Fantastic champion Andyroo I remember watching you as a teenager in grade 10 back in 1999 I was very nervous the whole game for you but as champions do you found a way to get it done and I was so happy you got it done. Well done on being one of Sale’s Grand Champions.
Thanks for being nervous for me Allan - not half as nervous as me though! Everybody (including me) thought I was done for, but luckily the cards (and the questions) fell my way.
Haha, sitting here watching this on youtube 20 odd years later i actually cheered when Andrew won...what a champ!! Very well deserved, hope he's lived a happy life and no doubt his wife was rapt he got that grand piano as promised! Also, his mum would have been proud beyond words.
Im mates with Andrews son David. We nickname Andrew Sale of the Century Champ. I wouldn’t be game like Andrew having won on a tie breaker the night before and coming back to risk everything. I would have taken the prizes and left.
Andrew - Thank you for uploading the whole series. Congratulations on your success. I watched Sale during the 1990s as a school kid, longing to be a contestant. So watching 8 consecutive episodes and following your track to master was a real treat and brought back lots of nostalgia. I also thought your final remark was very thoughtful.
Thanks Frank - your comments are appreciated. Can't believe it's now 23 years since that nail-biting final. It still has me mind-boggled at the result, even after umpteen views!
Oh my, I'd prefer this design and OST over the one used for the American show any day of the week, it is fantastic. And you've got an equally fantastic run to boot, well done.

Oh my god! I have to admit that it was quite tense towards the end of the game, especially when it ended up in a tie at the end of the Mad Minute (which for some reason was called the Speed Round on the American show during the 80s). Stewart pretty much had you on the brink throughout the game, Andrew, but in the end, it was an amazing victory. I realize this is from some time ago, but congratulations from Thunder Bay, Canada.🙂👍
I’m so happy for Andrew! He won it just in time and made it right through to the end and became a champion! It really would’ve sucked for him if he got that final question wrong or the other guy got it right!
19:24 Peter Smith: Boosting Artistry which only nature could create this Opal and Pearl Necklace is sure to steal the show. With perfect tones from a string of 66 rounds lustrous Pearls plus a handcrafted Yellow Golden Hen sir and the highlight of the piece a deep cabochon Dark Opal magnificently surrounded by a cast of dazzling Diamonds. Valued at $20.000 from Germani Jewellery.
I’m mates with Andrews son David. I nickname Andrew Sale of the Century Champ. I wouldn’t be game enough to come back if I won on a tie breaker because if I come with nothing I won’t want to go with nothing.
The first grand champion I ever saw, I believe his name was Andrew also. He was tight with his money in-game, never once spending it at the gift shop or playing the Cash Card Round. One of his final opponent's did have the money to play it (ending up with the car, which was no good considering he didn't win). But this Andrew as well may have lost if his opponent hadn't used his in-game money (and the only prizes he would've picked up would those he'd won on the Fame Game board)!
@@theresagwhite3175 Actually, his name was Adam, Adam Cocain, and he won in 1996. I saw him again recently on Heat 5 of the 21st Birthday Challenge. A flash back also shows that he too would've lost everything if his opponent hadn't spent their money on his final night! One thing I can certain of though is how tight he was with his money, resisting temptations at all costs. A man after my own heart!
Me too, he pipped his challenger out at the post on this occasion (Stewart McKinnon) from Point Piper in New South Wales with the answer (Bram Stoker) which resulted him winning almost $360,000 in cash and prizes including the Alfa Romeo Spider and the Keyring from Germani Jewellery.
Got the lot Cameron - thanks for your interest - but I thought I'd look a bit of a big-head if I put them all up! It's only taken me 19 years to post it - thought I'd better do it before I cark it!
That's fine, congratulations nonetheless. My grandma was on Sale in early 1989, when Tony Barber was the host. She left the night before she would've played for the cash, however she won a Holden Commodore and a Barina, a Canadian train trip, a selection of musical instruments, a watch, some paintings, and an early model computer, and I believe some kitchen appliances. I wish we had the episodes, but when we got a DVD player, we threw out all our video tapes. If she came back for the final night, she would've been playing for approximately $288,000 or so, which included a jackpot of $148,000 I believe. Out of curiousity, do you still have any or all the prizes you won?
Would love to see them ...particularly I think your second night, where your opponent claimed JFK was shot from the Texas School Book Suppository, mainly because that was me!
They reckoned the car was worth $54,700, but of course that's the recommended retail price - I'm sure you could negotiate a better deal from an Alfa dealer if you were buying one.
What an incredible run, Andrew! Thanks for making this available to watch, brings back great memories of the 90s

This is the greatest win in Sale century. Well done Andy!
This is a grundy television production for the 9 network
Man ...if Stewart hadn't tried the $15 cash draw it would've been game over! Good on U andyroo!
That's the beauty of $ale, it often comes down to the most narrow of margins!!

Kathy Najimy was in Sister Act and Rat Race! Whoopi Goldberg was in both movies too!
Andrew, please upload the other episodes in your run to the final, you're a terrific contestant!
All posted now. SOTC Andrew's run Ep 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

What a great champion
Could this have been any more nerve-wracking?

did he play in 1998?

Hi Andrew . I knew you family , brothers Ronald and Douglas . I attended Blaxcell Street Public School.
Thanks - We're all still around - I was there too. Happy days in the 50s!
Sale of the Century Champ - did you go in the master series?
Absolute champion.

National championship

Ah yes - that was a classic, Jon. If you're still in Mosman, I'm still in my place too, so let's get together sometime.
6:51 And would like to dance like John travolta and also play soccer like Maradona
What's the Next Alfa Romeo car on Next Week's edition of Sale of The Century with Glenn Ridge and Nicky Buckley Andyroo?
It was a white Alfa Romeo 156 sedan Brayden - and the cash jackpot restarted at a measly 50 grand.
