Here are 12 tips to help you get 4000 hours of watch time fast to be eligible for RUclips monetization:
1. Create videos within a narrow niche so when someone finds one of your videos there is a good chance they binge-watch a bunch of your content.
2. Create videos for RUclips search. By following RUclips SEO best practices and creating content that shows up in RUclips search will help new people find your content day in and day out.
3. Consistently create RUclips videos. We recommend creating videos at least once per week when you’re getting started. Your videos will improve and you will be more comfortable in front of a camera.
4. Write a script for your videos. The important thing is you stay focused and don’t ramble or waste the viewers time in the video which will cause them to leave.
5.Create great thumbnails. You need people to first click on your videos to then watch your videos. If no one clicks on your videos, it’s impossible to get watch time.
6. Create and share playlists. If you’re creating content that is related like my first tip suggests, you can begin to create playlists. Playlists can help you rack up watch time making it easy for someone to watch one video after another. You can add these playlists on your RUclips channel page where people can binge your playlists.
7. Add a popular uploads playlist to your RUclips channel page. This makes it easy for anyone who is visiting your channel page to find your top content.
8. Do livestreams and other longer videos. This isn’t a tip for the first few hours of watch time before you even have many subscribers, but if you have say 800 subscribers, you could plan a livestream.
9. Review your RUclips analytics. Which thumbnails have the highest click through rate? What in your videos is causing people to leave, where are you showing up in search results, but don’t have a video on that exact topic? Are you publishing your videos at a time when a large part of your audience online? Here’s a video on how to review your channel analytics and improve your content.
10. Double down on what’s working. What type of content is working the best? Do more of that
11. Start a conversation with and listen to your audience. If you do a livestream, you will get lots of comments. Also, when people leave comments on your videos, ask them questions, have a conversation.
12. Start growing an email list and send your email subscribers to your new youtube videos. When we send out our weekly email to this list we get several hundred people who were doing something else to click on and watch our new youtube videos. One of the things RUclips loves is when you bring someone from somewhere else to youtube. If you start lots of new sessions on RUclips from your email list, RUclips will promote your videos more.

Hi! I took a look at your latest video and have some comments that might help. Use less text on your thumbnail, the one for the watermark video is too busy. Start the video with you saying "Today I'm going to show you how to create a custom watermark for your RUclips channel" instead of the animation you currently have for the first 10 seconds. Try to place your camera up higher so you aren't looking down so much at your camera. Write a longer description to tell RUclips what your video is about. Use tags that are related to the content of the video "youtube watermark", "video watermark", "how to create a youtube watermark". Here is an example of a video on the same topic that appeared in RUclips search ruclips.net/video/lcU1cV4XS2g/видео.html. If you use the Chrome plugin for VidIQ you can even see the tags he uses. I would remove from the description where you have the part about sub4sub. I have a video on how you can have your channel deleted for doing sub for sub (ruclips.net/video/0ANmpLOXU-Y/видео.html). I just took a look at your channel. You're creating lots of content, but most of the videos have less than 100 views. 1. Have you thought about creating videos to show up in RUclips search? You basically create videos on topics that people are looking for answers for on RUclips. Our video on RUclips SEO (ruclips.net/video/ahrZpXfnRKo/видео.html) will help walk you through the process of creating videos that will show up in RUclips search results (over 1/2 of our video views come from RUclips search). 2. What is the audience retention like for your videos? What is the average time people spend watching your videos? Is it in the range of 20-50% of the video? Our channel has really begin to grow once we started creating a bunch of videos about RUclips. Someone can watch one video after another about a related topic. Someone that watched your full body workout video may not want to watch your washing dishes video.
