Why descaling required for various piece of metal?
The oxidation of the base material during the re-heating of the billet, blooms, plates, seamless pipes, slabs, strips as well as profile material causes the scale on the steel surface. De-scaling mechanism is utilised to prevent this layer from fusing into the underlying material during the rolling process.
What is the function of High Pressure Water Jet in descaling of steel in the Industry?
When a high-pressure water jet impacts the surface between the scale and the base material at high pressure through strategically set nozzles at various angular points, the scale is loosened. The loosening scale is rinsed away with high-pressure water. By preventing the fusing of oxidised scale into the base material, the quality of the Rolled Product is improved.

De-scaling is done directly from High Pressure Triplex Plunger Pumps through Valves and a De-scaling Header in a direct de-scaling system. Also, de-scaling is accomplished using an accumulator, which collects high-pressure water by High-Pressure Reciprocating Plunger Pumps and uses the pressured water as needed via an emergency valve, operating valve, and de-scaling header.
