Prince is a Swiss army knife. His voice is an instrument too. His abilities are other worldly.
His music artistry stands the test of time and we will never see the likes of him again in our lifetime. What a thing to have been alive when Prince was making music. The world is more of a empty room after he left us. Thank you my friend ☔

This whole concert is amazing. My favorite song from it is All The Critics Love You In Montreaux. It's definitely one to check out.

First he kills it with the guitar and then he kills it with his voice...like only the purple yoda can!!! I saw you got goosebumps on that guitar solo!

That version of Empty Room captivates anyone. The amount of feeling, passion, and raw emotion went right out through that guitar. I've listened to a lot of different types of music since i was a kid back in the 1970's and can say this particular song and everything about it is unmatched by anything else I've ever heard. The melodies, the vocals, the crying guitar that speaks to us. No, there will NEVER be another Prince. Others can try to play it but it will never be the same. I'm very sad he's gone, he had so much more to share with us. I wish he had known the importance of how his music moved people and stirred things in them that not even they realized were there.

I've actually seen a couple of reactors on RUclips react to this performance stone-faced and unmoved, not liking it. They must have ice in their veins 😀

Only a blinded fan of Michael Jackson could deny this evidence. Did I say enough?
It's not only his voice, performance or guitar playing, he wrote this without any "quincyjones" and other 300 writers more!
He was a Michelangelo, a Mozart, a Miles, a Hendrix married with Santana, Nina & Billie, he was Lennon McCartney, Ray, ... some of all them together.

Thank you so much for reacting to my request 💜💜💜 I am so happy you did the longer video with the next song ‘Elixir’. His vocals here are on point! It’s worth actually watching the whole concert, not necessarily reacting to it. He does 2 sets, both are on RUclips. The second set he does more guitar work including a great rendition of Spanish Castle Magic, Hendrix cover. So both 2009 sets are fire! He also did Montreux in 2013, 3 nights in total. My favourite is show 3 as it’s a rock set, with his all girl band 3rdeyegirl …. That’s an amazing concert, really amazing 🎸🎸🎸

You should check out the performances of All This Love, All the Critics Love U in Montreux, Little Red Corvette, and I Love U But I Don’t Trust U Anymore from this same show (Montreux Jazz Festival 2009). They are all stellar performances. 🙌🏼

Montreux 2009 (esp. disc 2) is worth diving into. Some Princeheads aren't into it because the set list is not lined with more well-known hits. But the musicianship is first rate with the stripped down band. PRN's always excellent guitarwork seemed to take a leap forward in the late 90's through the 2011 shows, so Montreux 2009 is good example of this phase. Next up for consideration: Santana Medley (live) - Prince & The NPG; SB Halftime Show (full version, without documentary commentary); Bambi (Live at the Tokyo Dome 1990); Prince - 'Shhh' at Coachella; Prince - Motherless Child Live!; Dreamer - Live (Prince on Jay Leno); Prince - Stratus & All Shook Up (Montreux Jazz Festival 2009 - Show 2); Prince - Anotherloverholenyohead (with Rock Lobster instrumental; NFL SB Press Conference 2007). LFG... 🎶

If Princeheads only want the hits, then they are not Princeheads.

Well...I consider myself a bit of a Princehead, and the 2009 Montreaux show to me is Prince at the top of his game! One of the many times; but one of my favorites.

I've seen him live 4 times. The last time was in 2006 for his Musicology tour. Each time, he performed over 3 hours, and did alternate versions of his hits that were even better than the originals. He is absolutely the greatest artist and performer the world has ever seen.
