    Matt's issue is that he underestimates both Fisk's power AND compassion. He thinks Wilson sees Vanessa as a prized object and not someone he'd die for. Mentioning her name so casually, he clearly didn't realize how much she truly means to Fisk. In a way this beating is a wake up call that Murdock needs to up his game and realize that Fisk is his equal and not some petty lowlife thug.

    • @vedgatne

      Michael Mallory Only Fisk DID realize that Murdock was Daredevil. In the scene at the end of this episode he touches his hurt lip and asks to re-examine Matt's files. Even that one little punch gave him away, and it gave him away because Matt wasn't expecting that beating coming, otherwise he wouldn't have hit Fisk at all. The only slight negative I can find about it is that Frank Castle should be a bit taller, which means we're now nitpicking for the gold medal at the nitpicking Olympics. Okay, this guy really does this character justice. He is so good I wouldn't be surprised if they made him a main antagonist in the next spider man film. Kingpin not only has a bone to pick with Daredevil, Spider Man also has a tendency of fucking up his shit as well. So imagine this scene, except it's Spider Man tied to a chair with his mask off. I mean think about that, like it would make his threats all the more scarier because they now have a more younger spider man.

      I don't think the worlds of the Marvel shows & movies are ever gonna merge like that. It would make the whole universe too confusing. Spiderman has plenty of his own villains that are really cool. I haven't read the Spidey comics but at least based on the 90s cartoons, he seems to be way in over his head when it comes to the Kingpin and understanding his schemes. At least Daredevil kind of knows/understands Fisk.

    • @michaelhenman4887
      @michaelhenman4887 5 лет назад +7

      I think one of the problems with that is the relative power of characters in the MCU, MCU Fisk is much weaker and far more realistic than the comics version, whereas MCU Spider-Man is the same strength level as in the comics (roughly), and other's like Cap are way stronger. Would be no fun to see Fisk taken out instantly (even with Spidey holding back), would be the same with Dex or Matt, if someone like Spidey or even Cap entered the season 3 ending fight they would wipe the floor with the other 3 guys.

      Matt was there to try to find out about Frank Castle's escape. I didn't remember it either, but I'm watching it again, and that's what it was. Things aren't really smooth for him either, his relationships with Foggy and Karen are going pretty badly, and he just sent Elektra away because he can't handle her bloodthirst. There was a lot about this season I didn't remember.

    my memory isn't great, but in the comics, i remember fisk was a HUGE guy.. like one of his fists would be much bigger than daredevil's head. and he was strong enough that stuff would just bounce off him like he was made of steel. but donofrio's version is just as if not more scary. this show really lets you understand his character deeply. you see how crazy smart and sophisticated he is as well as physically dangerous. most of all you see the raging anger that's just below the surface.. but you understand and can even sympathize with why he does what he does. they take the whole mob boss archetype and make it a lot more compelling. he and the writers really did a wonderful job with the character

    • @theOnyFUFU

      Do you know how Fisk gets so big? He seems to have super human strength. I get that he's a big guy but he looks fat, yet can somehow take more hits than a UFC heavyweight fighter...& hit like one too! The show doesn't really explain how he gets THIS freaking strong.

    • @swish007
      @swish007 6 лет назад +6

      yeah in the comic he was huge and tough and fast almost like the grey hulk.. i mean i don't THINK he was bullet-proof.. and he was known for being cunning more than anything so he would pick his battles and fight dirty if need be. but yeah i don't even remember any explanation given in the comics. honestly my guess would be that he was just a really really unusually tough guy. and probably would wear body-armored suits.

    • @Rodanguirus
      @Rodanguirus 6 лет назад +8

      Yeah, in the Silver Age comics, Fisk was inexplicably huge and strong. He was regularly depicted as more physically powerful than Spider-Man. I'm guessing it was mainly because it was a cool and dramatic visual to have this giant mastermind looming over Spidey. Becoming a Daredevil villain was a great move for the character, since you get to keep that imagery, have it make more sense in contrast to his opponent's powers, and you get the lawyer vs. criminal dynamic.

Daredevil spends too much time whining and moaning in a church basement instead of getting things done, and Kingpin mopes in a prison, becomes 'Kingpin' in like the 11th episode and goes back to prison a few episodes later, never to be seen again? What ever happened to Fisk exposing Daredevil's identity that the show hinted to a million times? Even season 3 hints that it's going to happen, but than it never does. All we get is a nebulous threat in the last fight (which was awful by the way and looked like a WWE match shot with the camera from CSI Miami) Fisk goes back to his old season 1 plan of just using the media to make people hate him...again? And why does everything feel so recycled? I swear Eric Olson must've lifted over half of the plot beats and scenes from season 1. That Karen Page episode was awful too.

    They did our boi Willy Fisk so wrong. The scriptwriter of Hawkeye should watch this scene and try to become better writers. The episode 6 was embarrassment to the Kingpin.

      @@tsmacks9 Yes bro I liked him in the first part too: when he said "People need to be reminded the city belong to me". But Wilson Fisk is a criminal mastermind, he controls FBI, Cops, Reporters, Lawyers and hell lot of criminal gangs. If it was Daredevil Fisk, he would have sent some expert killer to kill Elanor and Kate Bishop instead of going out himself. He would observe this chaos and misery Elanor brought into her family from the top. But Disney made him a regular big bad guy with no master plan. Why the hell Hawkeye was so afraid of him, he fought with a freaking alien named Thanos who had the power to wipe the universe. It would make sense if this Wilson Fisk was true to his daredevil version where people were afraid of him because of the huge network and the control he has in the criminal underworld. He can kill Hawkeye's son or something like that, that is a real threat. You can rewatch 1st episode of Daredevil Season 1 to refresh how the Kingpin usually threatens. It was right in the beginning, when Wesley(his right hand man) will threaten e person with her daughter.

      @@ratnodeepbain7758 bro I literally just binge watched s1-3 last week ahah. Trust me I KNOW kingpin. But yes i hear u and completely understand. Everything until the bishop fight was when things seemed weird but yet i was still fanboying over it. Tonsee him fight and take a bit by car, shot directly with an arrow, rip a car door off was also very neat. But that wasn't the fight for her. It should've been clint. Or maybe the he should've been watchin at a higher point and maybe leaving at a cliffhanger like that. But nevertheless i did still get that vibe from daredevil. They did change the tone whenever he did speak. But yeah i think they missed the point a lil bit. Ik its pg13 but even pg13 movies are less lighthearted than this. Marvel can give off a better tone and hold it there. To much flip flopping for me. But it was the best episode by far. Im just tlad theyre here. Dd and fisk
