Agreed. I think TVD could have kept up if Plec & co. actually allowed the characters to grow into adults, and moved the age category up with characters as they matured. Instead, they stunted & shortchanged the TVD characters, plots, and cast because even most the adults (human & vampire) on TVD weren’t really as adult they’re either physically shown or hinted at being mentally. Like, seriously, you’re pretty much following a group of teenagers right at that pivotal time in their lives when they’re figuring out who they are in comparison to the roles they’re supposed to be playing according to society etc. and you scarcely ever get to seen them even struggle with it even though the who premise is basically these kids are forced to tackle adult situations because most of the adults can’t get their act together so the kids can be kids who figure themselves out. I suppose that’s my main issue with TVD as opposed to TO is that even the adults act like petulant teens forcing the teens to grow up too fast yet never really actually do… it all defaults back to petty teen drama where even when there’s clearly moral struggles, psychological battles, & a myriad of other identity vs role type crises they’re all brushed over and the accompanying storylines dropped, never done justice, or completely misrepresented in the next episode because somehow the consequences are to age-inappropriate or something to show on TVD. Sorry for rambling, just some things I hadn’t really realised I was reflecting on just came tumbling out.😂❤
I appreciate that you love Davina. People are hating on her for no good reason, other than she was against our main protaganists. Even though she had every reason to hate them, like the second she was starting to let go of her hatred, Klaus f*cked it up by screwing her over. Davina has the most realistic response to the people who have harmed her. Characters in this universe always forgive and forget each other way too easily. It would not happen in real life.
I agree with pretty much 90% of this lol. One thing I disagree on is who is to blame for Hayley’s death. Greta is the person I blame. Greta was already in NOLA and Greta had Roman at the Salvatore School to follow Hope around. Sure, Hope put Hayley in a box (because Hope learned from Klaus’s past that putting family members in boxes gets you what you want, and it worked, Klaus came home to Hope), but Roman is the one who went into Hope’s head to find Hayley’s location. Greta wanted Hayley, Klaus, Marcel, and Hope dead for not being pure vampires. Greta was the reason Henry died. Greta had her hand around Hayley’s heart, Hayley just chose to protect her daughter no matter what. If Elijah wasn’t there, Hayley would still be alive imo because Klaus would have killed Greta and Roman instantly but was stopped by Elijah. Greta used Hope’s impulsiveness to get what she wanted. If Greta didn’t get Hayley when she did, it was just a matter of time imo. So I blame Greta (and Klaus for ultimately starting this whole thing by killing August way back when).
lol Greta is definitely the primary driving force in hayley’s death lol i was just being dramatic about elijah and hope. they both played a part but ultimately Greta is the one at fault lol.
Actually Klaus is to blame for everything that happens in the show he is the hybrid killer with a thousand enemeis And the people he killed want revenge so the go after Haley
I hold to the belief that Klaus' sacrifice *could* have been a good ending for him, but it was completely undercut by Elijah randomly deciding to die alongside him. It was a father sacrificing himself for his daughter, which is always a noble thing, but then Elijah had to swoop in running away from his guilt over getting Hayley killed. Elijah clearly, at least to me, was already planning to die. If he had done so for the same reasons as Klaus, to save Hope, then it would have gone a long way in redeeming his character in my eyes. Of course, the whole thing didn't make sense to begin with for one very big reason: *Where did that random white oak stake come from*? The wooden knight in season 3 I could accept, because it's believable for Klaus to not have realized over the centuries that this trinket he gave Rebekah when they were children could kill them. But for him to have had that whole ass stake hidden away, the whole search for that knight in season 3 no longer makes sense. Not to mention its existence breaks TVD lore. If Klaus had his own white oak steak hidden away, he would have to have obtained it before they burned down the original tree because he and Rebekah had no knowledge of another tree growing later in TVD season 3. With that in mind, we come to the actual lore breaking moment: when Klaus killed the 5 and was tormented for 52 years 4 months and 9 days. The purpose of the Hunter's Curse is to get the offending vampire to kill themselves. If Klaus had a white oak stake hidden away, there is no way that he wouldn't have gotten it and attempted to unalive himself. While its still believable that he would survive, as his siblings would never have allowed him to go through with it, there is no way that stake's existence would then be a surprise to any of them as it was in the finale.
