games costed $20 to $40 now ebay has got worse
@@Suhadisgood That's a gross generalization. The Coleco units have held their value and even appreciated across the board wherever you find them. If you have them and hate them, send 'em my way! 😀

Hey, demofilmpuntnl. I have these back in the boxes on my shelf, but as I recall they don't store the high scores.
