She can physically talk but I don't think she can hear what she is saying. I was thinking, if she is completely deaf then that would make it difficult for her to sneak. She can't hear her footsteps so she doesn't know if she is making noise.

@@Laikalisterto be fair , the trailer only showed him once for like half a second , so it’s hard to know whether or not he was only gonna get one appearance. But for kingpin it was obvious he was gonna show up more often since he’s like an uncle to Maya
The script and dialogue are lame and the fight sequence pathetic not to mention all the fake drama scenes.
I knew when they showed this part so early in Ep 1 from the near sloppy fight that this wasn't meant to be taken seriously because he's not important to the story.

I find it both ridiculous and hilarious how, in Echo, Fisk tells Maya that “None of my men have lasted that long against him” with “him” referring to Daredevil.
Now, this scene with Daredevil vs Maya in Echo, lasts a little under a minute.
When you go back and see the fights from seasons one and three of Daredevil, however, you see fights between Matt and some of Fisk’s men that go on for multiple minutes. Heck, Poindexter fought Matt for half a season in season three.
So, no. Maya’s fight with Matt is little more than a small skirmish, or a minor disagreement, compared to what and who Fisk sent after Matt in Daredevil.

I loved that whole jump through the shelves thing DD did 🔥 even tho they changed the shelves mid fight that he jumped through expanding them so he can make the jump lol.

I love how Disney+’s take on Daredevil is adding more music and coolness to his usual gritty portrayal - makes him even more likable!
FIIIIIINALLLY he uses ropes from from his sticks, goddamn. at least for that alone this little cameo is 10/10.
Now I need Daredevil solo thing where Cox' DD is in honest to fricking GOD tight suit without any zip but also wearable and with Billy Club that has it all just like original Stan Lee's Billy Club, which, for example, had automatic grappling hook device while Batman only gained one after 1989 movie (even when both Daredevil and Batman were made by Frank Miller Batman still only had manual ropes, yes Matt was more techy than pure comics classic Batman, especially for each budgets)
He literally does the iconic billy-club web swinging from the comics through the city in season 2 of the Netflix Daredevil series. It’s a short shot, and I had always wished they implemented his comic style traversal more in the show. Because, not only does it look extremely cool, but it’s incredibly impressive on its own and is a great all around example of Matt’s skill and power. For example, using his billy-club and it’s built in grappling line and hook he can easily keep up with and even match Spider-Man swinging together through New York City. When you break it down, it seems simple but it’s indicative of so much expert ability. Unlike Spidey, DD has no super strength, speed, agility, or reflexes and while he has a wide variety of very powerful superhuman senses he doesn’t have a precognitive spider sense which essentially allows Spidey to crudely see the future. All of these powers are actually absolutely essential for Spidey to safely and effectively web swing. It’s been shown that the majority of web swinging in a huge chaotic city like New York is almost entirely facilitated by spider sense. Pete doesn’t really even need to think, just point and thwip. The sense takes care of the rest, whether or not the web line connected to a good point, will it hold his weight, is the height and length right for the swing, are the any obstructions/obstacles/civilians in the way, the list goes on. If anything is wrong, Pete gets a tingle and thwips again. Combine that with the laundry list of physical abilities that compensates for what the spider sense doesn’t cover such as super strength, agility, reflexes, and superhuman speed which most importantly is an ability that comes paired with time dilated perceptions and at the very least reflexes that are FTE. So what seems like a simple act for Spidey is anything but simple and his mind and body are literally custom made to perform such a maneuver. Then you consider that Daredevil is able to perform the same feat without any physical, bodily or ambulatory superhuman enhancements, without a near endless supply of impossibly strong and impossibly adhesive webbing and he can’t rely on a psychic ability to keep him safe. So relying on nothing more than a highly trained and athletic physique tailored toward acrobatics and hand to hand combat but nonetheless entirely non-enhanced and human, clever and creative utilization of his incredibly powerful super senses including his additional radar sense, and a grappling line and hook that he constantly needs to release and reuse, he manages to go swing for swing alongside Spider-Man through the NYC skyscrapers all while engaged in conversation and oh yeah, technically blind. It’s just incredible all things considered.
I like to speculate on how he would implement his various sensory skills perform the task. For example, using his radar to locate an anchor point, then using that same radar/sonar ability to penetrate the anchor point to ascertain its density, using a combination of smell and taste to determine the composition of the object(DD’s taste is so strong that he can taste things on the air and wind from a distance), then going deeper to find and issues like metal oxidization/stress fractures/ loose nails/rotted wood etcetera. Once satisfied that the anchor point is sufficient, he would then execute a quick radar ping which would allow him to calculate the distance of the point and how much line to throw and how hard to throw it.
@@HyperLuminal I only know One scene that I think was from final episode where swings down from construction site, but it was done via utterly stupid Quesada style with FLAT end wrapping around, on one hand I absolutely dislike Quesada era (and therefore almost entire 00s) on the other hand it was cool that they made this one "real" . And he just went DOWN
What I am writing about is classic Stan Lee style billy club with tiny ? at the end and it can push him UP via automatic mechanism AND that was just one of many cool features in original Stan Lee run , he also could transform it into a rifle, could record conversations with it and many other cool features. I want something like that.
Yes, objectively Stan Lee's Daredevil is better and more competent human being than both Spider-Man and Batman and rare case when superhero was superhero from the very beginning, without any kind of trauma (in Matt's case it just pushed him further). But he also just trained and learned all his life to the absolute peak without bat-resource and without becoming reclusive passive-aggressive nerd like original Peter Parker was in Lee-Ditko era. And built more impressive gadget than Batman without being loaded with money.

Many in Daredevil's show got a few good hits in. Even in those one-take fight scenes we love, he is on the ropes a good amount of times, especially in the third season. Regular brawling henchmen are sometimes able to get a hit in.
He's a street vigilante with super senses & advanced training, but he's not THAT superhuman. I reckon this fight was as decent as it needed to be.
(Also, regarding people saying "she must have been bad or desperate if she reached for a gun" - she has no 'no-killing' rule, at least at this point, & yeah, if someone like Daredevil came in to my criminal enterprise beating up my allies & then started on me, I'd want that fight over quickly too)

I hope none of this shit is in the new daredevil series they're working on. That fight scene was embarrassing compared to the netflix ones. Hopefully daredevils appearances in these shows are self contained and not at all mentioned in the main show. That way it doesn't ruin the gritty nature of the characters. I've heard kingpin has super strength in this too, I hope they undo that.
Daredevil isn't exclusively gritty. He isn't Batman.

@@d.jparer5184 Stan Lee and Mark Waid both wrote incredibly well regarded, well developed, award winning runs on Daredevil. No one has ever complained that he was bad in the 90's shows, in fact, his portrayal is remember white fondly.