I never minded Vincent's consistency throughout the series. Aside from the fact that Yusuf Gatewood acted circles around everybody on the show, these characters needed somebody to put them in their place - albiet verbally. He was the moral conscious for the audience to remind them to stop defending 90% of these characters and their heinous deeds just because they were hot and white. Even whenever it came to Marcel, he was always harshest because he expects better from him given his Mikaelson upbringing. Despite everyone else's journey in the show, he remained steady in his beliefs and character, always grounded from the bombastic elements of vampires and hybrids.
My favorite character(s) were Haley (my girl) and Jackson their relationship was everything and they did him dirty by killing him off in the 2nd season.
I’m late to the show but I agree with everything you said about Klaus. From 50 plus years of watching tv, movies and reading that character was the most well written multilayered and complex character I’ve ever witnessed not to mention smoking hot. Keep up the good work. I’m proud of you. 18:24
Elijah had loads of fight scenes in the originals, He had 5 major fight scene s with klaus alone. Only had one in vampire diaries have we been watching the same show
I specifically said “iconic” fight scenes and even included a frame of one that I later found, in the video. In my opinion he had more ICONIC ones in The Vampire Diaries than The Originals. That was the point I was communicating not that he didn’t have “fight scenes”.
finally someone who gets me! lol he was so much more exciting in vampire diaries. idk maybe it’s because he was the main one causing all the drama before klaus came into the picture lol!
Not too much on Vincent lol. He always gave it to the mikaelsons and it was needed because they very much became annoying by season 4. And davina and his character definitely were one in the same
I love the original my favorite character on that show is Marcel but things don't like was one minute Marcel is Klaus son then one minute they are only friends the next minute mortal enemies Elijah kill Marcel and then when Marcel came Elijah wanted Marcel to still treat him like uncle . Rebekah was his aunt she had a hand in raising Marcel until he was grown up I don't like that part personally . I don't like when Marcel was helping all of them get out the city and then Cole tells Marcel he not really family and no body says anything And against it he this helped you'll get out from being killed and you could tell him hes not family and Klaus says noting Elijah says noting Rebekah says noting like really but when they need him his family again . I love Marcel but I hated the way the Michael's treat Marcel though . Even Michael acknowledge that Marcel was family more than the rest of them . They treat Marcel like vampire Diaries did Bonnie the only different Marcel walk away some time and Marcel did his own thing most of the time .
You are wrong.. Elijah hold the family .he is the worst even worse than Klaus because he is unpredictable Klaus said the beast in me can only be check by the beast in Elijah Elijah is very important in the show Very important
Let me tell you something.klaus and his family are the bad guys . and we love them especially Klaus he doesn't not deserve a happily ever after.he kill alot of people
I think we like Rebekah in the og more then tvd because in tvd Rebekah is a teenager and acts like a teen but in the og shes around adult's so she acts like an adult and thank god she was saved form matt
The originals is so much better than the vampire diaries and I stand by that
Literally in all aspects!!

They actually showed Elijah struggle with his dark side

right! like i don’t get the hate! I absolutely loved her character and her powers!
Well she deserves the hate cause she went after klause when she was all powerful...you don't start something you can't finish 😂
@@aduseinathaniel7559 she went after Klaus because she went after her, and he killed her first boyfriend Tim. People were being biased.

Klaus ending the life of vampire Hitler.....do not blame him at all.
Bonnie somewhere like ooh what could have been😂

Yusuf was without a doubt the most talented actor on the show along with Joseph! you’re 100% right about that
I agree that Yusuf Gatewood was spectacular.

I will never forgive Julie for killing Jackson😭 Him and Hayley were better than Hayley and Elijah in my opinion lol
@@romieonfilm lol yes I agree
Yeah that really made us despise Tristan.. Hayley's last words to him are chilling.
Girl, you lost me with Elijah. He was the best.
lmao i just liked him better in the vampire diaries lol his character. 💀
i saw the title and knew i could trust your opinion. Klaus' character is phenomenal.
