Back in the day you could disconnect the fuel line, ground strap and throttle linkage, then take out 4 bolts and drop the VW engine on an old tire (without wheel) all in 1/2 hour… Installation was the reverse. We sure have come a long way!
Wow that looks SO much better. Kinda feel bad for folks who do this job in their parents garage with floor jacks. I've been away for a bit... is this a 911 motor? I noticed the power steering filler was reversed. My plan, or daydream really is to bore out the 2.7 to something close to 3.? and then swap in the 911 instrument cluster and pretend that I have a 2 seater mid-engine 911.
Hi! I am waiting for you to get hold of a 997.1 C2S! 😅 Just sold my 987 and would love to follow you with the same car I have. Your content is the best when it comes to comprehensive videos!
No professionals were hurt, or even present, during the making of this video. 🙂 However... fun was had, things were learned, and an engine was replaced. Thank you Aaron for your commitment to genuinely great content and (hopefully) positive outcomes.
+David Grano-De-Oro if I ever need to do it I definitely will make a video! Too many have to dos right now to work on things I don’t have to do unfortunately 😆
So tricky to get back in. Do you think this is possible with basic jack stands? Also what is that safety wire thing for. I keep looking at on my car and I'm non the wiser how it might function other than stopping the engine getting rammed up the drivers ass in a shunt.
+Andrew Farrow I was thinking about that… the lift obviously makes a huge difference, but the table could be raised and lowered and adjusted too. And yes, that’s exactly what the cable is for 👍

+Bob Fognozzle ain’t that the truth 🍻
The anticipation is building. Have enjoyed watching every episode.
+Jeremy Pringle 😬🙏🍻
It would be very interesting to see an engine installation video from the Porsche or Valmet assembly line. Your patience is inspiring.
+Peter Box thanks! 🙏🍻
Thanks for another great video. They are always interesting. Can't wait for you to fire up that new engine and drive it off the lift.
+mike dx thanks. Stay tuned,,, 😁

Could you do a video on how to disassemble the dash and vents? Nothing at all online showing how
