- A gentle 3 mile jog on footpaths on a glorious Essex morning. Dropping down to the River Colne and running a short section of the Essex Way. The run was the first serious test of my injured knee.
back on it, well done 😊
Thanks friend. So good to get out there again, even if I have to jog very slowly.
Hi grandad from Samuel and Charlie loved the video 🙂
Thanks Geoff, and a belated thank you for my birthday email. Hope the boys are behaving for you.
Lovely to see you back jogging. Hope knee is ok. Please be careful along those footpaths! Don't want to twist that knee. Lovely green run. Love to you. Xx
Thanks Janice. Great to be out on the trails again, even if I am only slowly plodding along these days. Love to you both. X
The good old pill box.
Yep, always worth a mention. Hope you are both well. So good to be able to jog across country routes again.
This video put a big smile on my face Pete! So good to see you back out running on the trails again. I hope you didn't get too stung by all the nettles that are about at the minute. I will take a look into the Essex Way and see if there is any races along it. Lucky escape on that big drop. Take it easy mate! 😎🤘
Thanks Ben. I am always grateful for your support mate. Think you have missed entry for this year's Essex Way 82 mile ultra in early July. Would be interesting to see a video of you doing next year's race. I would be out there cheering you on. Hope the family is all well.
Good ol Pete is back! Knee looks better as we can see you survived your twist at 1:18 hehe . A nice trot as always. Forever grateful for sharing your sessions with us.
Thanks Simon. It was good to get out there again, even for a little jog. All the best to the NTC.
Thank you for taking me on this lovely journey. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the Essex Way. It looks lovely your end. Here we have my beloved Claybury Woods, Hainault Forset and Fairlop Waters. I haven't been out for a while due to health, but can't wait to get out soon. I'm happy your knee is on the mend 😊
Hi Gemma. Good to hear from you. Yes some of our part of the Essex Way is very pleasant. We have some sections of the River Colne, Constable country around Dedham and of course the marshes and the coast. The knee is getting much better, I must be careful not to twist it again. Sorry that you haven't been well enough to get out, hope you manage it soon. Let me know if ever you need any advice on my part of the Essex Way. All the best.
@@essextrails Ah, thank you for offering to advise me. I hope to take you up on that. Hoping you're fully recovered soon: I twisted my knee last year and it took 6 months to heal, so I must be careful too!
Nice to see you back out running again Peter. Picked the perfect time to hit the trails now summer has finally sprung. Apart from a couple of parkruns , I’ve not been on the trails at all this year. Looking forward to some off road miles tomorrow 😊
Hope you’re able to get out some more soon 🤞
Hi Rachel. It was so good to get out there again, although all I can manage at the moment is a slow jog. I had a recent birthday and treated myself to a little drone (Hoverair X1). I took it out for a trial run yesterday and almost lost it, but it has great potential for filming. Hope those off-road miles go well. Best wishes to you and Rory.
I thought we'd lost you down that huge step for a minute there!
I wonder whether there are any local footpaths that you haven't explored yet. I can't resist trying out ones I've not done yet around here, no matter how dodgy they appear 😅
Hi Mark. That step was huge. I had to bleep out what I actually said as I stepped into space. I've done most of our local footpaths now and feel absolutely no desire to run down dodgy ones: I leave all that macho stuff up to you young fellas. Take care mate, especially on those dodgy paths.
